Looks fantastic mate, the black crinkle paint made a really positive change in the engine bay too good shout

I think a google on a list of lawyers would be more beneficial than posting here...

Lovely car! Knew you would all come around to R33s in the end 😉 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Definitely the best colour, you will come around!

Because an autobahn is quite a fair bit larger than an A road, doesnt have large trees running up and down the sides of it, it has crash barriers designed to absorb impacts of 70mph+ has wider run off spaces. There is actually an advised speed limit for the autobahn, and a lot of people choose to adhere to it, and yes going at 150 on an autobahn is more dangerous than doing 70 on a UK motorway hence the more deaths that happen on it. People cannot call you up on it as legally you are not breaking the law, but doing 129mph in a road set and designed to 70mph is just dangerous driving and I think Dan hinted above that the OP could come into that category which is not just a fine.
-
Incorrect, unless I speed down the wrong roads. Sure yours didnt have rustling bushes and arable land either side?! But you get my point, comparing this to Autobahns is chalk and cheese.
-
Autobahns have a worse safety record than UK motorways, they also have between 4 and 6 lanes. The average speeds by cars on Autobahns is between 70 and 90 mph as recorded by their highways department. There is a big misconception that everyone tanks down them at 150 mph, the majority do not. Travelling on an A road at 129mph gives you no error margin - people say it is safe, its an illusion, no road is safe, at any speed. No driver controls the entire environment they drive in, ever. The difference is when something does go wrong you certainly give yourself a chance at a lower speed, 129mph pretty much means certain death in the instance of anything happening - I for one could not allow my 3 year old boy to grow without a dad because I thought it would be fun to hammer down an A road at nearly twice the speed limit. And no OP, I do not put my foot down like that, I very rarely speed, when I do I kick myself in the backside and remind myself what an idiot I have been. From what I have read, you cannot see the issue at hand here, and I would expect you would do exactly the same thing again once the ban is done. That really makes me quite sad and clearly the system here in the UK doesnt have the required effect.

It's all in a cutting. Fences up top and armco on h/shoulder & central. Fields bordering it are arable land too. The only way to get down there is from the road ... If someone wants to play peekaboo with cars atleast at 129mph it will be certain rather than possible vegetative state. Sorry pal I don't agree, the point is that at that speed from nearly half a kilometer away you are caught at 129mph, if you missed the copper, you miss everything else. If an animal runs out in front of you and you flip into a ditch and kill yourself think of what impact that has on your friends and family. What if a fault comes of your car, tyre blow out, there are so many things that at that speed end catastrophically. Too many times you hear stories of people who think that all is safe so they want to speed, too many times its associated with people being killed. I'm not going to preach but I really hope whatever gets thrown at you in the coming months you do actually reflect on this rather than aim for the shortest ban possible and then jump back in and hammer it up an A road again.

No, just bought some myself off ebay for £3..!

To be frank, I think 99% of people that see the car wouldnt know their Volks from their Rota's - anyway, been there and done it with Volks

I know mate just pulling your leg! The red was a better match, but was not that bright in all honesty, might have been some duff LEDs.
-
Well thats a big thumbs up from Dan anyone else?
-
Decided to switch the LEDs again to ice blue, think I prefer that. Also, stickers/no stickers?

Ha yes! happy birthday Adrian mate!

That's all ive been trying to say........ How does the ecu know what power the engine is producing from one day to the next?..... I know, but the rest of my comment still stands, that it takes a fair few miles to dial back the fueling and breathing to the mapped ECU levels so this will not be realised immediately on the dyno which was Dan's point he has been trying to put across. Certainly all those mods on another car without the learning ECU you could argue would have given more than 10bhp, so you have to ask yourself why that is? In that they will not operate fully without the uprev that much is clear and the evidence is there. Also that they do not give the big bhp jumps you should see as the evidence also shows just a 10bhp increase. What is missing is the evidence that the zed ECU dials it back, but to be honest, on weight of evidence alone in that thread, it leans fairly strongly to what everyone has been saying that you will not get the benefit of the mods and certainly once the ecu learns, you will lose what benefit you do see.
-
Interesting read here http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92887-before-before-after-dynos-abbey/ it doesnt actually answer the question fully from skim reading it, but shows with additional mods it got a small amount of additional bhp on the day without uprev then gained much more with it applied - but it doesnt take into account what Dan is saying how the learning ECU will dial back the air fuel mix over time to factory levels. What it does say though is that the uprev makes a big difference, which would make sense, as it is just a licenced tune up of the car.
-
Import, although I do not want to derail the thread, I am pretty sure the ECU on a Toyota from 1995 works differently to the Zed.
-
I would dispute this, my 20 year old Celica which came out the factory on paper with 255bhp with an aftermarket exhaust and no other power mods gets 281bhp. I find it hard to believe that my exhaust added nearly 30bhp on top of that paper number in addition to 20 years of use which would have eroded bhp from the original factory level. My only conclusion I can come to is that it came out with more than the 255 it was meant to have on paper. I guess I could prove this by changing the exhaust out back to something stock (if there are any left) and running it on a dyno, if its above 255 then it must have done - but I really do not have the inclination, however Dan (Ekonas) offer is a good one, go for it.

...white Skyline GTR on its way back ?
-
Couple of websites do this also on the .gov page

http://www.350z-uk.c...ed/page__st__20 Well not really, Jap cars are well known amongst people in the know to have varying levels of power out the factory - R35s are famous for it many coming in with much more power as standard than the paper value. TBF also, quite why people come on here, ask opinion, then just tell them to prove it is quite beyond me. Just take the advice, if you feel like responding fine but this is advice based on personal experience as well as the advice passed to them by professional tuners. The advice has been given, I don't get asked to prove everything I say day to day in life, I don't think people need to here either, it's up to you to take it or leave it or as you say go away do it yourself and blow everyone out of the water with your new superior knowledge.

Check for the underseal as mentioned, but be aware to look for a bill to show it undersealed at import not done to cover rust after being here for some time. If it came through a respectable import company the speedo should be converted so all running in miles, the speed limiter can be removed via uprev but if you have no plans to track it then its irrelevant really. You need the fog light on the back, often importers just chuck on an ugly square one that hangs from the bumper which people take off once its through the IVA but be aware its an MoT fail. But really for Zed specific, check all the spec, there were multitudes of options in Japan whereas you have GT or Non GT here. There are lots of myths around imports, lots of them false, on my second import car now and both have been fantastic, in great condition and well looked after.

AFAIK not being an expert but running lower RON on older Zeds will cause longer term damage via knock/detonation but newer Zeds have knock control and can retard the timing - Mark at Abbey once showed me a destroyed zed engine that ran for too long on 95 - ultimately though you will not get the best performance or MPG out of the car mapped to higher RON and running it on 95, you wont save all the difference at the pump as your mpg will likely reduce. I always find scrimping on fuel confusing, buying a heavy car with a V6 mapped to 97 RON means a sizable outlay in fuel, the mindset should be that you are putting in 97 at the pump.

I know, it was just light hearted humour.
