Morning peeps, Expensive weekend. Yesterday I had a Blackvue DR900X-2CH Plus 4K Inc Neo 8+ Battery Pack installed. I also ordered the following... Front luggage liner Rear GTS lights Porsche Guards Red seat belts 19"Boxster S alloys with Michelin PA4 tyres 19mm impact socket sleeved to help protect alloys and nuts Loads of new cleaning stuff (cloths, snow foam shampoo, snow foam blaster, alloy cleaner, wheel brushes)

Welcome dude, this is a great forum with really friendly people

Yep, need to wait for the brakes to bed in then I can properly have some fun. It's funny how the last time I drove my 350z was back in 2016. Since then I had been driving a 1.4 Peugeot 206, a 1.8 MX-5 nb, a 1.6 Nissan Qashqai, then a 1.2 Renault Clio 8v. But getting back into something this powerful has felt natural. It's so effortless.

It does remind me of the Lego batmobile 🤣
-
So she's more than I expected, even from my limited drive. Handles and sounds better than a 350z by far, obviously. Even the Bose sound system is miles above the 350z one. Just need to wait for the brake squeaking to go once they've bedded in. Dashcam gets installed next week Saturday and already has tracker installed, just need to activate & pay for subscription with Vodafone.

Today's s the day, can't wait to pick her up 😍🍆🥳
-
I wouldn't be able to get the exhaust for a year or two, so lots of time to see how I find it 🙂
-
I can't answer that. I probably won't. But it depends on how much I love the standard sports exhaust. I could get the armytrix one, that's only £3,500.
-
Do you mean these ones? https://www.design911shop.com/Porsche-981-Dark-tinted-tail-lights-98104490000/prod132660/ These are the rear lights I was talking about that I'm going to get.

Bit late, already picked and paid for the car.

So a little update and Carla is ready to be picked up. They've completed a service on her, and replaced the front discs and pads. They've also done the usual valet on her. I'll be picking her up on Friday ❤️, leaving early from work. At the same time, my shopping list has expanded. So far I've got this on my list... Front luggage compartment liner Guards red seatbelts GAP insurance New number plates made with my personalised registration, same on that I had on the 350z Blackvue 900x plus 2ch dash cam hardwired with cellink neo 8+ battery pack Concaver CVR1 Winter alloys in matt graphite and Michelin pilot alpin 5 tyres Window tints - rear (dark), rear side (mid-dark) and front side (light) Akropovic or Armytrix exhaust I should be able to get all of these items bar the exhaust in the next couple of months 🥰

Just joined and added you 🙂

Of course I'm talking about the 350z-uk forum 😝
-
Yeah spent quite a bit of time on that forum reading up on the 981. There's nothing that compares to this forum though. Best bunch of people I've ever come across on a car forum.
-
After having the mpss on the 350z I know how much of a difference they can make. Tyres and brakes are immeasurable.
-
Thinking either armytrix or akropovic exhaust. 6 months warranty, bought it from a Porsche specialist dealer. Might take it to Porsche or an independent. Main dealer is Sidcup or independent is Crawley for me.
-
Unfortunately it's raining on Saturday when I pick her up and yeah she's wrapped in Pirelli P Zeros. I'll be changing her to Michelin Pilot Sports 4s as soon as they need to be replaced.
-
Thanks Andy, Yeah I put my foot down a bit in the test drive but nothing too aggressive. Of course I'm going to be careful until I know her handling and limits better. Slowly pushing every day until I know what she's capable of. Already got a list of things to do... GAP insurance Put my old plate onto her Front 4k and rear 1080p dashcam Winter alloys and tyres Rear GTS lights Window tints Exhaust - maybe but the two I like are £3500/7000 so that might have to wait a bit. Maybe next year 🤣 Oh and I've named her Carla 😍
-
Yeah there's some real dodgy alloys out there. This was the only design I liked. Now to find a set I like to wrap in winter tyres.
-
HO train 69 it is 🤣
-
So your name... Is it meant to be Hot Rain 69 or Ho Train 69? 🤣

Originally I'd done insurance quotes without knowing the registration. Said £550 extra, now I know the registration, typed it in, £297 extra over my X reg (2000) Renault Clio 1.2 8v with 59 bhp 🏆
