LouisS started following Engine management since changing Valve covers
-
Hi all, some context: I bought my first 350z at the end of August this year and when changing the spark plugs shortly after, I noticed that there was oil around a couple of the the spark plugs so went ahead and purchased two new OEM valve covers (or rocker covers which ever it is). I’ve since completed that and happy that the oil is now flowing within the engine not out however, today when I finally got it back out the garage, I was met by an engine management light and the car in limp mode. I put a code reader on it and get P1233 and C1131 codes. I tried clearing them and trying again but no joy, they come back after about a minute. i noticed the engine seems to be struggling to idle and eventually bogs down and the light comes on. I’ve check connections to things such as throttle bodies, cam sensors, intakes, coils packs etc but no joy. Does anyone have any ideas of possible areas to check or maybe someone can point me to a recommended garage/350z specialist in the Lincolnshire/Nottinghamshire area?

Hello all 🫡 Super exited to finally be a part of this community as a very long time lurker. Finally got my dream car, a 2004 Sunset Orange 350z. This is also the car featured on the 'Road and Race' youtube channel as an added bonus so it has a couple bits done to it, and im exited to document the rest of the cars journey. Thankyou all for the huge amount of information on this forum. Please see below my new (to me) car 😁

Ok, I'll offer this as a slight contrast to the last post. Needs work is all I'll say and perhaps a little tidy 🙂. If it's ever finished a might even get the Z in there.

Camber bolts were seized on the spring rear buckets. A bit of blowtorch (and a brief scare of melting the wiring near the diff bush) I managed to get them off and wire brush them clean and refit them all loosey goosey.

Pleasure dealing with you, sir! As always ❤️ Send some fitted pics when you can and we'll get them shared on the socials.

Thats my rainy weekend job sorted - Nismo mk1 full carbon wing from Torqen. The quality of the carbon is gorgeous and well worth the wait. Now I've just got to make my mind up between airlift v coilovers with air cups...

Welcome! Can't say I've seen your Z knocking about around the Manchester area. I'll keep my eyes open😎. -
So I guess garage envy is a thing 😆 Years ago now I worked as a designer for a company that did garage fit-outs. Stuff like: wall storage, PVC tile flooring & ceiling, tool cabinets, lighting etc would easily fetch for £20k+. They looked great, but I could never justify spending THAT much on a garage. Found some renders & couple of install photos

Hello and welcome! Noticed you said next on your list was some carbon fenders... Could we tempt you with some TORQEN CFGT Fenders? Literally just received a sea shipment from our factory yesterday and we have a spare set on there, meaning they're in stock and ready to ship with no lead time attached. Would also be happy to give you our 10% off which we'll be doing on TORQEN products for Black Friday early https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/body-styling/exterior/117734-350z-torqen-cfgt-front-fenders.html?search_query=CFGT+350z&results=1#/_material-carbon Let us know if there's any questions. -

Hello everyone, I’ve been driving my 350Z for quite a while now, but I’ve just realised I never actually introduced myself here in the introduction section! You can actually find my car thread over in the Wanted section — I bought the car thanks to this very forum. It’s a 2006 RevUp model, and when I bought it, it had around 73,000 miles on the clock. Two years later, it’s now sitting at roughly 79,000 miles. I wanted to share a bit about what’s been done to the car — both what it already had when I bought it and the modifications I’ve added since. When I bought it, the car already had: Japan Racing JR5 Wheels ISR Catback Single Exit Exhaust ARC Air Intake System Nismo Style Front Lip After driving it in this setup for quite some time, I decided to start making the updates I’d always dreamed of. There’s a long list in my head, but I’ll just share what I’ve done so far. It’s a bit of a story, so here goes… When I first got the car, it already had a Nismo-style front lip. Personally, I didn’t love the look with just the front lip — it felt incomplete. So the first thing I did was order a set of side skirts from Tarmac Sportz and had them fitted. In my opinion, the car’s stance completely changed — it looked so much more balanced. Without the skirts, it really did look too plain. Of course, with the new side skirts and front lip, the rear end started to look a bit empty. I’ve always loved the 380RS body kit, so after a lot of searching, I ordered a Nismo V3-style spoiler, again from Tarmac Sportz. Once fitted, it looked great — but it made me realise the rear spats needed updating too. So I went back to Tarmac Sportz and ordered a set of Nismo N1-style rear spats, which really tied everything together in terms of the body kit. For now, that was the exterior just how I wanted it. After another good stretch of driving, I started to feel that the car’s sound wasn’t quite doing it for me anymore. It still had the stock catalytic converters, so it was time for a decat. After some research, I decided to go for Berk Technology decats, which I thought would pair nicely with my ISR Single Exit exhaust. Once fitted — that raspy, aggressive tone was exactly what I’d been looking for. I’ve never been a fan of the DE bonnet design, so I thought I’d upgrade to an HR bonnet. One thing led to another, and during the Black Friday sales I found myself ordering a Seibon carbon HR-style bonnet — couldn’t resist the deal! That’s everything I’ve done so far, but I’ve got a long list of future plans. Next up, I’m looking at getting carbon front fenders, because I just can’t resist a bit of carbon. Once again, hi to everyone — I’ve attended a few meets already, and I’m looking forward to many more! You can see the car’s first look and its current setup in the photos. If you’d like to see the car’s progress, you can follow @beko.z33 on Instagram.

Your garage is badass bro!

@DoogyRev Nice big space there. You need some Mustang merch to make the most of it whilst you've got it! @Keith D Quality looking set of tools there bud! @Stutopia Decent space mate, nice and tidy too. 😎

Yeah this has cost me just over £900 for 5.2m x 4.8m. They do unbranded alternatives on eBay of what is probably the same stuff, but maybe for 70% of the cost. What swung it for me ultimately though is i've been planning to epoxy my floor for the last 5 years and i'm just never going to get round to it... so paying slightly more for something that i could implement in just a few hours was worth it to me. What do i think of it... it's not as sturdy as i thought it'd be... there's a slight clicky noise when you walk on it. Impressed at how clean it seems to stay though, with all the dirt just falling through the gaps!
-
What did you think of the flooring? I've been googling all different kinds only thing thats put me off is pricing. I'm looking somewhere between 800 to a grand for slightly bigger then normal single garage which seems steep to me. Can I ask what yours cost?

Don't feel bad, I have way too much crap in my garage.... apart from the big fighter jet grey thing in the middle (although I do love my 2 stage impeller snow blower and my 2 jet washers) 🤣 13 years ago when we moved here I did not even own a single screwdriver ..... time flies.... so does the accrual of things 😂 Soon be time to wrap the stang for the winter ....... booooooooooooooo
