So for the price I paid for my 2013 981s, I could have got a 2018 718s. The 981 is the last of the Cayman/Boxster boxer engines unless you go to the 4.0 718gts or GT4.
With regards to servicing costs, service is once every 2 years and from an independent not too bad. I'd say similar to 350z but only half the time.
You can get an android auto/apple gayplay upgrade. I'd recommend going for the nvmautomotive one. Not the joyride or cheap Chinese ones.
