Zeezeebaba Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Well my Z came with a new set of Avon zz3 tyres fitted. My plan was to change them next month for something else. However I've been very impressed with them in this awful wet weather so the money is going on other mods instead . 1 Quote
longsh07 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Not had ZZ3's on my zed by my MX5 came with a full set before I got my new alloys and must say I was impressed too! Especially as the rears were on the legal limit and they were still very gripy even in the wet. Quote
GMballistic Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I had ZZ3's on my old Civic Type R ~ worked well enough and a good value tyre imo. Quote
Ridz Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 When I got my Zed almost 2 years ago, it had the OEM Bridgestones on the front and new Avon ZZ3's on the rear. Usual problems with the electronics intervening under progressive driving! Changed the Bridgestones last year when they were at the legal limit, for Avons. Now have ZZ3's all round and it has markedly improved the handling with no electronic intervention at all! I have found the Avons to be a good tyre, but I believe that that ZZ3 has now been discontinued. Quote
coldel Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Always saw this range get good reviews for the price... Quote
Desey Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I had avons on my old fiesta ST and thought they were a lot better than the P Zeros that replaced them Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 I had p - zero on my focus ST, I concur they were pretty bad. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 They worked well on the front of my xkr and complimented the falken on the rear Quote
NeilMH Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Always been a fan of Avons.....summer and wet use was very good. I wasn't quite so sure in cold weather but that might just be the effect of very low temperatures on that particular compound or my imagination. Quote
