  1. As others have said, it sounds like it was running rough before. You said the old air filter was damaged. Did it have a hole in it? This would make a difference. Or it could be as simple as the filter was very dirty and the car was struggling to breath. A new filter could change the noise if it's a different make or was dirty /damaged. It sounds like your paranoid about the car now and hearing all the noises The rattling could be your cat heat shields, it's very common. Or maybe just your drive train rattling a little now the idle revs have dropped a bit lower.
  2. Got any pics of these fitted? Not seen them before. Day and night would be good.
  3. Good to hear, and nice numbers! Bet you enjoyed the drive home. Did you get to the bottom of the lean spot or just work round it?
  4. 14 replies and only one mention of gearing, poor show lads Cough, Cough...Post three. That is what I meant by Diff. Should have said final drive really.
  5. Your not gonna get that from just bolt ons and a remap. As you suggested, lightweight flywheel will help and as much weight loss as possible. You'll need very good traction, so wide sticky rubber and a diff will go a long way. Or just go FI
  6. Estimated fly mate. It was 402bhp @ hubs on Abby's dyno.
  7. Glad to see your getting to the bottom of it! (possibly) Be interested to see the dyno plot and numbers Mark managed to get on the 3.12 pulley, as I have one in the garage ready to go on
  8. That's the first time in nearly 5 years of ownership I've been spotted on here!! :yahoo: It was me. I saw you pulling in at the round about and your thumbs up, but I was too slow to react. You local then?
  9. That's a good shout Mark. If the Fuel pressure was set too high it would be acting against the damper and possibly bottoming it out. Out of interest, what base pressure do you guys use? With or without the vacuum connected.
  10. I disagree, this shows us that you did indeed retain the OEM fuel rails and dampers, that you obviously wasn't sure about, and thus makes the 'damper concern' less likely to be the problem. (They could of course be worn but this would normally be heard ticking before it was an issue.) I don't mean that, I mean pointing out the fact I was there it just seems more of a personal dig towards me. Not a problem putting up the pictures of the dampers etc as that is helpful. Ah..I get ya. I'd say it's all your fault, because you was there and didn't spot any problems. Out of interest, and I'm sure you mentioned earlier, this issue was from day one? or from the first time it was mapped? Did you drive it prior to mapping with a generic map or anything? Was it there then?

  12. This is a thread I had with a similar issue - http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/536529-help-with-my-lean-spot-at-3000-3500rpm.html Probably worth a read. I went down most of the avenues, and read all the threads your probably reading. It was eventually cured when I went for my 4th tune after changing the MAF. It was not conclusive if it was the MAF or the tune, My car seemed to struggle when transitioning between closed and open loop and only happened when part throttle accelerating. I believe Mark tuned it to be pretty much open loop with any amount of acceleration so the transition was moved. But it was perfect afterwards. Mark may remember more if you jog his memory. This is another issue I had which ended up a faulty injector, again worth a read. - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/78240-running-lumpy-no-eml-all-sorted/
  13. Does it happen every time you go through that rev range? Full throttle, part throttle , In vacuum, on boost?
  14. I feel your pain, I've had a few of these issues over the years and they are SO frustrating! As above, if the OEM fuel rails and dampers have been retained, I doubt it's that. What exactly are your symptoms? as you've been calling it a boost leak ever since you had it tuned at Hdev. Did you do a pressure test? Find any leaks? What was the outcome of the injector test? were they flowing OK? Also, what MAF do you have fitted? PMAS or Uprev GT? Was it brand new?
  15. I believe so lol, its the tredstone 1245 or something like that. Think the crash bar might be having a meeting with the hacksaw though. New bumper is being considered but the one I want will cost £2000+ for the kit to be imported and that just aint going to happen anytime soon since I have only just bought the lip and canards to try beef this one up, probably hacksawing that too so I dont have the black slats in the grill just a big gaping hole. Do you run an oil cooler? My standard vortech Intercooler with an oil cooler pretty much meant I had to cut a lot of the bumper away. Just about left the grill/fins in place.
  16. Great app. You got yourself a Bluetooth dongle Yeah?
  17. Happy birthday mate. Doing anything to celebrate?
  18. Better late (even though prompted) than never. Happy birthday Dave, I know your enjoying it!
  19. I am also but have managed to figure out a P0300 (after a few views lol. So you have a misfire. http://engine-codes.com/p0300_nissan.html
  20. Yeah, they're DW injectors. Mark mentioned that you had a very similar problem at one point in time and switched them out for some 725s, unsure what make he mentioned? Hopefully find out tomorrow what the verdict is! Yeah I did. My first set of DW600's was a 2nd hand from the US and I had problems. I sent them back to DW and they replaced 2 of the injectors as they were under supplying. While that was going on, I bought a brand new set of DW600's and fitted them. 3 years after that and I had another faulty injector in the new set, so got that replaced. All has been good since, but I am lacking confidence in DW quality. If I get another issue, I will definitely swap to a different manufacturer. The ones you'd have been recommended will be the Injector Dynamics ID725s. I will swap to these if there are any more problems. Fine so far, so fingers crossed.
  21. Sorry to see you've had problems, but glad your getting them sorted. So whats the story with your injectors? What make are they? DW by chance?
  22. You say 'not turning over'. Does it make any noises at all when you turn the key? Fuel pump? Lots of clicking?
