4-5 months of rain.. like NOT
-
Cheers Andy - compared to your build mine's I've used lookup tables and interpolation for the non-linears. I considered curve fitting and using polynomials from a model - but that lead to silly orders of calculation to make it properly smooth. However, accuracy is limited by the tolerance of the sensors themselves - and analogue voltage drift is dependant on how good the Arduino's voltage regulator is, so kept it simple. If it's down to a couple of percent, that'll be fine. I have a sensors base class which I then inhert from to make the same code work for different sensor maps. For the linears, its just y=mx+c using the given parameters. I bought my sensors from efi-parts, and their website has plots of characteristics. I have little limits in the code to set colour attributes etc. Well in theory. I've been side tracked for a few months, so the code is in one working piece but not really finished and the hardware is built but not installed. I will try harder when I get a bit less distracted. Hi Gareth - both dog's are fine too which is the main thing Dying from man-flu at the moment... I'm so over winter.

No need to go out in the rain. They are GTR not D. I have both types on my car in the summer - 18x8.5 GTR front, 18x9.5 GTR-D rear. Dishes are much larger than non-dish in the rims, and as said above, 9.5J is the smallest dish size Looks like this.. although this pic is a blast from the past as my cars a bit less archy now

No, it wasn't a problem ... I was using a 256 step programmable calculator that I'd made the previous year iPad. Battery is going - 10% remaining pop-up is my excuse on that out of an old transistor radio RPN no doubt. Pretty impressive forming TTL from discrete semiconductors though. I would have thought a transisitor radio leant itself to analogue computing? Op-amps are minor wonders Yea, not easy Dang.. I'm going now ^^

That's a mammoth task for me ... last time I know I made a mistake was 1967 which of your children are going to disown you for that statement neither ... they started in 1968 ... it was a mistake I made in a fluid dynamics paper I was writing 1967? It's not surprising you made a mistake - it must have been hell attempting CFDs with an abacus or slide rule

I cleaned mine with a wire wheel, used a couple of coats of Bilt Hamber Etchweld primer for the non-ferrous bonding layer, then a few coats of Hammerite hammered silver (other colours are available) direct to rust spray. It's been completely fine so far

Needles on the clocks are pointing bottom right too. Definitely a mirror pic

Glad you escaped that one! I often worry about my sloping drive being an accident waiting to happen - brakes, gears, chocks - it only takes a second to be distracted - although bit of a shocker all three being offline though What scares the bejeezus out of you makes you stronger I guess

Nooo that's tragic I hate seeing things like this happening to people's pride and joy.. I hope you can sort it somehow - although there's been a lot of parts and panels (including the bonnet) hurt there.. gutted for you..

+1 ID725 - they've been working perfectly in my car (caveat I've only been using them a few months)

Front bumper on the red one in the first link reminds me a bit of this.. Yellow one looks better though

I understand the attraction of nice 'professional' kit, (not sure this helps) but at the other end of the tool drawer spectrum, I impulse bought a cheap Chinese self assemble drawer/cabinet in clearance at B&Q last year for under £50 - it's been great and much better than the million tools boxes that used to clutter my garage

I must admit, I originally thought Stevod was off on another tangent, but he's won me over.. Rodding maybe best defined by the spirit, not just the old school styling. The old school Americana styling likely came from the grass roots lack of wallet meaning old scrap cars were all that were accessible, and a lot of passion was required to make something that was both daft and great at the same time That or a spin off from hooch running across state lines ? Bit tippsy as we've been celebrating - no real idea what I'm talking about, but it sounds good in my head

Getting through the laquer the first time was a right PITA - but on the plus side, they seem to clean up quite easily this time - shame I'm too slack with upkeep for them to stay shiny when bare metal though

Stress levels back to normal.. my dog only had lymphoma (that's considered not too bad as cancers go ) - whipped the spleen out, no sign of mets or anything - it looks like he'll live a normal lifespan (he's already going on 13). Of course the remaining 'ouch' bit is, even with my staff discount, the bill is going to be a few *months* salary though ...But there's no price too high for pets as they are family And in other news, my car is going like a dream - full of beans at the mo I've nearly built up enough curiosity to go investigating loose O rings back in the fuel bucket again. And I nearly finished refurbing my summer GTR-D dishes - I'm going to fine grit / polish and lacquer this time when it's warmer as the wheel seal and polish bare metal approach really didn't turn out well to all the wheel polishers out there.. neglect is this But even after a bit of grit paper and Autosol, they start coming back again.. A bit more OCD and they'll come good
