  1. My mate in his garage was replacing all my pads with Redstuff pads last night and when he came to do the drivers side front, when pushing the piston back to get the pads out the disc moved. So it looks like the disc is only held firmly in place by the wheel? Is this correct, don't think I have ever owned a car where the disc is not locked in place via at least one nut? I'm getting a bit paranoid in case something was missing, but we couldn't see that was the case. And the passenger side wheel was already back in place so we didn't have a chance to compare. Perhaps it was just a case that the passenger side disc was stuck better with the heat than drivers one. If anyone can please just confirm there are no bolts holding the disc in place that would be great, tried looking for a guide but could only see a non-brembo one and it only showed pictures for back wheels... The good news is the Redstuff pads are superb, they have a real bite to them. Extremely please with them, thanks again to CS for the very quick delivery
  2. Erm, dial a number like you would do any other time? It says in the user manual how to use the voice commands, can't remember if you say Dial Number then say all the digits or not, but it's something along those line, Oh, that's after you hit the call button on the steering wheel of course to put it into voice recognition mode.
  3. Why would you just not put the iPhone on a holder placed in the cup holder in the passenger side? The problem with putting it in a cubby is you really need to see the display to see what playlists etc your selecting. I use the holder you get out of Asda for about £20, holds the Ipod brilliantly and also the added bonus that my HTC Touch Diamond sits great on it as well if I'm not using the Ipod.
  4. Ordered a set of redstuff pads from the Cougar Store on Tuesday and they arrived with me yesterday so can't recommend them any higher than that. And at a really good price as well, check out CS's signature, much cheaper than I seen anywhere else. Mate has his own garage and is fitting them for me at 4 today, so will post my opinion on the pads once they have bedded in.
  5. Do you play on a 42 inch tv, also in hd? He probably doesn't, but he probably plays on something like a 19" LCD monitor at HIGHER resolutions than HD Have to agree that FPS games are a million times more enjoyable on PC than on consoles, but I still buy them on the 360 and PS3 and then get infuriated due to struggling to aim properly with a controller. Wish they would allow you to use a keyboard and mouse with the 360. But obviously this is not in Microsofts interest as people would stop buying PC games which in turn would mean less operating systems being sold etc etc
  6. Many thanks to John (JT1703) who has offered my his old back box since he had a different exhaust system fitted. I assume the back box didn't change from a 54 plate to an 05 plate?? That WOULD be just my luck Any, thanks a million John. Life saver. Going to meet up to collect it off him on his way to the Glasgow meet next Sunday. Still gutted at missing that
  7. Last night when leaving work I noticed my exhaust was blowing louder than usual. Went to mates garage this morning and it's splitting right after the joint of the back box, by that I mean on the pipe which is connected to the back box. So I either need to get a new back box or get the split mig welded, I am tending to think it's better just getting the new box. Mines is the standard exhaust so the question I have is--- Is it cheaper to buy a different exhaust ie Scorpion etc than getting another standard box from Nissan. Anyone any ideas about price. I see a Scorpion exhaust on Cougars site for £360, but this looks like the full exhaust system or is it just the back box? Also I want to get this sorted asap as that extra noise is spoiling the usual growl I'm used to
  8. It really is worth finding another paintless dent repair company to have a look as the first company I had look at a very similar dent, albeit about and inch and a half higher on the door, told me the metal was stretched so couldn't fix without a fill and paint the full door. Got a guy out to the house and he fixed it within 30 minutes, I can't even see where the dent once was which I couldn't believe. It's very worrying though when he is hammering with what looks like a chisel on the dent, it's made of some kind of wax and it was leaving small marks everytime he was doing it. I thought it was marking the paint for sure, but he polishes it when finished and you can't see a thing.
  9. I had only read the first post and clicked on the link to donate immediately so didn't realise ticking raffle ticket would invalidate the giftaid, as I ticked giftaid before it asked that question.. I lost my Mum in 92 to cancer after she battled it for many years and had got the all clear from breast cancer, only to come back from Christmas with my big brother in Germany to find it had spread to her liver and other organs....Airdrie Hospice were a great help to us during that time and I will always donate to hospices because the support and work they provide is first class
  10. Hi mate, yeah I'm defo up for it, I just posted in that section... I'm not actually from Glasgow, I'm from Greenock, just use Glasgow as I didn't realise there were going to be so many Scottish members on here lol I was going to say the pics looked like either Greenock or Gourock. Welcome aboard, only got mine at very end of March and still have the big smile on my face every time I turn that key
  11. I bought one yesterday off ebay and it was delivered this morning, fits fine and looking forward to testing with the shopping, but looks like it will hold everything in place at last:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400046465961
  12. I have a kuro black 350z and when it's washed and as sparkling as it can I notice a fair bit of swirling when looking up right close. I have never polished any car I have ever owned but this is the first black car so it's more noticeable and annoying, last 3 cars have all been silver so just a good wash makes them sparkle. What would people recommend I use to eliminate the swirls and bring it back to it's best. Don't care how much the polish, wax, clay etc costs. If I can go buy the stuff from the likes of Halfords then all the better as I'm very impatient and hate it when I order things online then have to wait for it
  13. No.1 looks very similar to Goodyear Eagle F1's.
  14. Damn, would have loved to be there tonight, especially if the weather is going to be a little bit better than Friday night. But I had already agreed to go thru to Edinburgh to record a Scottish Snooker match.....
  15. I tried Halfords at the weekend thinking it would be a cheap place to find the cargo net but couldn't see any in there. So ordered a Pug 307 cargo net today off ebay, came in at £10 including the delivery. Will let you know as soon as I receive it if it's ok with the link so you could use the same seller. Was also going to buy a stubby aerial off ebay since read that Honda S2000 one's fit, but just as I was about to buy one I read another thread which stated they bought them and the thread was different.
  16. Added second video link which is a lot longer
  17. Thought I would post the link in the proper section as well. Wish the weather was better Here is link to longer video, apologies for the chit chat on the video....
  18. Was behind me as we were heading west bound on M8, come out and went past giving me a little wave as I was going onto slip road to go towards Clydeside Expressway.
  19. Passed by me on my way home from Knockhill, don't know if they were heading to Knockhill.
  20. My big brother bought a white Lotus Espirit when I had just turned 16, which I am afraid to say was 24 years ago, that was a real headturner as you next to never seen any supercars driving about. I was just about to leave school so would phone him to come pick me up, everybody at high school was extremely jeldo. Biggest problem was the windscreen was a flat piece of glass so when the sun was shining it was terrible for reflections and glare...

    Cargo Net

I am on the lookout for the cargo net for the boot, only ones I ever see on Ebay are in the States or Canada. Don't know if it's something the dealers here have in stock as I reckoned they would vastly more expensive than elsewhere. Just fed up on the odd occasion I go to the supermarket and pick up a bag of messages and them going all over the boot when I forget they are there
  22. I don't know if they offer a selection of brake pads, I wouldn't get anything less than the Redstuff pads or better anyway. But the question still remains, could it be the brakes causing this whistling sound? Although I think I have really answered that myself with the fact it stops if I touch the brake pedal...
  23. In the past week at random times I hear a whistling sound, at first I thought one of the air vents wasn't shut properly as that the type of whistle it is. Then I noticed I can hear it if I open my window, so it seems to be coming from the drivers wheel. If I even just touch the brakes it stops. Now I don't know if this is a coincidence or not but I had two new front Bridgestone tyres fitted in Kwik Fit last Monday and it must have been Tuesday or Wednesday I first noticed this whistling sound. And the guy in Kwik Fit said I will need brake pads shortly, didn't need them right now but there were around 5mm on them.... I know they will probably fit the cheapest of the cheap pads but he said they do a lifetime guarantee, so while you own the car if it needs new pads they are supplied and fitted FOC....for life. Sounds a great deal, but then I was thinking I might only change the pads once in my ownership of the car anyway as they are probably more expensive than anywhere else and it would only be cost effective if I got 2 or more changes out of the deal. Anyway, that's a side issue. Is it the pads causing the whistling or something else?
  24. Yes, I have been round that way on drives at weekends many times and it's a cracking drive. I stayed just outside of Drymen for 3 years and it's a lovely drive up by there, had many many races up by the queens view. In the summer you get loads of bikers, had one guy overtake me along the queens view going about 80mph doing a wheelie.......some of those guys are nuts but a joy to watch them going right over on their knee taking a tight bend while I am standing on the brake
  25. It was there the following day as well. Do you park by driving in at the Marriot hotel entrance and then thru security or do you mean across the road from Cadogan square business centre?
