Induction kits are they worth it?

Guys looking at fitting a typhoon K&N are these good? Is there anything else people can say are better

Purely for noise and looks.

They offer no performance gains at all, and many infact suffer from heat soak.

One of my first mods along with a back box.

As Lexx said not a lot to be gained especially if you don't get the car upreved.

I have to say the induction roar on the K and N is really good!!

Definitely put the money towards an exhaust system instead imo.

 

It will sound a lot better & also actually give you a decent gain over OEM if you do get an UpRev done one day.

Jimmy, depends what and how much sound you're after, oh and of course budget too as systems start from £400 through to over £1000.00, you can have a cat back system or just middle and rear too, let us know your requirements and I'll put some options your way...

Ok great I'm looking for a little more noise than the OEM and also get rid of the annoying rasp budget I hadn't really thought but I want it to be right if you know what I mean send me some details over on what you think

Oooh I like this game.

• Cobra for lower budget ~ great looks and by all accounts a lovely sound.
  
• Magnaflow/Buddy Club for middle range ~ know very little about these.
  
• Milltek/Invidia Gemini for upper range ~ Invidia Gemini is a true dual system, fantastic quality & amazing sound. I have one of those so am slightly biased.
  
• Ark/Motordyne/Borla or Stillen in the money to burn range ~ amazing systems with orgasmic sound.
  

 

Cs will sort you out I'm sure.

I bought Berks HFC's and the Invidia Gemini exhaust system for mine at first, ...spent ages just driving around with the window down listening to the sound.

 

You'd never have the roof up again.

Ive got the Ark system, its a lot of money but looks amazing, and the sound ......the only negative effect is your mpg, but who gives a damn

Iv got a Typhoon on my DE and just had the car Uprev

 

Inlet temp went up and up on each run and it was losing BHP over the stock set up .

 

Saying that the noise is worth every - BHP loss IMO

 

And it does look rather good
