  1. Can you not just get a longer hose and angle the intake hose up (T piece hose) so it wont foul on the radiator?
  2. As I don't really know the layout of this kit, and from pictures can't understand why it splits the intake hose(Am I seeing it correctly?) Is this a bypass valve recirc route?
  3. Has anyone got experience of making fiberglass molds for car bodywork? As I still like to track my car I would like to safe guard my bodywork and not have to buy parts twice if I have an off. The molds would be kept in the attic until the time came for the original parts to be replaced, but this could be years, would the molds last, since they wouldn't be used they shouldn't loose much shape if stored in a decent geometry?
  4. Just click on "edit" in the bottom right hand corner of your first post and then go to "full edit" (I think it's called) and this will allow you to edit the title. Been on this forum for years and never knew how to do this!!! THANK YOU! I can finally change some titles!
  5. If you have hobbit hands you might even be able to do it from the top of the engine down... if you know where you are looking... and don't mind a few cut fingers.
  6. If you need any help Paul, I am only just up the road , just can't do bodywork
  7. It looks like the oem fan shroud which wont help matters as said above.
  8. Reading this article has made me realize I have a problem, its a bit like gambling and you should quit while you are ahead. I think I may have to set a date with the Z being done in mind otherwise I will always want to buy more shiny parts and never sit back and admire/hate what I have made. Shame I honestly cannot fathom how long it will take me to buy all the bits I need for me to be satisfied.
  9. Over the past few months I have found out more about his car than the past few years! He is slipping in his old age giving away his secrets! Just have to hunt for them though
  10. 400-500 can't check at the moment, 30 years young =)
  11. Brian McCann in America is about to do something with them to his show car, apart from him not seen them mentioned much.
  12. It was said for every 4 steel plates (5000*2500*40mm) they made in the Chinese steel mills 3 would be reused as scrap. But they still managed to flood the market and outsell my old work who would only scrap one in 50. But you can't tarnish a whole nation on one groups business practices. They move with the times / modernize better than us brits.
  13. Get the one you like the sound of. 2-5hp is nothing.
  14. Looks amazing in that colour, I think the finished item will be a show stopper.
  15. one of the pipes goes slightly into the intercooler pipe, not sure how I feel about this as it might rub what does everyone think? cut it shorter again or leave it?
  16. Off out to dinner, just need a wee bit more cutting then drill the holes and done, silicone hoses arrived today, needed to cut one tho
  17. Thanks, just hope it inspires people to try having a go themselves.
  18. Maybe not if my next purchase is pulled off 8-)
  19. Nice to see traders/boffins/(Mark) post info like this. Not something I had ever thought of but, its basic mechanics checking things are straight. When you say the center main bearing, do you mean the one with the thrust washer? If so is this to allow more oil to be squeezed out and over the thrust washers.
  20. I will try to keep it updated, just takes me a long time to do stuff as I have to walk between my garage and my dad's at the end of the road for tools/work space. So many bits I would love to fit!
  21. The slightly bigger 1245 intercooler. Just found some bolts so hope to have it fitted over the weekend, waiting on couplers still =/ you may be able to hack a bit off the back of the oem crashbar for the intercooler to fit if you have issues.
