  1. Has anyone got round to dropping an LS2 into a zed yet??? I keep looking at places like dyno tourqe in Brum and thinking that they would be more than able to do it...the money would be a bit scary though.
  2. Hi all, I was reading about the new nismo 370z and must confess to being quite a fan of the look, I'm not really into kits at all but i ending up having a search on google images and game across this for the 350z and am actually quite taken with it. Can anyone confirm what kit it is (I'm assuming that is the nismo V2 front bumper) but i quite like the side skirts too...not keen on the wing at all but was thinking it might work better with the blitz style one a saw RT (i think) had done. Would anyone be able to suggest quality suppliers...prices...and rough fit and paint costs? I guessing this is the same kit and i quite like the understated rear end, any ideas on suppliers and prices of those spats? Thanks.
  3. I don't know everyone who has had it done and i imagine there are lots of other users who don't either, I'm interested to see how this list pans out.
  4. It is something I'd very much like to do to my HR, I owe some finance on it but once that is cleared this is a route I will give very serious consideration to. I think my justification would be that, as you mention, I could sell the zed in a year or so and get myself a 911 but as soon as I got one I'd start looking a tuning options and be back exactly where i am now ie hankering for more....or I am patient, and once my finance is cleared I throw a wedge of money at the zed and get it exactly how I want it which makes more sense to me.
  5. I always find myself in a conundrum with modifications at this level, you'd be looking at what, 11k, for a straight totally standard low mile HR zed, then for the GTM stage 1 plus exhaust etc another 12k then another 2.5k for the syvecs to get the very best from the car and that's before you've even looked at brakes and suspension modification, call it 25/26k. A part of me thinks that sort of money for a unique spec 3.5 litre, V6, supercharged, rear wheel drive sports coupe with a usable 500bhp is great value all be it a 5 year old car, depending on the circumstances I can' think of much that would touch it....but another part of me thinks, sweet baby jesus that's a shocking amount of money for a lardy 5 year old car. It is undoubtedly something that I could see myself doing to my HR but I would be very interested in understanding how those that have bit the bullet and spent big money have made the man maths work for them? or more importantly, can you give me some tips on sneaking that sort of outlay past the wife without getting divorced....after all, she does make a lovely cup of tea.
  6. Thanks....sounds interesting, not the cheapest thing in the world though.
  7. Looks great, what made you go twin turbo over supercharged?....if your making 415 at the wheels what would that roughly work out too at the fly?
  8. Well i have no plans to sell, although a weekend at brands hatch for the btcc has had me thinking of a clio/pug road legal track car, but 12k is a hefty investment, MPG doesn't matter as i don't pay for fuel and more noise would be great!....regarding more expensive cars getting smaller in the mirror what is the performance like? has anyone ever run one up the qtr mile or had a 0-100 timed, if the standard HR hits 100 in 13 seconds dead (according to evo magazine) i'm curious to know what a 500bhp HR would do it in.
  9. I do love the car, they way it handles (although I know to date I've not pushed it limits) and i love the way it looks....the only thing I'm not blown away with is the power and performance...my line of thinking is that given a boost of 150bhp it may be exactly the car I'm after...if i chapped it in 12 months from now for a 'better' car like a 370z, Z4M or VXR8 I'd only end up exactly where i am now which is looking at extracting more power and noise.
  10. Hi, For the few HR owners that have gone the supercharged route (something i have been giving consideration to) i wanted to pose a couple of questions if i may. What have you found to be the benefits? What down sides have you found? Having laid out for the conversion do you feel the conversion cost is out weighed by the benefits? If you could do anything different what would it be and why? would you do it again or get yourself a newer 20k performance car rather than a 5 year old with a blower? I'm trying to make the man-maths work in my head so hearing the thoughts of those that have made the investment would be helpful. thanks in advance.

    The Ultimate 370z

I hate to be a stick in the mud and go against as the general consensus but I must be seeing something different to everyone else...beautiful wheels, nice seats, nice gear knob and great engine spec but other than that I think it looks horrific.
  12. Beautiful...still one of my favourite Zeds...enough done to it to make it different and stand out, but not to much to cheapen an already attractive car....in my opinion it's a fine line and you've got it spot on.
  13. According to Evo magazine the HR has been timed and hits 60 in 5.5 and 100 in 13 dead, anyone got any thoughts on what sort of times the few that have had the GTM supercharger conversion done could do it in? I'm assuming that traction would be an issue to make much difference for the 60 time but I wonder what the improvement to 100 would be? I know the zed isn't really that sort of car but i'm interested none the less.

    New Pics

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251093795668; ... 673wt_1163 I had the front bumper, rear diffuser and spoiler all fitted at the same time by Taras from RT Performance. Excellent, thanks for the link.

As others have said, I'm a fan of the front end but the spoiler is way too much for me. Where did you get the V2 from? can i enquire as to how much you paid for it and how it fits?

    2 Owners?

Get an unprotected personal loan, mug an few old ladies for their pension books and give this one a call. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4172437.htm Or buy my HR and let me give the owner a call.

    2 Owners?

Have to say i agree, why would you pay that much for a DE when you can get an HR for that money, especially a DE with suspect pics and missed services? I'd walk away and wait for the right car that ticks all your boxes.
  18. Fantastic spec car...but what's the point of that?
  19. Not the cheapest are they..... http://shop.partsworldperformance.com/t ... tAodOXwA6A
  20. A couple of grand back in your hand makes this very tempting tuning route just that little bit more tempting, certainly a very realistic alternative to forced induction and with far more potential furhter down the road.....LS2 with a set of cams and a decent exhaust system should see some great figures....go FI when you get bored with that and there wouldn't be a great deal on the road that would live with you in a straight line....and it would sound like the devil
  21. This is a conversion that has interested me for some time, does anyone know what sort of money would i could expect to get back by selling the HR engine i would take out?
