  1. Sounds amazing. hmmm..... wonder how much for a sequential box
  2. Any chance of a photo of your installed head unit? Thanks mark I haven't set up the date etc since it was last installed so ignore that stuff lol
  3. Any chance of a photo of your installed head unit? Thanks mark I'll try to get one on Friday ..... then figure out how to post it up on here
  4. When using an iPhone, every start up after installation degraded the functionality of the phone function. After several visits by the installer and conference calls to Alpine technical we sussed it was a minor spike in the constant live feed during cranking. Taking a heavier feed direct from the fuse box in the footwell sorted the problem
  5. I used the Alpine double din ixa-w407bt. Very good unit but you MUST run a heavier constant live from the fuse box instead of using the original loom constant live. I found out the hard way! Works great with iPhone, iPod ( I have my iPod plugged in in the centre tray and my phone connects automatically (bluetooth). Works with all your phonebook etc. Great fit and integrates with your steering wheel controls. If you're in the south west London, north surrey area try Ian Mays at Quantum AV.
  6. My neighbour had an RE5 back in the 70's, he was for ever pushing it back home! Love the Kawa triples and the kettle, fond memories ! I'd happily have them (all on that stand apart from the RE5!) in my garage now but they are fetching crazy money now. Great photos, thanks for sharing. (scuttles off to check ebay and also wishes he hadn't sold all his bikes through the years!!)
  7. Love Oulton Park, I've done dozens of track days there on a bike but never tracked a car. Tempted though, just worry about trading paint with some hot head lol.

Mark at Abbey had a set I think, could be worth a call/pm/email!!
  9. I've done scores of track days on bikes, looks pretty real to me! Very good riding by someone who knows the track intimately.
  10. Walk ! 10 to 15 minutes depending on leg length/speed You REALLY don't want to drive the Z a mile only every trip, it'll kill it with bore wear and oil contamination. It'll be running on enrichment the whole time.
  11. Check out the postage costs! Good grief!!
  12. Mine tramlined worse than any car I've owned, even big American 4x4s, new tyres made it better but still felt I was 'steering' it all the time. Then I put wheel spacers on, loved the look but made the tram lining WAY worse. Abbey did a laser align job for me which helped but I think I'm going to have to sacrifice the looks and junk the wheel spacers. It really does seem to be in the nature of these cars (and many wide wheeled cars) to act like this.
  13. Valid point, plus by encouraging people to use them, surely they're dangerously close to suggesting you drink to just within the limit. Over here I believe the police won't breathelize you within 20 mins of having a drink? Very grey area I think.
  14. 28.5% of road deaths involved drunk drivers. Therefore 71.5% of road deaths involved sober drivers ....... surely it must be safer if everyone was drunk then?? And considering only a tiny percentage of road deaths involve excessive speed , then the world must be a safer place full of drunk, speeding motorists! Just kidding of course
  15. My motor felt much smoother after an Uprev re-map. I had a few other mods done too but I've noticed on other vehicles/bikes, that when I've sorted out the fuelling they can be much smoother.
  16. I can't believe someone just took his helmet off after a crash like that without paramedics checking him out first. Madness.
  17. You get a lot of water in an exhaust pipe. It's normal. It's just leaking from the joint. You actually get about a gallon of water for every gallon of petrol burnt. More for Diesel ! (6000 litres od CO2!
  18. Wouldn't like to get that on my paintwork!
  19. The 407 I use is great with the iPhone too now but freaks out if I try to use voice dial Personally I'd stick with Alpine for the amp etc. Partly because I like their products, partly because they'll know what works best with their different components and you've more chance of fixing any issues quickly than speaking to 2 or 3 different companies.
  20. Bad time to sell. Fuel prices, the weather and general down turn means people aren't buying 'toys' as much so the prices are crap at the moment. Can you not afford a cheap 'family car' as well as the Z? Better to spend a £k or 2 on another car than lose 3 or 4 on your Z imo.
  21. It could be rattling just on start up as the engine itself will move around more when cold due to the way engines fire on enrichment. I'd take a look along it's length and look for any very close fitment issues.
  22. If you look after it (proper coolant and cleaning salt/crud off the outside regularly) there's no reason it shouldn't outlast the car barring physical damage like stones or trees
  23. For peace of mind and so you know 'where you stand' regarding proper servicing, I always give all my bikes and cars a full blown service when I get them, then start a normal service regime from then. Apart from the Z that is, then I entrusted that to Abbey Motorsport to give it a thorough going over.
  24. I had a Clifford on my Dodge Ram hemi that remote started. Loved it. Warmed up on cold mornings, cooled down on hot days
