Three weeks ago I picked up my 350Z GT4 in Ultra Yellow and since then I've loved driving it and glad I finally got one after considering getting one a few times over the past few years. Anyway it was totally stock when I picked it up and Its now totally transformed, Im a mechanic by trade and I can turn my hand to spraying when needed as we have a spray shop at my work as well as the fully kitted out garage workshop both of which I have access to any time I need outside working hours which comes in very handy. So here's a list of all the work I've carried over the past 3 weeks along with what it's cost me in order of being done: £0.00 -Machine polish whole car with G3 compound on a medium foam head and sealed with a good Wax £13.75 -Swapped out the stock Xenon bulbs for 8000k ones £9.89 -LED side light bulbs fitted £4.74 -LED number plate bulbs fitted £0.00 -Removed centre resonator and replaced it with straight pipe same diameter £4.67 -Replaced the stock aerial with a stubby one £36.88 -1/2ltr of Ultra Yellow base and top coat £97.98 -Sprayed and fitted a Nismo style front lip £60.00 -Sprayed and fitted rear spats £36.00 -Carbon vinyl 4D 3mt x 1.5mt £0.00 -Carbon wrapped wing mirrors £0.00 -Carbon wrapped B pillars £0.00 -Rear spring mount mod to lower the rear by 17mm £150.00-Windows tinted Limo round the rear and light on the front £48.00 -New gloss black Z badges and 350Z badges fitted £0.00 -Rear lights tinted in spray shop at work £0.00 -Carbon warpped my roof section £0.00 -Carbon wrapped the rear strut cover in the boot £21.00 -Black base coat £0.00 -Painted my door handles high gloss black £0.00 -Refurbed my wheels with a high gloss black finish £110.00 -Rear spoiler waiting on Polish/British postal service to deliver it then I'll carbon wrap it to match the roof and mirrors before fitting it Total spend £592.91 Obviously all the work apart from the window tints was carried out my self so saving a small fortune. dpbayly Posted June 28, 2014 Author Share Posted June 28, 2014 Thanks guy's The light tints are done by a process of using standard car lacquer and adding a little bit of black ( 10% is the amount I use) do it this way gives them a great high gloss finish and although they look dark they remain very translucent: Surface keyed: Light dusting first coat: followed by 2 heavier coats: Unlike the cheap can tints you can buy this way even the reflector still reflects very well even with my led flash on my phone in daylight picks it up very easily: 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Haha you will more than likely find something else to do! Oh cool, keep thinking of changing my exhaust too but removing the resonator sounds like a pretty decent mod to try. dpbayly Posted July 4, 2014 Author Share Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Well the final stage of the mods is complete or so I thought Ive now had my brother-in-law make me some wheel spacers he owns an engineering company which is handy as there free all I had to do was buy the extended studs. Anyway here's the spoiler painted and fitted then cleaned and waxed: A couple of close ups: And it in all its glory: A few shots of the spacers my bro-in-law made me: Just waiting for the studs to turn up Monday.....
