  1. I presume he will be cutting the inner fender section too and folding it up to meet the outer skin and either welding or using filler to seal them back together so the rust wont matter.
  2. Just found a picture on my phone, its the badly over wrapped edge that is glued on that has started to perish on yours, dont think you could buy the strip from nissan.
  3. That won't be your issue, it's more likely underneath you need to worry about, when I had my window replaced the metal a frame was starting to rot and the glass has probably detached allowing the water to get in and under. Easy enough to take the a frame outer cover off that holds (glued) to that weather strip, as for replacement it's probably the whole unit as Nissan (50% chance I am wrong) don't sell separate strips. Never had any water in my footwell though and my weather seal has now been wrapped over as it was that poor and doesn't get driven in the wet much now either.
  4. Cleaned the throttle body? Did you move it by anychance?
  5. Your manifold has an extra hole lol, nice build. I do enjoy a red subframe
  6. So my POISON has been neglected and hasn't been tinkered with in a while, the lack of garage space has put me off doing the next big jobs and this has come into my life Needs a few things done to it, first issue was the wheel nuts WHY! Function over form Chrysler! stupid idiots put chrome caps over steel nuts which end up expanding and spinning or like the previous owner just keep hammering a socket on to get the off Ebay steel nuts £17 job done. You can see the new nuts in the first picture basically the same but solid steel.
  7. Found this in my loft, anyone want it? If not probably going in the bin, never used it, came with the car, free for collection (North Ayrshire) or pay the postage to get it delivered. I will post a picture tomorrow if the moderators allow
  8. So I bought this today Basically an armchair with wheels.... and a hemi. 27mpg on my long trip up from newcastle, couple of minor issues but should be good to waft about in for a year then I will move onto a clio sport 200 for track day duties and the Z becomes a weekend and show pony.
  9. I only drive my car on nice days partially due to this^^^ and me being to lazy to do the above^
  10. Pick it up on Tuesday, not sure if I can still see the eBay picture, gold on. . .
  11. Quite a few earths in the engine bay, some under the airbox (unlikely they would see them) some on the front of the engine, they might cause a little interference but it's more likely to be an wire for the sub unless it's the Bose sound system in which case search.
  12. So I drunkenly bought one of these off ebay Pick it up on Tuesday, got it for a steal which has me worried, high mileage but its a big lazy v8 and no timing belts to worry about, its even going in to get the takata airbag recall done on friday and a once over from the dealer. Finally I can get rid of the shoebox i10.
  13. Moisture from warm engine and air gap between bonnet, probably a bit colder last night and the texture of the plenum caused water droplets to form, nothing to worry about, if it was only around the bolt holes or the very edge would I think more on the subject.
  14. My Ings bumper is in bits, running an oem with lip and canards at the moment but have a different bumper being prepared as we speak. =) Dont recall many modified grey or silver cars with Ings bumper though.
  15. So you can fit a rear bumper in the 350z..... I had planned to swap the bumpers up at my old garage but when I realized it fitted in the car its much easier to bring it home and buff out the scuff marks (poor storage on my part) then wrap it and start lining up the stardast flares. But I also have my eye on the Tarmac diffuser with vortex generators as the oem bumper is too boring for my taste (which is a bit OTT sometimes ) Also bought some valve springs off Simon de silva so I guess I am building the heads now ..... maybe just a refresh... oem++
  16. Got a lot of work on my hands to make this lot fit good As it was only a test fit the fender inner plastics got in the way slightly so it may not need as much extending of the bolt locations. Fortunately there wasn't much rust, so a quick wash would do for just now, once its all apart I will repaint and anti rust any areas looking worse for ware, The AMS fenders go over the headlight slightly, I will need to improve my skills like Brian McCann if i want to cut and splice the oem fenders with these so they dont go over the head lights.... The side skirts will need heated to shape better or some work.. these will not fit with OEM fenders so had to stick the originals back on. You can see its just a tad shy of the oem clip locations, not worried as they will be rivet nutted into location unlike the wood screws that hold the old skirts on ( dam layzay bodyshop ) Back of the oem fenders wasn't bad for rust which is good if I want to sell them or cut them up
  17. Just get them shot blasted then tap new threads for bigger bolts, that's what I ended up having to do.
  18. This Poisonous car needs finished!! I keep spending money when I don't have space to work on it! These turned up today So I may attempt to test fit the side skirts or the front wings tomorrow to keep my enthusiasm up while it saps my cash.
  19. The sun really sets off that paintwork wow! Bennett timed it right for the good weather.
  20. You buy nice cars/mod them, then I blink and then you sell them. I just can't keep up. GLWTS
  21. So set about learning how to fiberglass and use filler.... Not pretty but it wont be seen as its getting a coat of black primer then wrapped After sanding by hand my entire life I realized this would take a while, off to B&Q for a cheap palm sander OMG! life has changed, my finger tips will now have an identity! Why did I not buy a sander before this!!!
  22. Did they say where they were going? North Pole?
  23. Scott, get a new exhaust and give the nismo sometime then if u do need the power I could help fit the kit, once my garage is built (fuel system minus the injectors, the sump and the intercooler) then take it to Chris at dynodynamics in east kilbride as it's close and he is a smart dude also handy with a spanner so would have the turbos on and tuned in no time.
