  1. Many, many congratulations to you both, wonderful stuff! I wish you all the very best!
  2. As far as NY goes, some terrific mentions already. There is so much to see and do. If you're in to it, Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) and the Metropolitan Museum are very good. As mentioned above, Top of the Rock, Ellis Island, Central Park, 9/11 Memorial. I would give China Town a miss, Little Italy also. However, I would suggest finding a pub called The Dead Rabbit (Water Street), it's a great city bar / pub and was more full of locals https://www.deadrabbitnyc.com Would also suggest if you're out and about near the Flat Iron building. You try and have a nose in Eataly. It's a great Italian market / store with some great, easy food available. https://www.eataly.com/us_en/stores/nyc-flatiron/ You could also try, if you're interested in a real NY experience. Get a cab to Katz's diner on East Houston street. It's a slightly more 'earthy' part of town, but the experience will be worth it. Go in, get a ticket and walk up the guys behind the counter for mega sarnies! http://www.katzsdelicatessen.com You could also get a cab and try a great little Latin Restaurant / Bar on Perry Street in West Village, called Yerba Buena. Lovely, full of atmosphere, great drinks and good food. http://ybnyc.com/iphone/home.html
  3. A good start, looks like LeBlanc, Harris and Reid get on and will gel over the series. Great camera work and a goodbye to the cocking around in the studio (thank god). I will definitely watch again and fingers crossed it will get better and better over the series. TGT left me disappointed, crap scripts, to much of a talk show, really low brow and obvious 'comedy'. Sick of the over obvious, visible from outer space, punchlines and 'jokes'. Glad to see that Top Gear has some potential, looking forward the the next episode.
  4. Really good news Pete, that sounds really very positive indeed. Fantastic
  5. I've watched each episode and to be honest it's been a bit 'meh', most of the time. Some the reviews / features have been good. But the majority has been - boring, simple as that. Less fanny-arsing around in the tent with faux 'acted' nonsense please. The track is rubbish and really shows nothing of the cars. More focus on car development, road trip comparisons, what car can you buy for 5k and what can you do with it? It's been very disappointing, and that's considering that one of the strengths of Top Gear was the writing. Dump the celebrity brain crash crap, drop the '..ooh, I've had an idea!.." (that we've clearly scripted. It's all just rather dull
  6. Some great content in some episodes, but if I'm honest, it's just a bit boring. Used to enjoy the road trips, where they would actually spend time comparing the cars, whilst having a laugh and taking the ****. Equally, I used to enjoy the road trips where they would go to countries or locations. Where I would think, "Wow, Romania looks really interesting..." or "Vietnam looks bonkers!...". And then I would think, I should find out more about that place, or I really want to go there, how do I do that? It was when TG just became them cocking around with cliche's, all the time, that I got bored. The Grand Tour has started, for me, with exactly that feel. Where are the great road trips through the amalfi, in dodgy 80's 'also-ran' hot hatches? Where are the epic long haul challenges across Mongolia, in a cheap 7 series, XJ and a Volvo 960? What about tackling the Canadian rockies in an 90's Renault Espace, a Mazda Bongo and a Seat Alhambra? I want to see something that wows us with the new, celebrates the old and occasionally 'plants a seed' that makes me thing 'I should / could do that...'
  7. All the best to Caroline, good that they managed to get the tumour out and it's not in the bone. Expect she's feeling very battered and bruised. Hope over the next few weeks she can rest and recover. Thoughts to you both, Pete.
  8. Meh, episode three was better than two (which was a complete crock...). Still undecided to be honest, the scripting is not up to the standard they are capable of. They seem less 'natural' or 'comfortable' than they used to be. Almost as if they are bring over directed or produced. Obviously TG had a lot of great writing, which took some time to develop. I hope this new GT show won't take too much longer to gel together.
  9. Keeping Caroline ( and you) in my thoughts Pete. Hoping the op and treatment will not be too challenging.
  10. Great to see another build thread from you Chris
  11. Nice looking 04 350Z in silver, spotted manoeuvring around the car park, on the west bound services. This was about 4pm this afternoon, marvellous beard on the chap driving!
  12. I've slacked off, had some really chilled and fun jobs, selling records, stacking shelves. I've worked extremely hard, under break down inducing pressure, where £millions have been involved. I've earned very little, I've been paid extremely well. On reflection, in all those circumstances, the work / life balance has actually been the key element to happiness. It's become clear to me, through these circumstances. That although I have had and can have a great deal. I don't really need an awful lot to be happy. That's been the guiding element over the last 6-7 years especially. A warm, safe roof overhead in a 'nice', safe place. Having money to cover any bills / expenses. With enough left over to go for a pub lunch now and then. Or go on holiday, do stuff with friends and family, run a few cars. All without really worrying about the expense of it. I also learnt not to compare myself to others. We all have different drives, motivations and needs. That in itself is a major contributor to happiness. Don't measure your success by other people's, it's a bad idea
  13. Spotted this morning just before 8m, leaving the M4 at J16 Swindon.Headed over the motorway, down Wharf Road and toward Wroughton. Looked really smart, very nice example
  14. Another thank you to the guys at Horsham Developments. New clutch slave cylinder and change of fluid, brake's bled (thank god the nipples weren't seized!) and fluid changed. Everything running nice and smooth again, lovely stuff
  15. Hi Alex, on occasion when I start the car, and occasionally when I'm driving. I get the ABS TCS and Slip! lights flash up and remain on. D Doesn't seem to be any issue with the brakes / braking as that has been well checked. Doesn't appear to be an issue with the traction control either. I have noticed when I start the car that the idle is occassionally high, but then drops. From the digging I've done on the code and the info above, throttle is probably most likely candidate. It sounds like the issue might be the throttle control motor relay or position sensor? You'll have to forgive my lack of mechanical knowledge NB: the sensor on the pedal has also been replaced and the error persisted
  16. Ok guys, so just a quick question regards the throttle control relay / actuator. I have a 2003 JDM Zed which has been throwing up the old P1122 error code. So I know that's related to the throttle and likely candidates are the throttle relay / actuator. Bearing in mind my Zed is JDM, I'm guessing I cannot replace the relay with a UK spec relay? I assume I will have to get a JDM spec relay / actuator as there may be different 'electrical standards' (can't think of a better way of phrasing it) between JDM and UK. Any thoughts / suggestions / advice?
  17. Please keep coming on to this thread and talking to us, let us know how you are, how you're feeling (as above). I think that is really important, many of us have been through similar circumstances. There is support and willing / listening ears here. This situation is very tough for you, I think we can see you're doing your best to manage and handle things. Please remember, you are a valuable and worthy person and people care for you. Despite how you feel now, how tough things are. You will come through this. There will be an evolution of your feelings, emotions, fears and concerns. It will not happen overnight, but it will happen. Believe me and trust me, you will come through this in a positive way, stronger and more complete, things will work through. I continue to be amazed by your resilience, your compassion and your openness. That does you so much credit, I've huge respect for how you continue to post with thought and consideration. Such an approach speaks volumes for your self respect as well as for your respect, love and compassion for yourself and others. Keep visiting, keep posting, we are here to listen, to help and advise where we can.
  18. Well you could be right, managed to get her started up again this morning. Same issue, would only rev up to 11-1200 rpm. Battery was just not holding charge, even after 30 mins of charging. Eventually got her loaded on to a recovery truck and taken to a decent local Nissan garage. She's due for some care and attention, needs a damn good service and will probably need the clutch master / slave cylinder doing. I was wondering whether there was a potential MAF or throttle body issue to? Ah well, she's being looked after at the moment. So we'll see what happens over the next day or so as the garage feedback. They will probably say buy a 370Z
  19. Hey old friend, last year or so has been difficult/ challenging to be honest. But there we go, such is life. Hope you guys are fit and well
  20. To be honest GM, other pressures / stresses have meant I just haven't been running it. Both work and family life have meant it's just been sat. A month rolls in to three, rolls in to six etc. It's just not been a priority.. Despite having the Zed, the Audi (now gone) and the C55. I've been scooting around in my Seat most of the time
