GUNS is under new ownership....

Guys you are coming up with some great cars, but you are missing 3 of my essentials that I put down in my first post.

But for some time I have come to realise that life moves on and with 2 grandchildren and many friends that June & I wish to share more time with 4 seats; 5 doors and some good grunt under the bonnet is a must.

And another one who found that a bit of a surprise!

But now comes the 'best' bit of getting another car - the 'what car' decision itself... Then the slightly less good bit, actually trying to buy one!

I miss mine, but then I do see it anything up to 5 times a day! And hear it rumbling past... and of course have something for the weekend tucked way!

5 doors.... so you want a hatchback? not a saloon

tell me you are sticking with petrol or should i look at oil burners too?

That comes as a surpise, but if your needs have changed then it had to be done.

Ford Focus ST perhaps on the lower end of the budget, or the new Subaru WRX STI.

Lower end of your budget but I recently purchased a new NISMO JUKE. Great car and so much fun, quick as well.

Sorry to see the ownership of GUNS has come to an end Colin but your reasoning is fully understandable.

Hope to see you again in the near future.

Martin

1 series is 2 door ;)

I guess we really need to know if an oil burner is a consideration.

Sticking with Vauxhalls, the Insignia VXR would be a good Q-car: 2.8L blown V6, 4WD, available as a hatch or even better the estate, 320bhp. Yeah, that's be a laugh.

I do rather like those, odd as when they first came out they really didnt appeal, but its growing on me and a lot of car for the money

Will @ BMW 1 series: Same thing was said about the 370's but I know many, including me, who warmed to its looks and bought one and a few subtle tweaks.....

Have looked into the 3 star A series AMG 4matic, but specced up to what I would want takes it well over £40k and from what I hear about servicing/parts costs...... :scare:
