  1. Awesome collection of Zeds there, something to aspire to! And im settled on getting a V2 rear wing now after seeing that gold one in almost profile with the V2 front
  2. I would have thought Horsham Developments would be the closest one to you. They are just off the A34+M4 junction.
  3. Could it be wheel bearing? Just reading all the responses, and see the wheels have been swapped over, the suspension checked etc. Jack the car up at the front drivers side, and see if you can wobble the wheel at all at the top and bottom. Would only take a tasty bang into the kerb or a pot hole to damage the wheel bearing.
  4. Iv been down to see Karl and Jez to get my lower control arm bushes fitted, and my new brake lines. Great guys, and great service. Just take food with you if you are spending the day there. Plus any surplus Red Bull you may have laying around.
  5. Yes,fair play to Lotus, they have certainly got better throughout the season, and next year will be running an RB7 box and KERS,which should prove interesting for everyone. I think its fair to say that we have a good package, and that there is now not a track that we can see as our weakest, though to be honest,id happily swap the straight line speed and have more downforce,as the last 4 tracks will be a real test for us,if Suzuka is anything to go by. But im sure its all part of the master plan. Im certainly looking forward to going to Brazil next month!
  6. I know some people think it was abit strong of Seb to block JB,but it can no way be compared to the Shui and Rubens incident. For a start, there was no wall to squeeze JB to,and secondly,JB was behind SV,not alongside like it was with Rubens. I didnt see anyone moaning about how Alonso should have got a penalty when he squeezed SV onto the grass at Monza doing stupid speeds. SV just got on with, and pulled off a brilliant overtake. But everyone will see things differently,at the end of the day,it was a racing incident. And in the end,you can say that it equalled itself out with JB winning the race anyhow. I think we have maybe substituted some of our ultimate downforce for straight line speed. If you see how we were in Spa and Monza, where we won,and yet we come to a track where ever one thought we would dominate, and we were abit slower. Its swings and roundabouts really, but the last 4 races will be very interesting.
  7. Well, old Seb managed to seal the deal, congratulations to him. Yesterday was a strange one. I had to go into work at 11 saturday night, left just after 1am. So had less than 4 hours sleep before the race started, but what a race. Hats off to JB,he deserved that. Though the stupid comment after the race when the drivers were waiting to go on the podium was uncalled for i think. Just goes to cement my dislike for the bloke. Never mind. Stayed up after the race to watch the red button forum, and then had a christening to go to. Made it till 3pm,then had to leave and have a nap at home. Next weekend will be the big one, hopefully we can get a 1-2 and do the constructors at Korea. Also got VIP to the BTCC at Silverstone next weekend, aswell as people staying over,so should be a good weekend.

    Tyre dilemma....

The 452's are highly regarded as being the best tyre on a budget, with 90% of the performance of the MPS's etc at half the price. Iv got them in 19",and happy to say they are great in wet and dry conditions, with well telegraphed limits, and nice break away. I can really feel when the tyres are reaching their limits.
  9. Awesome video chap, sorry that she is gone. Couldnt help but notice this little gem Made me laugh. I know there are a few of them on YouTube, but this is one of the best.

    fuel economy

I think I'd have to disagree with you on freewheeling - correct don't use the brakes, because you have wasted the energy getting there, just use natural engine braking. Also when freewheeling the engine will use fuel to turn the engine over and keep firing, however, keep it in gear going downhill, just take you foot off the accelerator - the momentum keeps the engine turning ie use gravity to power the engine not petrol I am no mechanic/engineer - so feel free to shoot me down Hmmm. you learn something new every day. What I found with the golf was that under engine braking the car would slow down quicker, whereas if free wheeling, you could happily freewheel for a much greater distance - so if i saw cars braking up ahead of me on the road I could just time it so id freewheel up to them, whereas with engine braking, the car would end up stopping too soon, and id have to accelerate again. You can cover quite a long distance sometimes through freewheeling, esp if down hill - so in effect you could be travelling at 60mph, but engine revs are just idling at 600rpm - compared to whatever revs you`d normally be pulling travelling at 60mph. I know on my golf it made a huge difference, but maybe on the zed things are different. As someone else said, at any rate, the zed isnt the car to have if your worried about saving a few mpg! Think diesels run a higher compression than petrol so have greater engine braking! Not to mention a heavier flywheel and probably clutch assembly. That will slow you down a treat. My commute is 30 miles each way. Thats with a few milton keynes round abouts, abit of town driving through Towcester, and some A roads (43+5). My average consumption is 24-25 MPG over a full tank. (Which lasts 7 days)
  11. Well, this weekend Vettel can,and hopefully will secure his second drivers championship title, and hopefully in Korea,RB can secure the constructors championship! Looking forward to the next 2 races!
  12. Well I got in the car this morning and there was a little flying bug thing in there. Would this cause the alarm to go off? It was like a green fly thing.
  13. Had a random problem last night, the alarm kept going off,not what you need when you in bed asleep! It went off once before bed (was parked up for a few hours before it started happening) ,then went off again when we had gone to bed. All windows and doors closed etc. Has anyone got any ideas why this is happening? Battery going flat or something? Hope i can get it sorted ASAP,as dont want to leave the Zed unlocked too much, which is what i did last night.
  14. Cheapest quote for insurance on the shed is £460,using a comparison site. Havnt called my insurance company yet, thats 3rd party F+T. Maybe my insurance company could reduce my Zed cover,as itl be parked up,and replace it with my Shed cover. If i get a shed,i could also sell my standard Rays, and make some money back. Not to mention the fuel saving of around £50 a week for the next few months. Just need to convince the Mrs now.
  15. Excess is £350 I dont know the insurance on the Shed, but its group6. Id probably keep the shed,as we have the space, and maybe use it as a run around to keep miles off the Zed. Currently doing a tank a week on the Zed,so the cut in fuel would be welcome. Im in Brackley, near Banbury, and i have to get up 2 fairly steep long slopes to get up to my house.
  16. Iv just seen my ideal shed advertised for £1000. Its going to cost me over £600 for winter tyres. My tax is also due up at the end of the month,im aware thats only a few days. lol Cant decide weather to shed it or Zed it this winter. Survived last year on my standard 18's with normal tyres, and when it was really bad,ie snow, i took the Mrs Swift Sport. The shed comes with enough MOT and Tax to last me this winter,so thats not an issue, plus being a smaller engine, will cost me less in fuel, and will be better equipped for the winter months. Thoughts on this please.
  17. I thought the genuine Nismo stuff was all fibreglass anyway. Id be abit vary though, and would want to see proof its a Nismo part
  18. IMO if there was a few more laps left Button would have taken Vettel. Vettel is a great driver, but he doesnt seem to quite have the knack of getting up close and personal when battling. I think Button would have chosen a point to take him and exectuted it. Of course RB played this down saying Seb had it all in hand, but I'm not conviced he did. The RB car is quite obviously an amazing bit of kit and no one is faster in qualifying, but I think the MacLaren always seems to be very strong at the end of races. Like Ekona said; If Button could get a Pole or Second grid place and a start like he did in Singapore, I very much doubt Vettel would be able to challange to the first corner Button doesn't tend to wimp out! Completetely agree with you Chris, I heard "Vettel controlled the race and LET Button catch him up"...yeah okay... It always seems to me that McLaren are very late with they're battle cry, always a few laps before the end, sometimes maybe they should just let Button go for it! You say that, but if you look at all the races that Vettel has lead, its gets to a point where he slows down abit, saves fuel and tyres, and lets the gap close up to 3 seconds or so,then just maintains the gap. (Without wanting to sound like Christian at Silverstone) I must admit,i was a little worried with the amount of traffic he had,but he knows what he is doing. Reliability this year has been incredible,i think everyone is very impressed in the way Renault have stepped up their game, and the mechanics are getting more experienced with dealing with the very tight packaging demands uncle Adrian designs.
  19. Congratulations i guess are due. you're obviousley doing youre job properly mate. u gonna buy me a HKS kit with the bonus i'm sure u'll be getting soon? Sorry chap,no chance im afraid. IF we get a bonus this year, its already spent.
  20. It was a pretty uneventful race at the front, but the mid field battles were superb. Not quite sure what Hamilton though he was doing ramming Massa, but then he wasnt too impressed with him during qualifying. Mr Schumacher was abit unfortunate running into the back of the Sauber, but you would think he would have enough experience now to know where the front of the car is. As for Vettel and RB,well, its been an amazing season, and although some of the results have come from being abit lucky,i still think we deserve to be where we are now. The whole team has done a great job, including Renault,so hats off to everyone. (Sorry)
  21. Looked at this the other day,and considered buying it,glad its worth it. Im sure my Mrs will be well impressed that there is another game to divert my attention from her!
  22. Car looks great Adrian, you must be very happy with it.
