  1. When finance companies take cars back, they take them back.... they don't phone to say they're coming in a weeks time to repo it! Also he says it comes with a 90 day warranty on all parts. Sound very dodgy. Another Gumtree scam I think!
  2. Well you went to the right place. They've done a lot on mine over the last year and I'm looking forward to picking mine up this week after a blower and re- map etc
  3. black 350 LL57 *** i think turning into greyhound Rd off of Lind Rd, anyone here? If so, what exhaust is that? I keep seeing an Azure turning into Lind Rd from the Water Gardens too??
  4. My GT didn't have Rays originally. I believe they were an option on the GT package.
  5. I recognise that dyno room! Were you not talked into a TT while you were there?
  6. Happens so often. Check out some old footage of John Force. The man's had more BBQs than an Aussie beach bum
  7. Thanks Dave, interesting read. I'm more used to dealing with bikes which also have this problem but I didn't realise that was the problem here too. Cheers.
  8. Why the extra noise? What's causing that?
  9. Sorry Mark, I must've missed that bit of info :-) Andlid, I think Mark my have done some photos as it was installed, i'll have to check AsianUK it's a DE motor.
  10. I know! But I used to struggle to keep it in the 20's now after 200 miles I'm showing 35.3 mpg. lol... you know your OEM fuel PG Gauge does not work now! It takes a signal off injector pulse width and now you have larger injectors pulse width for a given amount of fuel is less and the gauge reads high. My gauge reads in the 40's mpg when I worked out 23mph in reality! Interesting! That would explain it then!!
  11. I'm hazarding a guess at a 350z Bingo. 54 plate UK GT to be precise.
  12. I know! But I used to struggle to keep it in the 20's now after 200 miles I'm showing 35.3 mpg.
  13. ... well, bedding in the new motor! After buying Ian's SC kit last year Tony 'Daddy Abbey' Gillam has built me a forged bottom end motor to mount the SC on. The motor was fitted last week and Mark put a 'safe' map on it and a 5k rpm limiter so I could go and put a few miles on it before it goes back in to have the other SC pulley fitted and a final map. Mark was happy to run it in on the dyno but he knows what a pussy I am when it comes to this sort of thing so he let me do it my way and run it for a few hundred on the road. Along with the motor there's decats and Y pipe, 370 headers and plenum spacer. I've got to say, despite being on a lower boost, lower limiter and me probably being overly mechanically sympathetic ...... it rocks! Over taking has never been so easy and the intake noise/exhaust is amazing. I'm also getting far better fuel consumption figures than before even using boost a lot. Really smooth to drive and such linear power! Very happy bunny Really looking forward to getting it fully sorted next week. Huge thanks to Abbey Motorsports
  14. Tanked up at Godstone today with V Power but the station is closing on the 16th (I think) for a refit.
  15. Abbey did this for me about a year back, it's been fine. It'll be interesting to see if holds up to the new 'extra' power I have now
  16. I know Mark has talked to UpRev about the tc issue. As standard it cuts spark and closes the throttle and is, in my opinion, total over kill which is why mine is off all the time. As far as I'm aware at the moment UpRev aren't addressing this issue. I'm sure Mark will chip in when he's back in work mode
  17. Camouflaging your car .... bet the insurance companies would love that! "he pulled straight out in front of me!" "I'm not surprised Sir, you were camouflaged "!
  18. I run my own motorcycle business, repairs, servicing, mot's etc. Rapidly approaching the wrong end of my forties. Divorced and now engaged and thankfully still a 20 something year old on the inside I really don't think there will be a stereotypical Z owner judging by those I've seen
  19. One of my pet hates is people's lack of respect for other people's property, especially cars. To so many they are just a form of conveyance, so what does it matter if you whack your door into the car next to you Mark at Abbey is now running a Juke Dig T as a test bed for tuning. He's already piling on the HP
  20. If that's the advert I've seen they are just cut outs fitted by goodness knows who, monkey or mechanic? The engine you're buying could be halfway knackered or worse. I've just rebuilt one that had 30 odd thousand miles on it and it had really bad fuel wash, smoked like a trooper apparently. My own engine has 30,000m on it and is a real smoker. It's only the cats that hide the fact! If you do want to go the rebuild route, speak to Abbey Motorsport. They'll do you a stock rebuild, not everything has to be a 2000hp monster They actually dropped a motor into mine last night
  21. So they lost the supercharger then? Really nice install. Look forward to seeing the numbers!
  22. I saw it there the other day when I dropped mine off. Very very tidy installation it looks too. I wasn't jealous at all .... honest!! To the OP, it would be worth calling Abbey as they may be rebuilding a motor at the moment. Worth a try!
  23. You've more patience than me!! Think you may have rubbed your number plates too hard though
  24. Yes, thanks for that. It is a 2006 1050! Not wishing to sound too thick but what is the can bus system? I will pop it along to a dealer and have those things looked at, are the clock expensive to replace? Many thanks for your help central (or car) area network, dreadful invention that makes all sensors and sub-systems 'talk' to each other via a central point and if one of them is having a bad day all the other come out in sympathy. Well, it's not as bad as all that but there used to be a lot of problems with it and as they work on minute voltages, any corrosion/damage throws a big spanner in the works. New clocks are very expensive but beware of used ones that could well be as bad as yours. Unfortunately there were a couple of years that this was a major problem, and yours is one of them Hope you can get it sorted relatively cheaply
  25. I'm guessing from your problems that this is a 1050 speed triple? Possibly a few years old? They had major trouble with the can bus system and corrosion problems in the clocks due to water ingress/condensation which caused the dash functions to fail. As for the running issue, as long as it's been serviced recently so that you know the plugs, air filter and valve clearances are good and throttle bodies are clean and balanced, a re map at your local Triumph dealer should sort that out. I don't 'think' the running issue will be connected to the dash problem unless it's so bad it's not reading sensors correctly. I would thought if a sensor is 'out' (water, maf ) it would throw a cel.
