  2. Don't ever post that pic again................ Please
  3. Compleate turd , I would far rather they spent OUR valuble time getting some of the MOT failures off the roads I see every day on the way to work! car with lights out, smoking, like someone has shuved several cigars up the exhaust pipe etc
  4. I see your point, but I stand by my assessment of the situation. there is more esoteric information and things to worry about, and if you don't have a MySpace page your doomed to ignorance. This is half the problem with the world more speed less haste. The real worry is how long will I be useful and a contributor to the future society. TBH this is the wrong day for me to tackle this as I am currently really starting to reassess my career, such that it is I now feel like the air traffic controller guy in Airplane, "picked the wrong day to give up sniffing glue....."
  5. I think to be fair that it's all the same thing. A level of expectancy as to a stand of living for a days work. The difference therefore is what people perception is of a fair days work for a fair days pay. The only other variable is the cost of living. I believe that we have some great smaller industries in this country where we excel for example in engineering. It's the heavy industry we are missing a trick on compared to the other developing country's. That was killed off by Thacher because if the unions not necassarly the workers. I know my words sound like you have hit a bit of a nerve, but the truth is, the one thing we do best in the UK is talk ourselves down about everything and anything. All we need is some positivity from the government and press for a change and the cost of getting to work lowered for example and that would be all the motivation I would need at this moment in time Sorry, to answer the orginal question as above you catch more flys with honey, blah, blah Who dreams up that shite anyway, it's the north Korenans you need to worry about, their factories dint make jam....
  6. I am not supprised no one has replied to your Post Vik, as the whole David Starky thing spring to mind. Whatever point of view you have on this subject looking at your video will ultimately come back to a youth culture issue, that way, demons lurk! I personally dont have kids and I dont know how they work, but what I do know there seems to be a direct link between how much stuff they have in relaition to there imagination. We have always been an ideas country, and the more things are done for you ie the easy access to TV, Internet and Wiki (for passing exams) the less imgination is required.
  7. Lol, that got me too for a second (with no manual in the car), the first time I drove a 370 and had to go an put some fuel in tank. Looked for the button, then thought to myself, lets see if there's a release on the flap. Much to the amusement of my co-pilot as we were heading off to do a rally. I got caught like this in a mercedes I had - I spent 10minutes walking around the car in the petrol station until someone took pity on me and just pressed the fuel filler cover You should try a MB Viano! They might have changed now as the 2011 car is out now, but the first time I tried to get in to the fuel replenishment area, I nearly ripped off all the surrounding trim in a fit of rage, before someone pointed out you had to open the passenger door first!?! Who thinks this s4!t up?
  8. Ah, the 1st of September - New on a '61 plate, must be a good sign!!
  9. Great news, all the very best with the new job
  10. Spot on. Only you can tailor your experience on your CV. We can give advice on presentation or wording, but not experience. First things first though, it sounds like you are a victim of workplace bullying. Ive had it myself twice. First thing you need to do is to make a note of everything this guy says and does which is threatening towards you. Speak to your HR if you can asap so they are aware of it. Then, if they do sack you, you can take them to a tribunal. I had it happen to me twice in a row! I joined a small company and for some reason the CEO took an instant dislike to me. She was a fat lazy old cow who actually had no idea how to run the business and was just milking it for her retirement fund. The company kept making loss after loss and all the investors wanted to know what was going on. Rather then resign, she took it upon herself to sack all the senior managers one by one, trying to blame them for her failures. Anyone who knew their stuff was sacked. And anyone who was non-threatening to her position like inexperienced managers she kept. She worked her way around all the directors until she came to me. Id done an excellent job, so we was unable to find any reason to sack me. So then she went the "we are restructuring, making some redundancies and your position is no longer needed" approach. Luckily I found another job quickly and moved elsewhere. But, the other managers she sacked, some of them took her to a tribunal and won unfair dismissal against the company. The company actually went bust 6 months later due to the CEO`s mis-management. Mate I feel for you. I have been in the motor trade for more years than I care to remember. The overall problem with it is that, the Industry moves on and spends money training the staff to a good level, but the owners don’t. They stagnate, and when you come up with something better, they get there pants in a bunch. I had the same thing a few years ago. I was head hunted (good), never saw the boss (better), did a good job turning around a failing business in to a very credible one. Then one day, one of my guys screwed something up (not that badly I might add) and he was fired, then I was fired for not firing him, and trying to hold a proper investigation first (i.e. how the Law dictates) I took them to court and won over £11k in damages which was OK, but most of that went to my solicitor. More importantly it devastated my confidence and TBH I never really recovered. My advice is always have one eye on the bigger better deal, the minute you think you are on side, they will drop you like a hot potatoe. Do what right for you, the days of staff loyally are long gone in our industry
  11. Very humbling, it was like that report on Top Gear the other week, when the guys where training for the Dakar rally.
  12. Being a bit of a "pie'd aphile" myself I can't believe I have missed this tread to date! Please see my humble contribution to all things pie below This was taken on board the USS Missouri ( where the japs got dealt up by the yanks after WW2 and more recently, in the film under siege). Now parked and clamped in Pearl Harbour!
  13. I know its slightly off topic, but Wouldn’t it be good if someone could invent a heads up display (like the BMW on the windscreen) That would display text messages. Because I get these more than calls on my own time and they are just as tempting to have a "Quick look" when driving but infinity more dangerous...
  14. +1 ... and setting off their washer jets when you are behind them Also on a Bike Holes IN the road, P!$$ me off
  15. Yes the mats 'an that arent standard, supprised there are not any in the car though - The valeters may have pinched them Check the tyre pressures for the noise, or to be fair it could be a tyre differance. I didnt think the boot mat made that much differance TBH
  16. Yeah, you see, these thing always end up getting used for other purposes. I took one look at this and thought that’s cool, 5 seconds later, how can I annoy.... a/ My wife b/ The dog c/ Any visitors to the house
  17. The 2 lane stretch of the M11 from Bishops Stortford to the A14 every single day, without fail has its average speed reduced to 55mph all the way up from this. They put in signs telling lorry drivers they couldnt do it, do they pay any attention, do they f ..... I also enjoy people waving at me to slow down when Im doing 40 in a 40 and flashing me when Ive gone into their lane to overtake something and pulled back in 5 seconds before they have passed me. Oh, and people who have to wander over two lanes when negotiating a roundabout despite me being right beside them Yes I had this very thing happen to me on the way to work this morning! The only good bit was when I Parp'd him out of my lane in a an Xtrail, he ws in a Polo - S4!t himself
  18. +1 another film I thought only I had seen Nop seen this one too, "First rule of Italian driving (removes the rear view mirror) Never worry about where you have been!" Raul Julia
  19. Oh Yes, a JCB on a duel carriage way that always fun! And lorry drivers over taking at half a mile an hour faster than the other lorry, then going up a 1 degree gradient in the road then being undertaken, just as slowly, by the other guy. repeat this five times over 25 miles, and wonder why road rage exists
  20. Yeah the Alfa one's are a bit poo. Mrs EH 370Z's Mito Hands Free is awful, I can hear an echo of me, loader than I can hear her. However, I suspect this is what she wants me to think
