  1. Feel for you, but the story doesn't add up. You've had all these problems and you still kept going back to the same dealer?! If someone forgot to put new oil in after a service then its kind of a huge hint that your dealing with a bunch of plonkers. 7 years is a long time to own a car and although I'm shocked by the scale of issue's you've had there really is nothing you can do about it. As for the exhaust snapping and things like that, it could happen to any car - maybe you drove on some dodgy roads with potholes or something. Clutch life seems about normal as does some other things (again, if you're ragging the nuts off your zed then the components will be subject to more abuse and will break quicker). If this is your driving style, you should go for uprated parts as suggested earlier. I understand where you are coming from but asking a machine to keep itself in peak condition after 7 years is a tall order. You've got normal component wear and tear mixed in with a dodgy garage trying to fix the issues. Try driving a French or Italian car - then you'll know real issues!
  2. You could even have the bonnet sprayed white but leave the vents as CF. Example (not very good, but you get the idea): Sooo many choices...
  3. Option 4 Put a poll on the thread.

    350Z vs GTR

Just so you can see the differences in speed. I know in the real world there are so many variants, such as the driver, fuel, etc but gives a rough idea... And I guess if your mad like Nurrish and get some forced induction (no idea the power of the zed in the video):
  6. Prices don't seem too bad compared to other cars with same performance and head turning ability - around £20k - £35k according to PistonHeads. Expensive if you don't use it a lot though...
  7. Hey, Presume you're not going to be travelling with me to the show on Saturday AM then? No problem if not, just need to know what i am doing.
  8. If your 100% sure you're going to go for a matte colour, then do anything other than black. Do red or even an orange (and get black wheels) Black hides the gentle curves of the zed that the sunlight highlights (as you can see above) - it makes it look like a boring blob shape when infact it has very delicate lines (on the rear arches for example, the sun shows they flair out a bit, but no sun bouncing from it = no great shape).
  9. Fantastic car! Insurance is damn cheap?! Goodluck to him! Did he test drive an Atom or anything before choosing this or was it a random purchase? (BTW - this will make your zed feel slow after you've had a ride).

  11. I don't know what it is with matte cars, but I just dont get most of them. Only the odd murcielago. etc looks good with it IMO. However, the world would be a boring place is everyone thought the same. I think a glossy white wrap or even a purple would look the bee's knees - would certainly turn heads (for the right reasons) and isn't something I've ever seen done in the UK
  12. Sorry....this club is full, can't accept any more members (Only joking!) Welcome on board!
  13. Its good to see you coming back and posting what your new car feels like in comparison. Usually gets posts the other way (coming from old car to a zed). Hope you still have mucho fun driving.
  14. Steering wheel was a factory option for JDMs, but is pretty rare - don't think you can get them now. Knee pads are really helpful actually - they hold you in a little more. Again, factory fitted option from Japan
  15. Drove a F430, Murcielago and Turbo one after the other on track. The turbo was the better car. Doesn't have the looks and attention the others get but its spot on driving perfection. Lovely colour of your's too. Can I ask why you went for the turbo and not a GT3?
  16. Thank you. Everyone goes on about my wheels! lol Nothing saying "nice colour" or "nice exhaust" or whatever - its always "ahhh sweet! awesome wheels!"
  17. Nothing special (photo wise) this time folks but I know you all like looking at pictures. I've uprated the brakes since this was taken a few weeks back, but those of you going to Japfest will get to see my azure at the show - oh and at Wales. You'll also notice I have a very rare JDM factory fitted Momo steering wheel. I know the RSW kit is a marmite thing, but I like it (and marmite if you're wondering) - breaks up the dull plastic interior and seems to go well with my black, blue and slightly silver theme. Also not forgetting my brand new private plate (obviously only showing part of it)...
  18. Where to start... > Maintenance is cheaper than those brands because they share components with other Nissans - and they are solid > You'll be FAR rarer sight on the street (you may even turn a few heads) > Plenty of modifications to tailor your zed if thats your thing. Still looks good without mods and won't age badly > Prices have bottomed out now so you won't have any massive losses when you re-sell. > Pretty much every magazine review between 350z and TT states that the TT is a big let down and the zed is for pure driving fun > We don't tend to have any personal associations with the car. Maybe a few cheap tacky zeds lower the image (i.e. chavvy) but overall we aren't like BMWs and Audi drivers (being labeled %^&*'s) - even if your not one. > Your friends are like sheep and are probably going by the badge and have never even driven a zed. It's a hidden treasure and we like it that way - badge snobs can stick with their beamers and TTs. I know which one is faster, turns more heads and is way more fun. > Join this club - there is not a motor club in the UK like it. People really do help eachother out.
  19. I don't think Nixy has realised that there is an invisible zed next to hers. Last model special edition... I can see it but it could be because I am a bloke.
  20. Unfortunately my Volks are like my limbs - I need them
  21. Took a trip to CS at the weekend to get a P2 service and brand new DBA Brakes. Never been before and from the comments here, everyone seemed happy with them so thought I'd give them a go. So, what can I say... simple; AMAZING service! As soon as I parked up Mitz came out, introduced himself and they clearly know what they are doing and how to look after their customers and cars (Nissan - take note!). They already had a couple of zeds and other jap cars floating about the workshop so a sigh of relief was made when I got there. Got a coffee hand made by Mitz (thank you) and had my new brake set up laid out in boxes to have a look at as soon as I got there. Had a wander around the workshop and had a chin wag, whilst they cracked on with the work. Both Andy and Mitz know exactly what they are doing and even though they had probably done hundreds of brake changes before they still took time to make sure everything was spot on (unlike places like KwikFit - drive in, bish bash bosh, come out, next please). Prices were very reasonable and they don't take the mick. They know it is your pride and joy and appreciate a good motor that drives in. These guys work hard (unlike most places filled with robotic workers) and they would rather see 1 car in and have a good job on it than get through 3/4 quickly and risk mucking up. All I can say is that my brakes are awesome and the service was simply perfect. Even the workshop feels like a proper petrolhead place to be. If you're like me and fed up of taking your zed back to get the garage to do the job right first time and you just want the job done straight away by guys who not only know what they are doing but are enthusiastic with what they do then definitely go speak to CS. You've tried the rest, now try the best. Mitz & Andy - Thank you.
  22. I've sold my BBS alloys and have arranged collection for tomorrow morning. Plonked all the details in, wrapped them up as required and got the ref number from the UPS site to confirm. The only thing is; I haven't put any payment details into the site since nothing was requested from me. I just set "Payment by card" and nothing mentioned putting my card details into the site (strange?!) Any who... I phoned up UPS customer services just now to speak to a foreigner and all I asked was "can I pay now. I have a ref number" and she proceeded to try and rebook everything (god knows why) and then stated even more cash was required than my official UPS receipt I printed out for collection! No matter how many times I kept saying "No...nothing has changed, I have already arranged collection how do I pay" this plonker insisted that the price has gone up, bla bla bla (just checked now using my ref ID and its remained the same). Does anyone know how I pay UPS? I won't be there to hand over to the delivery chap and the person at home won't have any way of paying the delivery guy. I'm sure people have done this themselves before. Why are they making a simple task so complex?!
