    GK Tech

Just got round to kicking up my GK Tech lock kit and came across a few concerns. V3 lock kit Rack spacers Inner tie rods. It would appear that I have considerable lock improvements so that is great. I took my time trimming the inner rods to get maximum engagement, probably cut them 3 times each until I am reasonably happy. Now the issues, on full lock the 'heim' joint is now the bump stop as it contacts the lower shock bolt. I have removed the OEM bump stops but I think with a small trim it would probably be wise to reinstall these. On the opposite side the Hel brake line comes quite close to contacting the shock due to the enormous 90 degree fitting they came with. I also noticed that the spacers aren't being utilised at full lock as the joint/bolt interference stops the rack moving any further. Anybody have any experience with this kit? My suspicion is that I need the lower arms to utilise all the other mods which I'm a bit upset about as I've already spent too much!

  4. Ok🤣 remember Captain and Pimm's are they still around on here?
  5. It's not. That was an R34. Since then I've had 2 R33 GTR 's and now onto a 32
  6. I can remember you importing it year's ago, that's if it's the same car
  7. 👋I still kick around now and again. Zedless for a while now but building an R32 GTR from the ground up currently.
  8. May be worth checking coils and plugs, coils tend to start playing up around 80,000 miles. Cured my issue. I used these from euro car parts... https://www.eurocarparts.com/ignition-coil?brand.brandName.en-GB[0]=Starline and Denso plugs.

  10. I remember ordering my SF Volks Challenge wheels directly from Japan...................felt so exciting, LOVED them when they came eventually!! Do people still buy Nismo Zorsts?? Them and the Nismo wheels were so desirable.....
  11. Welcome back to the fold Sarnie! Quite a few of us oldies lurking around. Remember you going doen the Mclaren route 😀
  12. New, never been fitted 370Z side diffusers as supplied by Tarmac Sportz. Upon receipt of these I had them professionally sprayed, there's nothing wrong with them as supplied by TS, I just wanted to enhance the finish. Yes, that's a pic of my car on the TS website. Due to the size of these I'd prefer collection, or if agreed I can travel to meet the buyer, asking for £90.

  14. Remind me of Storm Horse? AAAAAAAHHHHH Just remembered!! The woman draped over the bonnet of a Zed 🤣
  15. At least you got Marky looking after you guys.
  16. Yep Might have to move somewhere else if Big Don gets his way 🤣
  17. I am surprised no one has mentioned Storm Horse yet
  18. @Sarnie Welcome back, I am still hanging around, been in Vancouver for the last 13 years 😱
  19. Okay, here with more updates. Antenna: Replaced! I got one from Temu, it didn’t fit quite right, had a bit of a gap between the base and the antenna. So, I added a rubber washer in between and voila! looks spot on. Also painted the base using... wait for it... nail polish! Worked like a charm. So yeah, antenna is now sorted. Underbody rust-proofing: Took the car to a local body shop for this. Left it there and headed home. Later, the guy rang me up and said the underbody looked factory fresh, nothing needed doing at all. So, unexpectedly, this one’s off the list too. Head unit: It just... started working again. I’ve only been ejecting and loading CDs now and then, and somehow it fixed itself. No clue what the issue was, but I’ll take the win, no need to replace it anymore! A-pillar finisher: This one still stings a bit. Took it to a body shop and they fixed it perfectly. I asked them not to fit it yet since I wanted to change the weather strips myself. All done there, but when it came time to reinstall the pillar, it snapped in half right at the old crack. Brutal. The guy welded it again, but I didn’t want to risk it cracking again near the clip area. So... I bit the bullet and ordered a brand new one from Amayama. While I was at it, also picked up a new door seal (old one was a bit tired), new emblems for front and rear, and a rear wiper arm cover. The pillar alone cost me just over £350 including shipping, tax, and duty... for a plastic trim piece. Still hurts. But everything’s now installed by yours truly and it looks great! Other things are still on hold. I recently bought a polishing machine, along with cutting compound and polish and other bits and bobs, planning to try compounding and polishing the car myself. Fingers crossed I don’t mess it up So, all in all, here’s what I’ve done so far: Major service at Nissan New tyres (Michelin Pilot Sport 5) Front bumper resprayed Headlights cleaned and restored Dashcam installed (Viofo A229 Plus, hardwired) Antenna replaced and base refinished Underbody inspected – no rust, all clear Head unit started working again (still counts!) A-pillar finisher replaced Door seal replaced Rear wiper arm cover replaced New emblems bought – just need to fit them ALMOST FORGOT! Installed oem spoiler That’s it for now. Slowly but surely, the car’s getting to where I want it. As always, open to advice if anyone has tips for polishing or detailing, this’ll be my first go at it.
  20. I got deported unfortunately, immediately after Brexit.
  21. Hi Ben, Thanks for this, I'm hopefully getting my exhaust on soon and next step was going to be a remap so hopefully sorts this issue as well, looks like RS Tuning offer the uprev software maps. Nice colour on the motor btw. Cheers for the reply as well.
  22. Yeah, that would be Adrian, trading as Torqen.
  23. You make some solid points about Nissan's missed opportunities - they really should have capitalized on their early EV lead with the Leaf instead of letting Chinese companies eat their lunch. It's wild how Xiaomi went from phones to selling 300k cars in basically no time, while legacy automakers are still figuring things out. The sports car segment is definitely tough right now, but Toyota's showing it can still work if you price things right and keep the enthusiast community engaged. Nissan's problem seems to be they're stuck in the middle - not fully committed to EVs like Tesla or BYD, but also not doubling down on ICE performance like some others. The new CEO has a massive job ahead trying to turn things around, especially with their market share bleeding to Chinese brands. You're probably right that we'll see more compact EVs from them, but they need something distinctive to stand out in an increasingly crowded market. At this point they need to pick a lane and execute really well, because half-measures aren't cutting it anymore.
  24. The guy that came in and started selling stuff? What happened to Chris down south? And was it Bob? What about Lomas? With the Sunset Zed I think?
  25. Hi Sarnie, as you know I've seen you on PH ... and I still monitor here now and again.
