  1. I had heard that as the main complaint, i was looking at some of those 370s that have had a few performance mods and as has been mentioned 350bhp seems to be a realist figure for exhaust, berks, uprev which i see Abbey are doing for 2k.
  2. I did actually, it was one of the reasons I looked back at the 370 to be honest.....it's a bummer for you guys who already have a 370 if it impacts used prices but from a buyer point of view then that could lead to me possibly getting one a little sooner if that is the route i end up taking. I was looking on autotrader last night and noticed a few nice looking, low mileage examples at 16k.
  3. It is a daily driver....it's a shame from a buyers perspective that the price on the 370 hasn't dropped as much as the 350, when i got my 350 i paid 13.5k which i think was a pretty good price and at the time it was only a shade over 3 year old with 22k on the clock, looking at 3 year old 370s now they seem some distance from that although looking on autotrader a few seem to a slipped to the 16k mark.
  4. Interesting feedback. I've never driven a DE I went went straight in to an HR so am not really aware of how big a difference there may be between that and an HR car, I have never driven a 370 but had just assumed that as it is a little lighter, has a little more power and has the benefit of new technologies any replies would have been a resounding win for the 370 over the HR.
  5. Morning, I have spent the last month or so weighing up options with regards to my HR 350z, do i spend a few pounds on some styling, do i spend it on tuning, do i try and do a bit of both or my other option is do i leave it as it is ie standard with a different set of wheels and some paint. If I explore any of the tuning or styling options then i will need to commit to keeping the 350 for a few more years, if i don't then I could look to move to a 370 in the future. So my questions really are that those of you who went from a 350 to a 370 are you please you made the switch? what was the best thing about doing it? any regrets or downsides? Thanks.
  6. Any update on these?? I may be interested in one in gloss black for an HR model.
  7. I think i'm edging towards sticking with the zed and adding a few bits to get the best from it and personalise it to my tastes over chopping it in and getting something else....thing is, no matter what i get I'd end up wanting to tweek it a bit and that would mean spending money over what i really should....a 320bhp rear wheel drive coupe that looks, sounds and goes as well as an HR does while being reliable and cheap to maintain can't be a bad thing can it. But i think i'll put in a call to Craig at dyno tourqe and have a quick chat about the LS2 conversion....now that would be the dream!
  8. I'm must be getting old to as I really like the look of that, it's a heck of a lot of car for the money!
  9. Nice...I have the same in gloss black.
  10. I'd be up for that, wanted to go last year but got stuck doing something poop.
  11. I know what your saying. My missus wont let me get a scooby simply because of the image they have now. As for the uprev making much of a difference, I know on the older zeds with 276bhp, you can get them upto nearly similar power to the HR`s by fitting a full exhaust system, a modified pendulum, air filters and a remap. But, what sort of power will the same stuff add to the 313HR? When I looked into it, in order to get an extra 30bhp out of the 313 model you would end up spending a lot of money! 7 months in the garage!!!! eeeeeek!!! Abbey stage 3 on the HR is just shy of £1800 and I think it gives about 290 at the hubs, not sure what that equates to at the fly though...I'm guessing about 320bhp.
  12. You could go the LS1 route, not quite as powerful but still sounds like the Devil and no doubt a little cheaper than the LS2.
  13. Still one of my fav vieos....stick in some headphones, the over run at the end is lovely.
  14. And don't think I've not looked at it....The is a firm in Brum that do LS V8 conversions, they've done them in TVRs, BMWs and RX7's...I can't for the life of me think what they are called, it will come to me...might be dyno tourque or something like that. When i looked at it you were looking at 10k for an LS2 drive in and out. Let me know tye name when it comes to you. From what ive read it's a tricky job due to most LS V8's being lhd setup This is them... http://www.dynotorque.co.uk/ The main chap the Craig is very well repected and so far I've not heard anying negative.
  15. I agree, I think you can get used to the car and forget how good it is. Best thing I find is if you dont drive it for a few weeks, then get in it and you get that buzz back. Problem I had, was that I was using it every day for a 100mile commute, so after a bit that magic wore off. But, even so, I still prefered it to most of the other cars people have mentioned. Id think long & hard before spending too much on modding it. Sure you can turbo it, super charge it etc... but its not cheap to get gains out of the HR as Nissan tuned it to the max anyway. One reality check I had was a mate who got an imprezza on the road, with 320bhp (i think the rolling road said it was) for less than £2k. Okay, so completely different type of car and you cant really compare it with a RWD v6 zed, but it made me really think did I want to try and make my zed quicker or not when I can just go out & buy something like that for a fraction of the cost. I have toyed with idea of a Scoobie many times myself but, and this says more about me than anything, I just don't think that at almost 39 years of age I can live with the image....great cars but just a bit to much for me these days. Someone said on here recently that the uprev was like having a sport button, doesn't throw you back in your seat but it just sharpens everthing up and I thought that was a great way of putting it, I'd love to have a GTM supercharger but for now I'm only thinking a few body modifications, Exhaust, berks, uprev, nothing to dramatic....although it isn't exactly cheap! As for leaving it a few weeks without driving it....i've gone 7 months with it sat in the garage!, it will be like getting a new car when it goes back on the road which i'm hoping will be April!
  16. I certainly did. I found the HR 350z actually felt quicker & more exciting to drive. I also preferred the looks of the 350z. I test drove a Monaro V8 whilst I was in Australia as a mates friend had one and happily lent me the keys. Have to say I wasnt too impressed with that either. Certainly nice soundtrack, but the v8 was a bit of a lazy drive compared to the 7500rpm screaming v6 the HR 350z had. It felt slower and heavier. I likened it to comparing my HR to my 123d really without the v8 noise. The VX220 turbo is quite a bit more expensive. Ive been keeping an eye on elises and vx220`s for the last 12 months and you can pick up an elise or vx220 for about 5 or 6k now. But the vx220 turbo`s are 11k upwards. You can stick astra vxr bits on them and get a lot more power out of them. Also, a big problem now elises & vx220`s are getting on a bit, is that any slight bump writes them off due to the cost of the clams. So theres a lot of cat c & d ones out there. Still, if one comes along at the right price i`ll be on it as quick as a flash still. Good reply, thanks. I wonder if because we have zeds parked outside if we don't forget that they are a great car in their own right, it's when i remind myself of that I think i've not got it at all bad....they look great, sound nice, go well and are cheap to run...it's when i have these reality checks that I think I should tweek the Zed and get it just how I want it.
  17. My heart would scream for a TVR....my wallet would much prefer the zed.
  18. 19. Poor old Vauxhall, they do get a tough rap over the badge despite making some classics....then again, for some reason people still sneer if you mention you drive a Nissan....usually car retarded fools.
  20. Cheers for that....I always check them out on pistonheads and dip into their sub forum on there to.
  21. I would be slush fund-less. Love the Elise, S1 or S2?? or surely a VX220 turbo, whip it of to courtney for 295bhp and leave everything for dead!
  22. Has anyone moved from a zed to a Monaro/VXR8?? i'd be interested in hearing of anyones take on that.
  23. If I were to opt for a replacement car over beefing up the 350 i'd push to 18k. In terms of fuel I am very lucky in that I don't have to put my hand in my pocket, part of the appeal of the zed is long service intervals and cheap service costs, tax I pay £500 odd a year as it is and will 'happily' keep paying it if it means having a nicer car....if the insurance and running costs on a 370 are on a par with the 350 that would be nice. The general view seems to be that most would chop in the Zed for something else rather than invest in some go faster bits and a bit of styling. Agreed on the porker, some models do look quite dated inside.
