  1. I must be missing something but I found the Zed absolutely terrible to drive in snow. So much so that I didn't drive it when snow was on the floor. This time round the 370 isn't even seeing any harsh weather. It's all about the Quattro
  2. I'm not shocked in the slightest. I'm not surprised around your way after your previous post they sound arsey as hell. I don't agree with him driving right up behind you though but round this part of the country the main roads are fine and some people still feel the need to drive at 15 mph it can become quite monotonous, certainly not in the conditions you describe which I sympathise with. Some coppers can be bad drivers but we're all human I suppose
  3. The search for the winner continues 9-9
  4. Is it true there is a law in somewhere like Germany that should you get a tyre damaged beyond repair (possibly even if it can be repaired - I don't know) you need to replace all 4 regardless? I remember hearing this from someone but it could be complete rubbish. This ties in with the fact of how we are able to get part worn tyres with quite reasonable tread and reputable makes.
  5. I've viewed the car I can confirm its a good one no nasty noises, clutch is good engine sounds lovely. It sounds far nicer than my 350 ever did!
  6. Buckley, pm'd you mate, you're in luck, I've worked for the garage and I'm friends with the owner
  7. Wow a lot more Black Editions on the site would be nice to get these together although I reckon we'd look like the Mafia.

    19" or 20"?

    Possibly 20" - what's your plan mate?
  9. Thanks guys, good work on finding out the answer I appreciate it! I think I'll just keep it taxed rather than mess around with declaring it SORN. I did have a feeling that the showroom tax element would be lost and certainly not refundable as stated, people would just SORN their car and re-apply for a tax disc pocketing a bit of change in the process. Now for this horrible weather to get out the way so I can get behind the wheel again, just seeing the state on my Audi after commuting for a week is enough to put me off pulling it out the garage.
  10. I haven't been on here in a while, mind you I haven't driven my 370 in a while it's been tucked away as I just don't have the time and the weather isn't too nice. Anyway while it's tucked away (most likely till February time) I wondered what the rules are on SORN'ing a car in it's first year and getting a refund on the tax. I imagine there is some rule somewhere that stops you getting a pro rata rate back on the initial RFL of £750, or is there? And then when it comes the time to re-apply (if the car is still in it's first year of life) will you have to pay the full wack again or would it be the standard 400ish? My question might be seem a bit ambiguous and many might not see the point but I'm more curious than anything.
  11. Keep your head up mate, stay strong for your old man. I'm a similar age, reading this does put things into perspective. Family is the most important thing.
  12. I saw Russia on Ross Kemp on Gangs that was enough for me full of Neo Nazi Mafia types isn't it?
  13. Just drove back from Mannheim in Germany yesterday, probably the most ass-twitching drive ever. We were 4 up in my Audi A3, thank god it was Quattro, lane changes with slight twitches is not my idea of fun! That said, coming back to the UK where we bang on about snow is so annoying. I could go on a rant about this. Every year Scotland comes to a stand still with snow, you get it every bloody year, I would have thought they'd know what to do by now instead of flapping like a bunch of idiots (yes I know they get more snow than we do in the south). I just find it hard to understand how 4cm of snow is so news worthy that it seems that's all they talk about? Am I missing something?
  14. Chris, you can always come down and practice your skills on my car, might even persuade me to purchase a set of 20's!
  15. Yes I can confirm there are known gearbox issues with the later ones, it was the reason I got rid of my 07 plate but I think I was just unlucky (it only had 18k miles on it).
  16. Stop driving so fast then you won't breathe so hard
  17. Unlucky mater, on to bigger and better things (rev up engine).

    19" or 20"?

This is true mate, 20's it is then! Actually I try not to get to caught up on the US sites, their cars are just too nice!
  19. I can imagine modifying standard parts is a lot harder! That's pretty nifty though, I like it. Does it automatically come on when reverse is engaged?
  20. Starting a car in gear, absolute failure! A mate of mine did this not so long ago in my garage, the garage is on a lane and his car was facing straight out, it took off and tore my mate with it (he started it by leaning in the window) went straight across the lane and ploughed into the opposite garage door coming to a rest on a guys Daewoo hatch. I've never laughed so hard. Needless to say my mate was a bit red faced with a lighter wallet.
