350z specialists? (Car sales)

Ok so I'm looking to buy myself a zed, have been for a while.

I was hoping to go down the private sales route and pay full in cash to which I was looking to spend around 5k give or take. Since getting close to my total the inevitable has happened and I've had to fork out sizeable chunk on (let's just say less enjoyable things)

I'm now turning to paying part cash part finance on a traders car. my maximum is pretty much 7k now, obviously I don't want to have to spend it all if I don't have to.

I've been looking on tradelinks website and can't find anything that either matches the bill or criteria, does anyone know of any others near them or on the net to point me in the direction of?

My criteria:

Must be a coupe

Prefer black / Gunmetal

Prefer UK

Finance companies say it must be:

2005 or younger

Under 100k miles

(Don't know if that's all of them but that's what I've been told by who I've spoken to)

Thanks for reading

I have looked through most of the usual places I can think of (autotrader, ebay, gumtree) and it seems to be that if I want a roadster or or a cat d coupe (neither appeal to me in the slightest) then there's a fair choice.

Only managed to find 2 coupes on my searches both were completly standard, close to 100k miles and nothing special.

Did you edit a bit out about having bad credit?

My car is on finance, and that's 11 years old so I know that some companies will do it on older cars. Can you not just go to your bank and get a loan for the rest? That would let you buy privately then too.

The bank need a clean sheet for the last 6 months to give a loan out. Just got married so the account took a battering to say the least, had to sell the car for last minute "wife so called essentials" lol

Unfortunately loans are a no go for a while, I would much prefer that approach it's just not an option for a few months at very least

I'm sure there's a trader out there that has something that fits the bill, just started this thread to see if anyone knows of any maybe local to them that they have seen in a window or local trader adverts really.

7k for a 2005 350z sounds like more than a fair price to pay in my eyes

If the wife has a habit of calling in the essentials - a 350z may not be the car for you as its not the cheapest to run and does need a bit of TLC to keep it in tip top condition . If Zeditus takes control you may end up forking out more than you paid for it in the first place !

Just as a note, I paid £8k for my '07 GT (friend of a friend deal) and I have seen an 06 for £7k (eBay). Obviously condition, mileage and preferences have to be taken into account, but depending on where you're looking (and just plain luck) there are some good buys out there.

Surely that would never happen???

Spend more on mods than you paid for a car :scare:

Just doesn't sound plausible

:innocent:

The essentials were for our wedding so couldn't really say no. Been down the road of modifying performance cars and well bitten by the bug. Have an r33, mr2 tubby, 2 wrx, s2000, 2 ep3 civics under my belt. So not really on a maintainance or modifying budget just can't really do without a car for another 3+ months while I pull together other funds to buy privately

So you have £7K cash?

No, I have 2k cash and willing to do upto 5k finance over 2 years

Right, gotcha

If you've less than perfect credit history, you're going to find the same issue with finance as you would with a bank loan as they all work the same way, so I don't think that's really going to help you bud :( Unless you've spoken to some specifically, that have already given you the go ahead based on your finances and that's why you've got the car specifics.

Speak to Close Brothers Finance, they did mine on the BMW so will definitely take cars over 10 years if that helps :)

Most finance companies will lend you the money for any car, be it 2 or 20 years old, but these "bad credit" companies place stupid stipulations on the car.

A couple of years ago my credit rating was less than perfect when I found a great deal on a very low mileage GT3 kitted 996. The only companies I could find to offer me the money for a car had ridiculous limits on age, mileage, engine size and number of cylinders.
