  1. There was a complete jap k2 system on ebay recently incl y pipe for £200 ish if I recall. Thought it was cheapish
  2. The main difference i can see is the reach. The proper ones are 26mm reach and your ones are 19mm. The electrode will not be within the combustion chamber and will cause you problems using the shorter ones I would suggest you return them
  3. I think to summarise early mk 1 cars have the 276 bhp engine 2004/2005 era mk circa 2006 are 296 mk2 and the later ones 300+ mk3 I believe the main power difference between mk 1 and mk2 can be achieved by the introduction of a plenum spacer mk3 has a totally different engine--thus the bonnet bulge ( some members are reporting a bit of oil usage with this engine) I dont really believe there is really much noticable difference and the earlier models tax is lower after march or sometime in 2006 the tax went up to over 400 There may be a few suspension tweeks in the later models too i believe EITHER OPTION IS BETTER THAN A TT
  4. Thats probably about right My local dealer charges £40 per hour . If you are supplying all fluids then sounds ok- I know they quoted me £14 per spark plug, plus labour and £12 per litre for fully sync oil but are happy for me to supply. I think given the economic climate and a lot of people not servicing their cars their a lot more flexible nowadays sounds very cleap if they are supplying the brake fluid and coolant

  6. Yes That sounds like the noise I had before the banana shaped bar was replaced. They seem to wear about 60k miles although that would depend i guess on the road surface. If one side has gone the other will be soon after
  7. Insurance seems to be a bit of a lottery at the min My renewal sent by my broker was £869 went onto go compare, admiral were £380 went back to broker and told them they were tooooo expensive , 20 mins later they phoned back with £349. Thats with a well known company. Makes you wonder sometimes

  13. We have had a awful lot of water here too Took the Z out yesterday and had a major problem I have the jwt fitted and was driving through sum standing water on a B road slowly about 20mph in second gear. After pulling away the car started spluttering and backfiring above 3000rpm. Scared the **** outa me as i thought it had sucked some in. I pulled in and hada look and the filter was soaked in water, let it sit idling for 20 mins and away it went again no harm done. all back to normal. I thought the jwt would have been high enough to avoid this but obviously not Looks like its back on with the stock airbox for the winter Just be carefull
  14. Nice car, Like the front brakes--they must really stop you
  15. Cheers Mike I had a read down through the guide--simples My query is that i think the adjuster is over compensating for anything i put in the boot (self levelling mechanism) Where is it automatically sensed from--I know the motors are working but does anyone know where the sensor that controls them is
  16. I was told by a mechanic that some of the later oils ( fully synthetic) state that they exceed the specification of gl4 and 5. This does not however mean that they are compatible with each other and truth be told if nissan specify a gl4 then this is for a good reason. I was told that it is the specific additive used in gl5 that is the problem and that it will attack the brass syncro rings. Personally i would not use any oil that stated gl5 and i know at the time i carried out the oil change there were good gl4 oils available.
  17. Hi all I was driving home last night and noticed my headlights were really not good. The beam was hitting the road approx 4m in front of the car I pulled over, turned the lights off and on again and they were at a higher level and then slowly appeared to drop down again. With HID lights the level seems to be adjusted automatically --where is this controlled from Other cars i have owned had a knob with 2 or 3 settings for headlight level--it seems mine has decided to adjust itself too low
  18. Well just back home this morning after a hectic weekend, Thanks guys for making me welcome on Sunday i was totally wrecked 1400 miles over two days is a bit much but hey I couldnt have a better car to travel in Just a few pics taken
