  1. Will be interested to see what you think.
  2. I would be interested in the answer as well. More likely to get an objective opinion on here.
  3. Thanks. Serves me right for not reading it properly.
  4. Maybe I'm missing the point or haven't read everything but why would a meeting be necessary to resolve this issue? Isn't the meeting a bit or a red herring?
  5. My last Alfa was red - no problems with that My 1992 Toyota is red and that is now light pink So the moral of the story is - buy an Alfa
  6. Running a Supercar in Rallycross.
  7. Been many times but not this year - went to Members meeting in spring. Am big fan of all Goodwood events including breakfasts.
  8. Unless your physical abilities are compromised I can't really relate to age at all at either end of the spectrum. It annoyed me when people said I was too young to do certain things in my career (I ignored them) and more advanced age as a barrier per se annoys me now. I bought my Second Caterham when I was 53 and an Elise when 57. Equally I wouldn't just avoid an XK8 because it's known as an "old Man's car" - I don't give a damn about all these labels. Neither did it bother me that I once had an orange 2CV. Our Regional Director was on a visit of the area - I was the local Branch Manager in Bermondsey at the time. I bought the 2CV because I felt I could park it anywhere and no-one would nick it . Various people told me I "couldn't possibly take him on a tour of Docklands in the "that" (the 2CV). When I did so, the aforesaid Director said it was the most fun he'd had in a long time. Some years later, when I took a dodgy stress-related turn in my career and wanted to change direction massively he was the one who helped me do it.
  9. I suspect I'm older than you and I'd get one. Just can't afford it. Best not to analyse too much. Just go with your instinct. What's the worst that can happen?
  10. At that price....hmmmm....interesting. Am I right in thinking there are stronger/better IMS's that can be fitted as a precaution - would all in cost be around £1,500 if a specialist did it?

Very good point re visibility. I found that the viewpoint from the Westie/caterhams/Elise was a significant issue on road. Not often mentioned. You would have the acceleration and nimbleness to overtake but couldn't see far enough ahead due to crest/amoeba or similar. Also good point re drains or broken road surfaces...also influences me now even though jag glides imperiously over most stuff.
  12. As long as I am on this earth I will never understand why a business person would respond so defensively. Surely the members here represent a major business opportunity. Equally, concerns and complaints are an opportunity. People realise things can go wrong....it's how you respond to it that matters. Often a complaining customer can be turned into a major advocate by the effectiveness and sincerity of the response. Imagine how different that reply could have been and what a positive impact it might have had. If only.....
  13. I would have taken that price....to save further time and effort.
