Yeh, that seems to be the key. From what I've read, the best people to do it are a bodyshop so that the car can be dried out in a heated booth first. Also it helps if its's warm as the wax/oil goes on thinner and gets into all the hard to get areas. I'm sure the guys at Abbey could advise.

I was thinking of getting the whole of the underside done. There was a post at the time which recommended something better than waxoil. I suppose getting the the various cavities done would help as well. I know when I started the Jag, www.rust.co.uk came recommended and I have since bought stuff from them.

Looking good considering it's getting on for 8 years old as you say. I know which bit you mean now lol ! The big letter "W", I took it off rubbed it down and painted it with satin smoothrite. I was considering having it waxoyled or something underneath but as it never went out in the rain never got round to it. Can't wait for your update on how it drives Edit, what did the dyno show and did you ever get round to fitting the later airbox inlet coversion kit?

My son had a Yamaha WR125x as his first bike. It is a testament to the indistructability of the things. In the three years of ownership he came off it several times, decided it was ideal for offroad, had it serviced twice, cleaned it three times, used it every day for work, used the rev limiter as a guide to changing gear, only put oil or petrol in it when it rattled or ran out, got me to change the pads only when they had left big grooves in the discs, left it out in the rain because he couldn't be bothered to put it away, and it never once failed to start or broke down. I hasten to add that non of the above he gets from me! He now has a Kawasaki 650 ERF which I'm glad to say he looks after a bit better.

a big fine Possibly not even that if Nick Freeman is representing him. Just read up about him. Christ he gets a lot of celeb's off their fines etc. A fair few of them though still get done, just less than they would normally. Will be interesting to see what happens to Derek. I think the footballers round here have him on speed dial! ( pun intended )

Just strap this to the passenger headrest and tell them you've just had the latest miniature onboard camera fitted it's got online 24hr remote monitoring

As above, plus we get ours from Toolstation. We use the led ones you mention for under cupboard lighting on kitchens and display units etc, as mentioned, probably not suitable for lighting a shed. If you get a strip light, try to get one with a cover incase you bash it by mistake. Failing that just get an cheap IP rated outside light suitable for low energy bulbs. Again, Toolstation. https://www.google.c...386606156939248

Great pics @ Keyser, loving the door stop. (gates at side of house)

Very interesting, they make it look easy. My son was showing me this process for his bike fairings. Is it protected with a clear lacquer sprayed on after?

In good hands there by all accounts, It's where I would have taken it.

Don't worry, he's on the other end of the 24hr Restoration Crisis Line

Bizz's LS3 6.2l V8 350Z Drift Car Project - IT CAN DRIFT!! :)

Great pics and progress! Coming together now. My day has involved mainly rust and a bit more rust. -
Cheers, if you go back a couple of pages there's a bit more detail and a few more pics of the other side. I've welded stainless sheet at work before, but this was a lot harder! Because the metal is thin and butted together it burns away when you try to weld it. That's why I'm using the green bonnet to practice on. Given that one of the major costs of restoration is the bodywork I figured I better start learning. Besided that I've actually enjoyed doing it.

Watch out for Wizurd's forthcoming post/update, his car is going in to Abbey this weekend for some of the mods you've mentioned inc the uprev. Welcome to the forum.

 I best slip another one in...... Got bored drilling floor spot welds, tried to bribe my son with beer to help, but " it's Friday night and no one works on a Friday night! I'll help you tomorrow" ( reality being that he will either be too hung over or found some poor unfortunate female or both ) So decided to finish the other side of the bonnet repair.. Before After

Cheers guys, As regards completion date Wasso, I was hoping to have it done for next summer but I think that is unrealistic now. I am known to say at work on projects when people ask how long left, " It will go as fast as you throw money and men at it " These words are never truer than with this! I've started drilling the spot welds out of the floor panels this evening, a thankless task! As this is new to me, if anyone, especially the bodyshop guys know an easy method, feel free to speak up. And RT if you want to come and drill some out, be my guest, I'll even supply the biscuits!

Temper Orange - Mid Life Crisis

Welcome along, 45 when I bought mine. -
You would like to think that at dealerships, depending on the car only more senior mechanics would be allowed to road test them. Fair enough, moving about, valeting etc is different. In these Health and Safety conscious times, I cant let lads use certain equipment without training, just for insurance purposes if nothing else. A car at the end of the day is just another piece of equipment and without adequate training you shouldn't be allowed to use/test it at work.

Headlights (pre facelift) - Remove Orange Reflectors?
leonk replied to timb2010's topic in 350Z Modifications
The most important thing is to make sure they are re sealed again properly to prevent water ingress and condensation. I went round mine with black sikaflex (available on e bay) just to make sure. I used a heat gun to split them. There is a post somewhere if you search or a link to the US site. Try You Tube I seem to recall a few vids on there for other cars but same principle. -
Does she now which end to put the batteries in..!! She asked me to ask where the straps attached?

Ha Ha, I was bricking it rotating it the first time, hence the over engineered locking mechanisms at both ends and paranoid extra welds and gussets. In the end, I was actually quite surprised how easily it does rotate. As I said in my pm it was your posts that motivated me to get it up on the rotisserie so thanks!!.

I was in a BMW main agent service department a few years ago and couldn' t help overhearing a heated conversation with the manager. The owner of an M3 was brandishing a speeding ticket for the day his car was in for a service. 110mph!!
