Great pictures Dave. Really shows off the blue. Need to wash mine, and spend a couple of k on it! lol

Bet that thing is LOUD with the side exit exhaust! To be honest, it maybe my Essex coming out, but i like it. I think it looks like a race car.And you cant argue with the engineering behind it.

Ouch. Looking at the weave,id say it was wet laminate carbon, which is not great, especially when it comes to repairing and impact damage. To be honest, it looks pretty done for. You could try to flat it out lightly and polish it, but i dont think, and from past experience, that there is much resin infront of the fibres to flat out. By breaking the fibres, there is noting really you can do. You could put a patch over it, but then it would probably look worse than what you have. Really sorry to say.

Thanks for the kind words from people. If you send me a couple of pictures, il be able to give you the best course of action. Depending on the type of carbon, you maybe able to flat and polish it out, if its what we call pre preg carbon. But you maybe able to hide it. Where abouts do you live? Im based in Milton Keynes, so if your anywhere near, then il happily take a look at it. Failing that, get some pictures over to me, and il help out the best I can. Tried sending this as a PM, but it says you cant receive any more, so maybe check your inbox.

Looking forward to this year, last year of the V8's too. Its going to be a tough season season, probably even closer than 2012. Lots of new designs going on,but keeping an eye on 2014 too. Cant wait for it, bring it on!

When I first fitted my Typhoon, I had an issue with the wiring loom chaffing against the base of the metal box the cone filter sits in. In the end found the problem and took some material off the box in that area, and protected the loom in other ways too. Sounds pretty awesome, and havnt noticed any other issues. However, must say that the car was bought by me with the JW pop charger, so never had the standard airbox fitted.

Almost cried when the NSX went bang! What a shame. Some stupid RR facilities though like the 2 normal pedestal fans sat 10 feet away from the car, what the hell is that going to do?

Sounds pretty cool, but WTF is an NAS drive?

Here she is. Brilliant bit of kit, sounds fab, and looks cool and understated. Very easy to set up too, took 5 minutes.

Had a similar issue up till last week, when i got a B+W A5 Airplay speaker to go in my kitchen. I currently stream music from either my phone or the Mac laptop to my hifi in the living room. I do this via Apple TV, which is a great bit of kit. I also have Airport Express which im not using yet, but do intend to at some point. I looked at he Sonus kit and its very good. However, if you already wirelessly stream your music via Wifi, then you need another bit of kit called the Sonus Connect. Turned out to be very expensive, so in the end opted for the A5, as I know B+W kit is very well built, sounds great, and is stylish to look at. The Sonus stuff is very good if you are starting from scratch, but if you just want to extend the music to a different room, then its more complicated and more expensive.

Why has the guy not got any pictures of it off the car after he has fitted it? Like in his garage or something, dont understand why he only has 1 picture, and its when the part was in the body shop. Smells abit fishy to me.

I do indeed live in Milton Keynes. The system in my house is what the boiler called a "perfect" system,iv got a boiler and a tank, but not a traditional immersion tank. Dont know the proper name. Was quoted for a W Bosch boiler £1400. House is a detached 4 bed. At work at the moment, so cant get any more info.

Our boiler started to leak water a few months back, so had a look myself and wasnt happy to find that its obviously been leaking for some time, as there were large rust patches on the metal base of the boiler. Didnt know if there were any Gas Safe heating and gas engineers on here that would be willing to give me a quote on a new boiler. Already had one engineer out to look at it, and he confirmed that its needs replacing. Also, most of our neighbours have had theirs replaced in the past year. Looking to get it done by the end of the month.

Hello fellow Essex person! I live in Milton Keynes now,and over the road from where I live is a place called Atomic Wheels and tyres. Its an hour from where you are. Taken my Zed there a couple of times for various bits, including laser alignment, and cant fault them. They have the latest Hunter equipment and know how to use it. Just off junction 14 of the M1. Very knowledgable guys, (and a hot receptionist), and although they are not specialists in Zeds, they know their stuff, and always very friendly. Maybe abit closer to you than Abbey.

A good friend of mine recently sold his E92 M3,he had Lemans Blue with black 19" wheels, looked as mean as a MOFO. They are very expensive to run. Dont think of it as a 3 series, think of it as a proper sports car with a BMW badge. My friend had a few issues with his, fuel pump relay or something, which apparently is pretty common, front seat wouldnt lean forward and a couple of other niggles, which seemed stupid on a 50k or what ever car. He had a Zed before that for 3 years and didnt have a single issue. He sold the M3 because it was too expensive to run, he owned it for about 2 years. Things like brakes are expensive if you go OEM, to be honest you would be better off buying an BB conversion for the cost of replacing the discs and pads for OEM. They sound great, but like he ZED the standard exhaust is very quiet. Most of the time its a 3 series BMW, and it needs alot of revs to get it going, then your talking stupid MPG.

Was going to say, Horsham is a good shout, less than an hour from me when i lived in Brackley. Good guys and very knowledgeable

Whats the biggest "thing" you've ever had in your 350 :)
Daryl replied to calibre's topic in 350Z General
Managed to get a whole weekends worth of stuff for 2 down to Lemans and back. That was snug -
Also,at what point do the shims need replacing?
-
Changed my front pads yesterday, which iv done a couple of times. The old pads were pretty hammered, actually they were crumbling at the edge. Did the drivers side first, and noticed the anti squeal shim was starting to delaminate, however the passenger side was worse, and I also noticed the rubber covers/bellows were no longer stuck into the caliper, they had popped out. Im guessing because the pad was so worn. Iv pushed them back in after blowing around the caliper to get rid of the dust. Just wondered if there were any issues caused by this,or will I be alright?

i quite like this one too. http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-pioneer-fh-p80bt_p-23301.htm Yes would like to keep the double din if possible.

It dont have to be touch screen, just decent looking. I really like the simple look of the cheaper Alpine units, just wish they had a proper rear mounted Ipod/phone connection and decent pre outs.
-
Trying really hard to find a HU that i actually like the look of,and has the features that im after. I dont like the new generation of Alpine stuff, with the buttons on the side, and all the others i can see are pretty much the same. I like things to be symmetrical, and if i was to have a rotary dial,it should be in the middle, like the cheaper Alpine stuff. But that does not have the Iphone connectivity im after, which i dont want to be front mounted. So far the only one iv seen that I like is http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pio-sphda100-pioneer-sph-da100-app-radio.html

I used to live up the top of 2 fairly steep and long hills, was gutted when I couldnt get winter tyres after ordering them in September time ish. Anyway, dreaded driving to and from work (30 miles) in my Zed with 19" wheels and tyres, but i and the car survived. Just took my time, was gentle with all the inputs, and spent many hours laying grit down the roads and clearing tracks for the neighbors. If you live in a bad area for snow or icey roads, get out there and do something about it.

I doubt it,its still the FIA.

Doing exactly the same thing with the TC turned off though resulted in nothing more than me getting better drive out of the slow corners. No lighting up the rears or anything.
