    Livid!

I didn't realise just how much damage an egg shell could do until I saw the results on my son's friend's car. It had actually broken the paint in circles radiating out from the point of impact. IDIOTS!!

    Dynamat

Do you mind me asking where you got it from?
  4. Sounds like a great project and look forward to seeing restoration posts. You say there are some cheap eu ones How many bulkhead panels would need changing? The only other thing I would say is that for me with the e type it was and still is a steep and expensive learning curve especially in terms of budgeting. I allowed for instance 2.5k for paint but from the quotes I have been getting I am not even close at double that! Restoring the body, it has been all the little bits that add up. So far on the body doing all the work myself, I' ve spent in excess of 6k. From a restoration point of view the rotisserie has been the most useful. That aside, I am enjoying every bit of it and to think that you will end up with a car that every nut and bolt is how you want it will be a great achievement. Good luck with your search and feel free to pm me if you think any of my limited knowledge is of use.
  5. It was his liberal and level headed views on joiners, plumbers and the disabled that I miss!
  6. How apt that my phone should decide you are Dodgy rather than Doogy!
  7. More like Keith Floyd does joinery.Intrigued Dodgy.
  8. Make it four! Fantastic work Dave, very impressed.
  9. Looking good mate, sorry you had so much trouble with the paintwork. I'm dreading that stage and have even resorted to tutorials from Keyser for priming.
  10. Cheers Dave, ( JAAAAAAG sub forum honoury President) likewise made me smile. Not sure it's the "sexiest" car Jaguar have ever made, but I am biased.
  11. Welcome along The only thing I can think of is to make sure it has had the steering lock recall done which I think the2010 model falls into. I'm sure others will be along to tell you more.
  12. That's a shame mate. To be honest it's only now mine has grown up I can afford to do stuff like this.
  13. More progress, the drivers sill is now on. This was a major pain as the door has to be trial fitted and the front lower wing offered up to get all the gaps perfect. Every time you get one bit lined up, it alters another part In the end I had to go and buy yet more clamps. Once the sill was on I could repair the bottom of the A post. I'm getting a little bit more confident with the priming now however a little over confidence did result in a small run. Lesson learnt, if you do get a run don't try to cover it up with more yet more paint, you just get a bigger run Wait til it's dried, sand it down and re do it. The eagle eyed may notice the spot welds at the front end of the sill. Just like the factory Really pleased with that. The spot welder is definitely my favourite toy. Made a start on the passenger side sill strengthener and primed it. Hopefully the passenger outer sill should be easier now I've done one. Oh and Chris (Marzman) next time you call round for a brew, bring your scruffy clothes That's all for now folks and thanks for following.
  14. Very nice and @ TomLum, my son has a 13 plate Kawaski ER6F is 21 and pays just under £300 a year.
  15. I'm no expert but with that sort of impact would it be worth getting some sort of geometry check done as well just to make sure you haven't damaged something else? Welcome to the forum and all the best getting it sorted
  16. Brilliant and funnily enough very helpful! I've just come in from the garage after struggling with a curved flange repair panel for the e type and now I know how. Cheers
  17. I like it and as you say, the fit seems to be good. Still super impressed with the quality of paintwork you turn out. You'll be putting in planning for a proper spray booth next.
  18. Read the rest of the plate, the full number plate has provided a good laugh for the last few years. Even better!
  19. Love it Chris! Especially your new personal reg "DULL" . What made you choose that?
  20. Cheers mate. It's definitely an art! Hopefully next attempt will be a bit more relaxed. Look forward to your updates.
  21. I'm assuming that if you pay by PayPal you should be alright, just watch the time limitations for opening a dispute/claim. I've bought stuff from the States no problem, though Customs charges seem a bit hit and miss. And as above and his feedback, there might be fitment issues.
  22. "Safe" in what sense? Will it arrive?, Will it fit? Will it come flying off and cause a multiple car pile up? Will people laugh at me? Sensible answers to follow.... Bit of negative feedback ref fitting / quality, communication and delivery. Doesn't Tarmac have a source for these?
