Dave put my mind at rest about a LW flywheel, and im glad i did it. Had it in around a year now, and just consider the noise part of the Zed now. Really worth it IMO, and once you have driven with it in, then you realise what your missing out on.

Wouldnt you say that Corvette and Nissan both copied the old style Ferrari round lights?
-
Some of them were close your eyes moments! Especially at the end, the young lad crawling out the Lada and the guy that jumps through the screen of his lorry! Just HOW?
-
Sorry i missed the F2-F5000 race, well 99% of it. We were walking back to the camp site for some more beverages and a change of clothes. Il get some pictures up in the next day or so. Really good day out. Shame we got soaked saturday night.
-
Glad you got it sorted in the end. Out of interest, what calipers and discs do you run?
-
Thats a great picture Will. Really enjoyed the day, the evening was a little rubbish due to the weather, but i guess you had a nice hotel room or nice motorhome or something. Hoping to go again next year, and hoping the weather will improve.

Were you heading down the A43 at around 8.30-8.45 from Northampton way? We were heading out of McDonalds at Towcester at around that time, and i saw a silver 350z. We got very wet yesterday evening!

Good result for your car, well done!

The tints have been on the car since before I got it, and nobody has ever mentioned it,and iv had the car 3 years. As far as im aware, you are allowed a max of 30% tint

Had a real nightmare yesterday after trying to reset the window motor on the passenger side. Ended up wasting a couple of hours, and ripping the tint on the window. Would REALLY like this sorted today. Have exhausted Google for window tinting around me, so clutching at straws but was hoping someone on here would be able to help me out. Im at Silverstone Classic tomorrow, so even if someone was based at the track then that could work.
-
Ah cool, sounds like you are going to have a good day.
-
Ah wow, real old school! What company do you work for? Really looking forward to it.

Anyone going to The Classic this weekend? There is a group of 8 of us going tomorrow and camping over night. Cant wait, should be epic.
-
Holy smokes,that will do it!

No, grew up in Stifford Clays, went to William Edwards and then lived with my dad at Woodside for a few years. Now live in Milton Keynes

Train was going way too fast for that corner. You can see a few carriages back from the 'engine' ruck up. Maybe the driver slammed the brakes on too late or something. Either way, terrible accident

Hi and welcome. Where abouts in Essex you from? There is tons of info on the forum about what to look for etc, its a library of info, search is your friend.

The Zed was sold and I bought Vauxhall to replace it...
Daryl replied to coldel's topic in Other Cars
Fair play. I really like these, and i think when the time comes to get a family car, i will get one of these to pop into the garage for sunny days. I have 2 friends with mk1 Elise's, and they are great cars, really enjoy driving them, but I always do things differently, and was a VX man before I went to a Z. -
General Track Day Advice for a Beginner
Daryl replied to Oz Striker's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Also, dont concentrate on going fast straight away, build up the speed slowly. If you try to go fast straight away, you will probably spank it, so take your time, and get your lines right for the corners first, then just go a little faster each time. My first track day i spent the morning with the TC on, and by the lunch break was finding that it was hindering me rather than helping me. Try going round with the TC on to start with, get things tidy, then when you are happy, turn it off and see how you get on. You may find the TC will be going abit mental as you have the wrong tyres on the front. -
General Track Day Advice for a Beginner
Daryl replied to Oz Striker's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Looks like you have the wrong tyres on the front, as they are meant to be staggered,225 on the front,245 on the rear. Personally, id scrap the whole set of tyres and start a fresh with the correct sizes. That said, if you are doing a track day, and your first track day, it probably wont hurt to run them if you swapped the front to the rears. (Though the wheels are different front to rear I believe, so you may have to swap the tyres on the rims if you wanted to go down this route) From what iv read the Re050's are pretty decent, just take some time to get up to temp. (Check your pressures as often as possible to start with to keep them within a good window) Dont worry about the tyres being too sticky, you will still be able to slide the car around if thats what you want to do. Personaly, id do a track day on your own if its your first, that way you can concentrate on building momentum and nailing the corners etc. I find that if you go with mates, then the inevitable happens, and you try to keep up/ahead of them. But i am very competitive. lol Bedford is very good for learning the car, as it has huge run off areas, and very little to hit. (Dont ride the kerb on the last corner, stay clear of it) Remove everything out the car that you dont need, the last thing you want is a random CD or can of Red Bull flying around while your pushing on. Check your brakes etc before you go, makesure the car is up to a whole day of driving hard. Went to Beddord once and a guy with a 350 showed up, did a few laps and moaned that his brakes were crap. He had no pad material left on the front, and he didnt bother doing anymore laps. What a waste of money and time. The Z is a heavy car, so bank on changing the pads after the event if they are below half way. Though you could always upgrade them now, and then get them bedded in before the track day. -
I think i pulled all the heatshields off last year, as one of them was rattlng and hanging off.

The strange thing is, is that the the noise only seems to happen when im in gear, iv been unable to replicate the noise with the car stationary. Wondering if its something inside the gearbox, but then its not happening all the time. Could it be related to a slightly sticky clutch pedal at the bottom of the travel?
-
No, my cat has not left me. lol When driving with low RPM, like 2k , i seem to get a really annoying rattle type noise, which then disappears in the midrange, then returns higher up the rev range. Sounds like its coming from the Y pipe ish area, and is outside the car. Sounds like a spring or something rattling. It only seems to happen when at full throttle, and sometimes I dont get it at all. Iv had the clutch and fly wheel changed recently, running a Scorpion mid section and back box. My cats are standard, and the Y pipe looks like its probably on its last legs. Car on 69k. I know these things are hard to diagnose, and hard to identify. Just wondered if anyone had had something similar, or could suggest something.

I think as long as you carry the line around the car, then it will look good. The black on silver will look ace, but do think some spats or something at the back just to finish it all off.

I went through a tough time a few years back for various reasons. My partner started to see a life coach, and I went to a few sessions, and have to say that it really helped me out, and focussed my mind on what I had, what id achieved, and what I had to look forward to. Its a sort of counciling, but focusses on looking forward not back. I also had a couple of very good friends that helped me out, with a couple of choices i had to make. Life isnt always easy, and although im 30, iv learnt that the things worth having, are the things that matter. Focus on solving one problem at a time, and that way, you will soon change your life for the better. Though you have to remember, it is only you that can change your life, nobody else. We all have good days and bad days, but its the good days that always make the bad days seem more tollerable, no matter how few and far between they are.
