  1. thats a bonus, and helps widen the search, seen some for sale at 110-130k and that put me off a little. That's not to say I haven't had to spend any money caring for it though! There are a few threads on high mileage, but I'd say watch out for worn bushes (front banana arm and differential in particular), which can of course be replaced but it's not an easy job on your own. Check for any advisories on the MOT sheets, etc... Ask what fuel it has been run on (should be premium fuel for correct combustion). But overall, other than general advice, I don't think there are many issues specific to the 350Z to be concerned about.

  7. Good spec and he's clearly put a lot of work into it... but £1000 deposit to start it and prove you have funds?? Do I have to wear a suit and book an appointment with his outer office too? Yeah we all hate time wasters but it's not an 'effing Veyron!

    So infuriating. My passenger door is full of little debts from careless morons. Sadly it's rare thing for people to even apologise these days, let alone offer to pay for repairs...

  11. Nah - looks like a standard import that has just had the body kit and been badged up. I think the proper NISMO versions came out later and had uprated suspension, etc...

  15. If you're on high mileage then it possible that the timing chain tensioners have extended far enough to cause a noise/knocking whilst idling. I think a few folks have now gotten to the point of replacing the chain. Not sure what what to advise on the fuel dampener though.
  16. It is if you have an aftermarket style intake! Otherwise sounds like air escaping from somewhere as it's being sucked in, and the clicking noise is probably air escaping in time with the engine turning over. Could be the gasket between the upper and lower plenum. Check all your hoses and jubilee clips and see if you can track down the clicking noise
  17. Could be a dicky gasket then, but unlijely and wouldn't think you'd hear from above the engine bay. Are you able to pinpoint the source?
  18. I've actially gone back to the stock airbox mate - best for performance. Some CAI might get a marginal improvement at the very top end but not sure.
  19. Sounds like an air leak to me. Have tou had any work done or had the plenum off? Pass some tissue around seals near the sound to see if catches any escaping air.
  20. Very unlikely mate but you could disconnect the battery as a precaution. I've had my steering wheel on/off a few times with no issues.

  23. PM me you're email address mate and I'll send you some info (might be Sunday/Monday before I can sort it). Don't worry about taking the steering wheel off - it's very easy as long as you have the torx security bit and basic sockets/screwdriver.
  24. I've done this mate. I believe wrapping it can be done with them in place but I don't have the skills or tools for that! I don't think you can pry them off - can't quite remember but I believe they are screwed in from behind. Personally I took the whole steering wheel off and dismantled it - worth it though as it is much easier to then get the wrapping right. Just make sure you put it back on straight! It's pretty straightforward to remove the steering but you will need a security torx bit to remove it - I can check the size later but you can get a little set from screwfix for about £5.00.
  25. The zed ain't exactly the easiest car to use at a drive-though, I can never reach the feckin' service window. Not that I frequently chow at McDonald's or anything...
