Their first instynct is to stand around and check their phones, either texting or getting ready to take a photo. I'd like to think i'd be diving in there to help. I meant how people react when something has happened (i.e.. did I get a good shot) rather than.. there are some people in a car in the water who might be drowning. HaydnH Posted September 23, 2013 Share Posted September 23, 2013 I think at events like this the spectators assume there will be marhsalls etc who are far more experienced at dealing with this kind of thing. Untrained people trying to help are more likely to be a hinderance, although if there was no marshalls reacting I'd probably jump in after about 30 seconds.
