I know this problem was caused by me, but can someone shine some light on how to correct it please???
Basically my battery went flat, so I got a replacement one, easy!
I made the assumption that it was the same as the old one, but it turns out the terminals were the wrong way round!!
Needless to say, assumption is the mother of all f*** ups!
Clamps touched terminals, sparks and a pop.
So, I got the battery changed for one with the terminals the right way round.
On fitting it there was no power and I spotted one of the built in fuses in the positive terminal had blown.
Desperate to get her back on the road, I took a fuse holder and connected around the blown fuse, checking which terminals to connect it to first and putting in a fuse to match the blown one.
Well, it seemed to work fine, last weekend I did a number of trips, turning it off and on etc, no problem at all. Tried all the elec things, windows, lights, air con etc, all fine. Only thing not to work was the stereo!!
Also added a grounding kit at the same time.
This weekend has been somewhat different! The fuse has now blown 3 times when turning the engine off and once whilst idling at traffic lights. And the engine warning light has come on the dash.
Any ideas greatly accepted.
Cheers
