  2. * What you lot also don't realise is if the chaps with older cars start reducing their prices quickly it'll effect those with newer cars as well (you'll be forced to justify the huge price difference for a slightly newer zed). Everyone's price would come down together and you'll end up with a bunch of barry boys affording them, putting ironing boards on the back with mirrored lights! No one wants this...no one.
  3. I think you have priced fairly tbh. You've cared for that car like a baby and it has very good quality mods on it that have cost a fortune. For a true petrolhead (new owner) this would seem an ideal buy as it has nothing to hide - it'll be a safe buy in the long run. It's very easy for people to say "its over priced" but unless you see it in the flesh next to a standard car you won't appreciate why it costs more. The cost of zeds have hit its low for a good while yet - the price of them can't keep consistently coming down in value otherwise it'll be worth the same as a 2nd hand old model fiesta that a 17 year old drives (and that's just plain wrong). Sure we'd all love a car with all the goodies on it for £8k-9k, but we live in the real world and unless you get a very desperate seller it's a case of tough luck (you just won't get it for that cheap price). Yes, you can get a younger standard model but I doubt it'll be in as good quality as this one (it'll probably be owned by a general car user rather than enthusiast that has loved it). Think of it like a Ferrari - you could pick one up for £50k but chances are it'll have knocks, loads of owners, a few hidden things wrong with it, etc, etc. Whereas if you fork out a bit more you'll get one that has no doubt been loved and cherished by an enthusiast. It's no different for any sports car... GLWTS...
  4. You only live once and so long as you live within your means then what is the problem? At the end of the day life isn't about money - its for enjoying yourself. Use it as a weekend car - you obviously love it and can afford it. Buy a run around and you can park it anywhere you want. You may regret it in the future when your stuck in a family saloon with kids in he back thinking "why oh why didn't I enjoy that sports car when I had it?"
  5. watshot has the lowest average mileage (1k a year!) and karl922 is the highest (17k+) a year. Friddela has the highest mileage so far (101k) and watshot has the lowest (3k). Blingaling

Shockingly good looking. Just need a carbon front splitter (to make it more sporty) and it'll look transformed.

Olive oil for me, silkolene pro s for the car
  8. ^^^ This is where I got mine from and had no problems (perfectly legal).
  9. NismoDave (the guy that had my zed before me) moved on to an Evo FQ320. He said the Evo would never beat the zed in the looks department but its a step up in terms of performance and is happy with his choice. Apparently economically its about the same if nothing much has been done to it performance wise.
  10. This is the number 1 thing people always do when looking to buy a new car - look at the mileage, age and then price. The priority should be: 1) quality 2) price 3) milleage then age Would you rather: A ) a zed 2 years younger yet has dings, scratches and been abused most of its life but you get it cheaper B ) Older car, perfect body work, looked after well during its life? Your answer should be B. In the end you'll love it more because you don't have to keep sorting out those niggles. You should be looking at what YOU are happy to pay rather than comparing the hundreds of offers out there. Hold out - a lot of members waited a few months before getting their zed (hence why you see so many stunning examples). It's a patience game I'm afraid, however if you see the perfect one along the way why wait - go for it.
  11. If the quality of the car is good then I'd say it was around the expected price. You could probably knock £500 off and get 6 months tax in there as well if it has none. Maybe some new mats if it needs them. It's defo worth a look.
  12. You work in marketing and your under a family business - you could be sitting on your answer. Could you not give it your all and start drumming up some serious interest for your family business with your marketing skills? Especially since your family business is in a hobby of yours (cars)! If my family had a solid yet small car business I'd be trying to drum up trade left, right and centre trying to get bigger and better. Especially after knowing that customer service is often number 1 priority for most customers. This is how you become a millionaire entrepreneur - though its not as easy as it sounds. Seriously, you could be looking away from a place your standing on that could offer you a lot in return. Plus your family wins as well - have you spoken to your parents about it? If things didn't go to plan on a grand scale and you worked hard, when you go to a bigger employer and said you managed to return £££ profit for family business due to your marketing skills a lot of people would be impressed (supply examples of your work too). It'll take a LOT of hard work, but at the end of the day you reap most of the rewards unlike when your in a bigger company. It could take years, but who knows...in 5+ years you could be driving the latest Ferrari / Lambo into your mansion. Just a thought...
  13. You can change just the pads and use the old discs if they're still good (obviously). Just depends how used the discs are. Any pics?
  14. I did yes - thanks to Mitz and Andy at CS (life savers). It was a little worrying at times trying to drive it back from Wales without changing gears too often and then drive back up to Leceister to get it fixed. The zed is now back up and running - nothing wrong with it at all.
  15. First of all I just wanted to publicly say THANK YOU to MadMarky. My clutch started going during the 1st day of Wales and I was gutted (had to leave you guys half way through). MadMarky stepped up and said I am not allowed to go home as there was even better to come on the next day, so having to leave my zed behind all alone at the hotel car park I hitched a ride in Marks amazing orange veilside. He's a top guy and really knowledgeable about not only zeds but cars in general. All was not lost - being a passenger I was able to take hundreds of pics (seemed to be better as a passenger believe it or not because you can take your eye off the road). What's it like in Marks beast? Awesome. Just awesome. You've done yourself proud - it turns everyones heads whether they like it or not. Driving home from Wales in 5th gear most of the way trying not to change gear is er..interesting. I put the car into my garage, zipped off the Mexico, came back & contacted Mitz (CS) and he thankfully arranged for a new clutch and flywheel. Again - top notch service (again) without a single complaint. And last but not least - thank you Mods. The Wales trip was brilliant - just a shame my personal circumstances mucked things up for me. These guys put some serious effort into organising this stuff for pretty much total strangers and for no reward other than hanging out with fellow zed nuts. My life has been extremely hectic since Wales - some highs and lows and have been rushed off my feet since (hence no posts). Darren.
