  1. A few years ago I (miraculously) got sign off from the now Wife, to create an engine coffee table for the lounge. With help from a number of local people, this all got wrapped up quite quickly and the end result is below. Still looks as good now as it did a few years ago! I've been hankering after a side table for a while, and have generally been on the look out for a F1 wheel. Picked one up off a forum member and have been putting this together quietly for a few months (got married in the middle so was pre-occupied somewhat!). I finished up the side table last night so thought I'd share some pics. The wheel was race used when I purchased it, so has some associated marks and scratched to the face, also the outer drum was pretty rough. My paint guy sorted this out with a full re-spray in bright silver, inside and out. Once painted I also touched in the embossed text with red paint around the top face of the wheel - just to add some colour. I sourced a suitably sized piece of toughened glass for the top, fitted some LEDS on the inner face (because why not!). The final touch were some custom made decals to match the period sponsors of the car - which is a 2002-2004 Toyota F1 car. So bonus JDM cool points to boot! Thanks
  2. That works well against the Grey. I do love a good side stripe
  3. Mine is also manual, this is odd. On mine just clutch in, tap the start button and it then lights up through acc to ign then the engine fires up. I occasionally see a message on the dash saying no key....but then try again and it's all fine (likely my battery is dying). You have the key with you in the car yes? It's also fussy and doesn't start until less the key is inside the cabin.
  4. Welcome, nice looking car To start her up, put the clutch in and press the start buttons once. No need to press and hold the button, no need to press the brakes.
  5. Aren't the new 2018 handles a dark grey, as opposed to black? (Still look nice though). I've had my nismo's handles painted black by my paint guy. Mine is a daily and still look immaculate. Surely as long as the paint work is good, and you aren't super rough/heavy handed it will last? And for the price Nissan will want for 2x2018 door handles, I could get my handles repainted for life of the car
  6. Minor update here. Finally got the Nismo to my mates paint shop for some wheel work. Had them repainted to remove the ugly-ass diamond cut edges - still have no idea what Nissan were thinking here. Had the whole wheel painted in slightly lighter gunmetal gloss, looks so much better. Next up may be spacers, pending me getting a good on them
  7. @Mikevv was selling his, not sure on the situation.
  8. Thread revival....But I dug this out of the man cave recently and been having a play on Gran Turismo. We got married in June and since around Jan my man-cave has been FULL of wedding related decorations. I haven't seen the XBOX or anything all year. That's soon to change. I'm also looking into the next project which will likely be a refresh of a old Sega Game Gear, with some tweaks. May or may not sell the PiStation build to fund the habit, will see. How did you get on @SuperStu ? Or are you still getting side tracked just playing the games
  9. The roundabout at the top of Ferndown Industrial Estate is popular. When we had the bungalow we used to hear them all the time practising until the small hours
  10. Sorry bud, TOTALLY forgot about this! my bad.
  11. They look nice decent quality mats! How were they if you don't mind?
  12. Great write up and pics We did a Euro trip a good few summers back, similar route in reverse. Reims, Monaco, Italy, Stelvio, Germany etc. I really enjoyed the Ferrari tour and museum, also had a cheeky drive in a 458.....as they say, when in Rome Maranello
  13. Good friends, good food and good weather. Top afternoon out Thanks to all.
  14. I have a Nismo US front plate holder that I'm not going to be using anymore....but i think they are slightly different fit?
  15. Might be some breakers on eBay, but you'd have to check condition. Dare I say it try Nissan directly, some of their parts are very cheap (others not so much!)
  16. Back from honeymoon now (boo!). Will check with the new wife, be good if we can pop along
  17. Yep all good thanks, Martin. It's just like the one I had on the old GT (which is a good thing). However, Nissan's new idea of adding fake engine noise into the cabin is really starting to get on my nerves. Whatever was wrong with just dropping the window a little and enjoying the REAL noise! I'm doing some digging and there might be a way to get this turned off by a dealer.
  18. I'm generally not a big fan of these. But must say I do like the wheels/colour combo going on here
  19. Well....turns out you can have too much of a good thing....who knew!! EDIT - found a pic of the guy selling it.
  20. Just saw this sorry. I just used a regular grommet but ensured it was a snug fit. There's no worry of water getting into the car though should it not fit, as the hole runs outside the boot seal.
  21. Such great roads. Snowdon area is also fun, you likely know, but the Evo Triangle isn't too far from there. We did it a few summers ago in the misses' Evo V. Great few days
