hey mate, im 23 with a 5k crash in 2009. Im now 1k for 12 months living in a low crime area -
I'm sure uprev was more in the region of 400 at abbey. Rs tunin in Leeds is a bit more expensive. Horsham developments were doin a deal I think.

this... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/list.asp?s=141 Being serious... to crack 5 seconds, you are probably looking at the wrong car... OR, you need to TRIPLE your budget. This car is a Grand Tourer... not a speed/racing machine. They are notoriously slow of the line due to their weight. +1000000000000000 to crack 5 secs you're looking at around 400bhp + as a guess -
These cheap pads work well on normal road driving. But, if you go on track or are heavy on tight country roads then you will destroy them very quickly. These pads might work well on most cars but the zed is a fat heavy beast. I am a massive fan of ebc yellow stuff pads as they worked well on the road and never ha any issues. The ebb blueshift ndx compound pad are have outstanding braking potential and even ona track like Knockhill which destroys the zeds pads I couldn't get them to fade at all. However, after 2-3 heavy track sessions they have worn and are almost done. That's approximately 1000miles and the zed has destroyed track pads which are highly thought of by time attack series car owners. This puts it into perspective of how heavy the zed is and what quality of pads are required

NeilP just proved that I know NOTHING Lol going through the dyno threads I've rarely seen a 276 model make 300bhp. I only seen 305.5 on a hot run with alot more stuff done on my 300ps model. That's why I've now invested in nitrous as i can't be bothered spending any more large amounts of cash chasing 5 or 6bhp. That is the stop gap until I can afford to go FI. To be honest all the mods done don't really make the car feel faster they change the way the engine runs and car drives which IMO is much more important than scraping a few bhp here and there which is barely noticeable, especially, in a car that weighs around 1.6 tons. The best thing to do with the zed is get it on a diet and lose some pounds. -

The facelift has a much more desirable interior and 300ps as standard but has the high tax band. Breaking the 300bhp Mark can be expensive. If you think about the car at 7.5k, standard 276bhp. The cars very rarely dyno what they are supposed to have . Some have dyno'd even as low as 230ish. A plenum spacer plus fitting will set you back £180ish + an hour or 2 labour if youre not handy with a spanner. Decent air filter will be about 35quid. Decats/hfc £140ish-400 plus labour, decent exhaust(cheapest I'd recommend is scorpion) around £385, decent y-pipe £200ish + labour. Even after all of this you will not see any power gains without a remap using uprev(on standard ecu) or a standalone ecu -420ish +fuel So all on you'll be about £1600-£2000 to get anywhere near 300bhp and even then you might not achieve it. The 350z is also a fuel guzzler if you drive it hard. Right now I'm only seeing around 200miles out a tank of £100 of v-power. The lowest I've seen on mpg is 6mpg and the most I've seen in 23mpg, I average 16mpg usually on a tank of mixed driving. If you drive softly you will see more but who buys a 300hp to drive softly. Just thought I'd share the info to give you an insight to what to expect. -

Haha me 2 -
I actually think that's quite nice. Wouldn't do it myself but looks like an eye-catcher. Lol ps2 that made me laugh! If you're gonna go retro you have to do I right. My buddy usedto have a sega mega drive in his old megane 225 sport.

Nah - All this talk about drifting and handling a Zed without TCS and no-one has mentioned the need for the Zed to have a decent LSD over the frankly naff OE viscous type. Best mod on my (well now Keysers) Zed was the Kaaz diff - better on track than the SC IMHO - totally controllable sideways action (when it eventually let go) and far better putting down the power. I'm sure I did
-
Brilliant! Lol I made a fail, I have altered to what I should have said lol
-
If that's true, then you're really not trying hard enough Falkens aren't the grippiest of tyres in any condition, and with 300bhp to play with you should be lighting them up at will. I like to think of falkens as the rich tea biscuit of the tyre world, a little bit of heat and they go all soggy and mushy. I can light up pzero's, re050's and ps2's on a 275/35/19 size. It's very easy to do so but it means you're driving poorly unless intentional. If you can't spin falkens then you haven pushed hard enough.
-
Yours is the facelift ... Could be an alteration between the two models? It could be mate. I've also had a massive amount of suspension changes and wheel alignment changes done to the car. Don't get me wrong if I drive "badly" i can light it when going into 4th. In all honestly, with all due respect, I think the driver has the most effect on the tcs due to driving style.
-
I can push very very hard on track without it lighting up. The only place I had it kick in is coming out of the hairpin in at Knockhill in second and catching the kerb causing a little spin. Even with it the stability control stays active. I had it at kick in ,even with tcs off, when I came out the chicane at knockers. I caught the kerbstone and it shifted the weight of the car causing it to slide a bit and I could feel it working my front brakes. As said I push very very hard and it doesn't light up often
-
Each to their own. It's all personal taste. Nobody is right or wrong. Are you sure? It's a Volvo so nawt wrong with that mascot. Lol hey don't start that you ! I have a very nice xc90 sitting in my back garden lol

But... as I said earlier... I get bogged down in 2nd taking off briskly (not stupidly) and also my TCS cuts the power in quite a few places I driver regularly. Tried with the TCS off, driving in the same style and the tires don't even start to let go. Do I have a problem with my TCS? I don;t think so, as when it IS wet, it has slapped me on the wrist once or twice, exactly when I needed it. So why not turn it off in the dry? If you have throttle finesse it shouldnt need to kick in. So maybe something is wrong with your TCS? Certainly I never had that problem. I could do laps of the Car Limits track with TCS on and it rarely lit up, only when I was really pushing it. Maybe my car was a freak? Remember suspension set up and wheel alignment has alot to do with traction aswell. I run really aggressive toe an aggressive camber. I can push very hard through a corner without any issues but if I change gear too harsh in a straight line I can get the tcs to flash.

That's some pretty cool stuff mate. I agree that many people will never realise the potential the zed has. Once the tyres are upto temp the car is very predictable and progressive. Even when it slides out it's very stable and I feel safe doing it. I have been clocking up many hours of track driving trying to improve and get more confident. My ability runs out well before the car but that will come with time. What the zed does lack is straight line speed. It handles beautifully but takes it's time on the straight. Hopefully the nitrous install will help take that feel away from it. I have been known to 8 sets of rear tyres in the first 13 months kinda suggests that I have done, though I try not to now Ive got 19's on the back. Im not in competition as I dont have the time (Im too competitive anyway, cant stand losing and Im not good enough to win ) but I am certainly "pretty good" - I can drift in 4th gear and have seen entry speeds of over 100mph, and Im quite happy twin/triple/train drifting with people As Ive said before, when you are happy going round a private roundabout on the lockstops banging off the limiter in 3rd, a bit of a TCS flash isnt quite such a concern. If you dont ever see the light then IMO you arent using the car to its capability - I saw it on my first test drive Like a rev limiter its there for a reason, its not a bad thing if it flashes up. The TCS is definitely a bit too quick to come in, but its a safety device and as such works well. Ive known a couple of lads with MK IV Supras get to 90 degrees before it kicks in, and you can imagine what happens then ............ Remember, youve got traction control under your right foot as well ............ ITs actually a pretty safe car to slide, its very square on the road, progressive and predictable when comared to an S2K or even an RX8 - I think a lot of drivers would benefit from some additional training as I think you would be suprised just how capable these cars are
-
Wow I take back what I said. That looks bloody awesome! Didn't like them off the car but it looks brilliant on
-
I think it is spelt "bad" not mad.... Plus they look VERY VERY heavy. Not my cup of tea... +1 don't like the style at all. Although these may be great wheels I do believe there is better looking, similar quality wheels for less. These belong on an amercan muscle car imo
-
Do you drift the zed docrwa? Do you do it professionally ?
-
Haha I turn mine off in the wet lol. In the dry my traction control doesn't really interfere at all but in the wet it's a pain. On track with it on, from my experience, it allows me to go a little bit sideways before slapping the wrist. The G man's 370z traction control interferes quite alot from what he said about it in Wales. He was out in mines with it on and I'm sure he'll agree it only interferes to save you when being silly.
