    Sun Roof

Most cars now have A/C and few manufacturers have a sunroof option. Had a few cars with factory fitted sliding, tilting sunroofs, mainly Fords, and they all sprung leaks at one stage. Pete
  2. Which reminds me, the lady that runs the local animal rescue centre (Anne Owen, she got an MBE in the last honours list) drives a Crossfire and she must be at least 70. The first time I ever visited the centre, mid 1980's, I had to wait around for a Mrs Rice to turn up and when she did I was amazed that she rolled up in a Fiat X1/9 and that she must have been at least 80 . Pete
  3. That's good to hear. Any idea what caused the injury? Pete
  4. Cats are very resilient creatures and can live for months if not years fending for themselves. One of my cats went missing on February 28th. Despite a widespread search there was only one positive sighting and that was about a quarter of a mile away on March 3rd. Then by sheer chance while out walking/searching I bumped into a lady out walking her dog. We got talking and I explained I was looking for my cat that had vanished some 7 weeks previously. It turned out that she had seen our cat several times the last sighting just 3 days before. She lives in a block of cottages maybe a mile away. Although there have been no more sightings I haven't given up hope of finding her. The main problem is that cats, especially country cats, adopt a more nocturnal lifestyle while living rough and I don't really want to go poking around close to isolated properties late at night. Sometimes cats just get adopted by a new household and never return and sometimes they don't get handed in to an animal rescue centre for months. If your cat is micro chipped then there's a good chance it'll eventually be returned so don't give up hope just yet. Pete
  5. Congrats BTW, you are the only survivor from the May 2011 run , although Chris and myself did show our faces on Saturday . Pete
  6. I will try and have a nice car until I feel I'm not safe enough to be on the roads. Could be 5/10/15 years away, just can't say. Pete
  7. Highly unlikely unless he was sick (or a smallish kitten). Foxes hunt animals that can't harm them and although a fox may well prevail in a fight with a cat instinct tells them that a cat can do a fair bit of damage to it. There's plenty of videos on You Tube showing fox/cat encounters and you can see how foxes are quite cautious when faced with a cat. Regarding a lost cat you should check out some of the lost and found cat sites on the internet and also any animal rescue centres in your area, data goes back for years on most sites. Pete
  8. Yes, we should be there around the time the Saturday run gets back . Pete
  9. Enjoy the weekend guys . Looks like it'll be totally dry in North Wales for Friday, Saturday and Sunday . Pete
  10. Only the police have access to who has been on awareness courses and this information is held on the police computer. As I understand it, a roadside check by the Police will not show up a speed awareness course, presumably this will only show up on a secure terminal...at least that's what I've heard. Pete
  11. You have to be a fanatical F1 fan to watch races like yesterdays, luckily I am . Pete
  12. It's been a pattern for several elections that the polls have underestimated the conservative vote, happened famously in 1970 and again in 1992 where labour leads of 3 or 4% on election day not only vanished but turned into a conservative majority government. The first election I stayed up all night for was in 1964 where labour had a big lead right up to election day and it turned out really, really tight. They also got it wrong in 2010 (by a smaller amount). Polls got it way wrong on the Scottish Independence poll, I can only presume that people simply don't tell the truth. Pete
  13. Spot on, Tories hammered away at this and I think that this persuaded just enough voters in the marginals to vote Tory. There was actually a bigger swing towards the Conservative party in the marginals than in the safe seats in parts of England. TBH, I seriously considered changing my vote to stop an SNP/Labour gov't but didn't in the end couldn't bring myself to do it. I did however not vote for the party I voted for in 2010. In this area there was a swing to labour, Chester and Wirral both changed hands and the odious Esther Mcvey lost her seat . Next few years will be interesting, can Dave contain his right wing back benchers, can Labour find a decent leader, will Scotland leave The U.K? Pete
  14. I've not hit anything large but many years ago a mate of mine hit a pig at around 40 mph............in a Lotus 7 . He was O.K, but the car and pig were destroyed. Pete
  15. Looks to be the same cubby as mine, if it is then it won't fit a facelift. What you see is known as a "Nurrish Nav" named after its creator Dave Nurrish a member on here. He sold over 50 of these but stated that it wouldn't fit a facelift. Sadly, the thread about this build has not been archived for some reason. If the door is a slightly different shade to the remainder of the console then its only good for a pre facelift. Pete

    A55 crash

Happened on The A55 in North Wales last Saturday. No other vehicles involved and driver not too badly injured amazingly. Anyone know what car it is? Pete
  18. Sadly, I'm not going to be able to make the drives this year. I know I've left it quite late as I've been hanging on hoping my back problem would improve but I've concluded that anything much over the hour of driving is just going to hurt too much. I will however be in attendance on Saturday afternoon as its only a 20 minute drive. Pete
  19. Yeah, I live in the Buckley/Mold/Deeside area. My address says Northop Hall even though its a 5 mile drive away Pete
  20. Welcome to the forum . Whereabouts in North Wales are you? Pete

    GT-Four

Well I live in the middle of nowhere but upset the only neighbour I really have by walking around the edge of the field they rent, stuck up woman called it a paddock, jeez its an overgrown field, they don't actually use it but said I was invading her privacy. Blimey I was at least 250 yards from her rented house. This is the same neighbour that didn't even bother to pop around to ask if we were O.K when we got snowed in for almost a week in 2013, keeping in mind we're both over 60 and the nearest shop is like 3 miles away. Yes, we had an MR2 Turbo as well, sadly the turbo went in a big way and the garage that fixed it for me couldn't source a replacement. After 3 weeks we had to bite the bullet and go to Toyota and that cost almost half the value of the car. Hadn't done that many miles either 60,000 ish from memory. Pete
  23. Yeah, paid him for the mirror mod but he never sent it to me Pete
  24. It's not a standard feature, no. In standard guise the mirrors only fold with the use of the switch. On U.K cars you're right but I think it was standard (or maybe an option?) on JDM's. Pete
  25. From memory, factory fitted Nismo kit added about 3k to the list price. Pete
