  1. +1 my old mech put too much on mine and it was everywhere on the wheels and hubs etc.
  2. I concur... But I'm pretty sure the competition spec stuff will be much more advanced than the off the shelf stuff. Most competition stuff isn't road legal. Kw v3's are road legal but if you step up a grade to clubsport then I'm sure they're not road legal. Meister r's are very well priced but I'm sure people were hesitant like me due to the price being so affordable, it casts doubts. More long term reviews under the stress of the very heavy 350z would help satisfy people's views I reckon. After seeing keysers tein shocker snapped it makes me worry about such stuff.
  3. Isn't this what happens when the head gasket is fooked? I wouldn't be driving it in the mean time until its been looked at. What year and mileage is the car?
  4. It was always a pleasure being "moderated" by you don't know how you lot do it to be honest... At least your Internet usage will have dropped significantly now, isp's will be happy and you will have saved on co2 emissions.... Mr green eco man will be jumping for joy
  5. Mines will be due some tlc soon. Mines have the external reservoirs on them. Need to double check what maintenance is required. I originally thought about meister r's but because they were such a good price I thought they would be too good to be true and I'd waste money. Still happy with the kw v3's though even though they were a tad expensive
  6. Has a remarkable resemblance to cragus's car
  7. Bloody hell mate!! Nightmare... Hope your on the mend soon Hope there was no damage to the car...
  8. Alex has slicks for sale and they have loads of life in them. Alex wouldn't sell them otherwise. Re040's are great in the dry and heat, terrible on the cold and wet. I don't drive hard enough to get enough heat into them on track on wet. For 450 you got a good deal. Those will last you most of the summer I reckon.
  9. Dont know many people on here who have used either. Went for kw v3's myself as these are tried and tested. People forget about maintenance of adjustable shockers and I've seen a fair few broken these days. Keyser took his old tein adjustable shocks off to find one of top securing points had snapped off. IMO you only get what you pay for. I know meister r are very well liked on other forums.
  10. These still fit in the coupe but just don't cover the full boot area. I had one as an extra to quieten the road noise a little more and protect the nice mat underneath from crap.
  11. Go for the two seats and enjoy it while you can. Won't be long until the wedding and baby's come and ruin all the fun
  12. I find my Bose more than adequate if you play about the settings. I play alot of grime, r&b, hip hop and dance they all sound fine. Plenty of bass also. Unless you really want the world to hear it or are gonna do sound comps then the Bose will be fine
  13. Don't really want to go off topic here but who are you insured with Neil? I only ask as I'm quite a few years older with 2 years NCB and I pay almost double that amount .. Cheers Hi mate I'm with admiral multicar but on a policy with about 130k worth of cars on it. We have 5 cars on it which brought it from 700 to around 600 for the year. My Suzuki swift sport wonly most as much as the zed at 400 for the year. It's my area I'm in. Oh just realised in 24 now, not 23. We live in a reasonably quiet village which is why my insurance is cheaper. If I move to the next village I'm alot more as its a shithole.
  14. +1 but don't buy cheap crap. If springs cost 250 plus a set then how do you expect coilovers to be decent for an extra few hundred quid. Coilovers for a decent set will be 800+ easy. You'll need all adjustable camber arms and toe bolts also to sort out the allignment as eibachs push it out enough and beyond that then the allignment will be awful
  15. I was 1300 when I was 21 with a beauty of a crash on me. Just renewed and I'm now £565 @ 23 years old and 3 yr Ncb. Welcome to the club! Lots of nice well prices and well looked after zeds on here. Most people are willing to help check new cars out for new members etc so don't keep quiet, let everyone know and most of us will do as much as we can to help out. As for the flywheel, its always been recommended to change the flywheel with the clutch. Most people who have ordered new clutches will end up having to replace the flywheel soon after which means double labour costs. Usually 2-3 hours to do both seems the going timescale for the change of clutch and fly
  16. Should be set the same as the manufacturers original. I'm running -2.5 camber all round If i remember correctly. Can't remember what the tie settings are just now. Mines is set up for track but it's still not right and requires alot more adjustment. I'd aim for manufacturers spec for every day use. Eibachs knock it miles out.. Mines did when I had them. Munched the inside walls of tyres..
  17. Excellent news bro! Glad someone snapped up this pristine example of a machine. I'm sure they will have many many years of fun with her.

    Reg change over

Shouldn't. You're right. But Glaswegian dvla employees are a rare breed It used to be instant and then you had to wait for the documents to arrive. They change the tax disc there and then.... Recently I heard they done away with this service in there office and it now takes a few days. Took my mate 2 weeks for his stuff to changeover from his q7 to his 5 series he just bought. That was done through a dealer and included the time for the documents to arrive.
  19. Im dying to get her back but I usually SORN her over the winter so usually put her back on the road in march. I'm just looking forward to the 100hp hit of Nitrous Cant wait to see if its all been worth while. Theres a stanalone AEM engine management system going in it, the centre cubby is getting modified to take the gauges, Harness bar getting welded in at correct height behind the seats and will also help stiffen the car up a bit. I'll keep my mouth quiet about the rest of the stuff going on until closer to the time
  20. You can get the Falkens for about £100 a tyre a think ....every little helps! I got a full set fitted for £500 a few weeks back. I get on okay with Falkens myself, but I dont really push my car hard. Most people find that on 19's they are much better. I go through loads of tyres, just destroyed a set of mps2's in 2000 miles . Not happy with the re050a's though as the car is very skittish in the wet with them. Ps2's were amazing. Got r888's sitting there for the 18's. Gonna invest in the federals for the 19's I think. A guy had them on his focus rs and the grip on track was unbelievable and very hard wearing. Not your normal federal tyre I believe. I'm sure it was Captain that was saying to me how great he finds the Goodyears
  21. Im hoping to collect in jan/feb time but depending on what else i send down to them to get done will effect when i'll get it back tbh. As long as I have it for march/april time I'll be happy They are Honda Accord Type R Recaro's mate
  22. any thoughts on the above post mate?
  23. I've just had a chat with him over the phone and he said pretty much what you said, he'll have a look but may/probably will be a case of cutting the damaged section out and welding a new section in, either way he's only charging for paint as he owes me a massive favour after I bailed his business out earlier in the year. which is why I'm considering getting a spoiler and front splitters at the same time to get my monies worth Good to hear its on the mend. Get the goodies on while the paint gun is still out
  24. R888's are slightly excessive if you dont do any trackdays I think lol they are but would also be a great summer tyre for all the guys who like to give it some on back roads. Another option is the federal road legal semi-slick, Getting great reviews. Best all round tyre for a zed is probably the goodyears imo
