S2000 for some reason sell really easily. Mine sold quicker and easier than my zed

 

Good thing I don't want to sell the zed anytime soon then. I did enjoy my S2K.

well I just sold my 56 plate roadster with 20,000 miles for good money privately and saved another grand not taxing and insuring it this year.

I sold my minter 07 plate 313 Roadster with every optional extra ticked for 9k last year in the "peak" of summer. It was either take the trade in price the garage offered me or risk having it sit around for 6 months.

 

Having seen local garages not being able to give away RX8`s and similar gas guzzlers I didnt fancy my chances much.

 

Annoying thing is though, when I bought the 350z garages wouldnt drop their for sale prices by a penny even - dispite it apparently being a "buyers" market.

OMG Don't get me started on how daft some of the questions we got when we was selling our Z. The enquiries and offers given where so insultingly stupid.

Do people still think that by saying "cash offer" really makes a difference? Seriously? In this day and age?

 

That always made me laugh when selling car private what else would they be offering , sheep ?

 

Depends if the deal is being done in Wales...

I think we can conclude that it is a buyers market at the moment - I often wonder how many people actually sell their cars on sites like Autotrader and Pistonheads. I have always done quite well on them but you do have to be patient and sometimes repeat / alter / re-price as you go along.

I'm actually looking to buy at the moment too, budget is only 7k tops though, and only after coupes :thumbs:

 

I would actually sell mine massively under market value... but won't go to 7k. Lowest I'll do my 2006 is 7.8k B)

It took me 1 month to sell my Focus RS 2 months ago on pistonheads but these cars are holding good money and are desirable.

 

In the end a guy bought and paid for it via bank transfer 8 days before collection...!

If you've got 50 ,100 , 150 cars on a forecourt a couple of others will sell, which will pays their weekly bills. :shrug:

 

And also they are there to shaft, not get shafted. :thumbdown:

Is amazing how the prices have fallen so quickly. I paid over eleven grand for mine less than two years ago and am looking to sell it now for some extra seats (the missus says having two two-seaters is just daft!).

 

Going by everyone's comments it looks like I'm going to have to stay 'daft' for a while longer! ;)

These days everybody wants smaller engined cars with lower tax etc. The Zed and similar cars are becoming more and more of a niche market, and therefore harder to sell. However good for buyers.

My friend (non-forum'er) had his GT4 up for sale in the autumn and had bu*ger all interest so ended up trading it in for just under £5k for his replacement car... a 1.0 EcoBoost Fiesta :surrender:

I can't believe people are selling and trading their zeds for peanuts, when I'm in the market for one.

 

It all depends on what the "glasses" guide gives as the estimate as to what garages say the car is worth. So a 2005 GT4 350z with average mileage would have a trade in price of about £6200, a normal non-GT4 would come in at £5200. They would add 30% to the price and stick it on their forecourt, or sell it onto a garage who specialises in them.

 

Theres a garage in Peterborough near where I live which seems to shift dozens of 350z`s and the prices they put them up for is incredible. They currently have an old low spec 2005 Roadster up for more than I sold my 2007 313 Roadster for. But, if they have a rep for specialising in those cars they are more likely to get a sale.

As a new member, who might be in the market for a 350Z next month, this is encouraging to read from a buyers point of view, but also concerns over problems I would have selling in the future.... I guess the market for impractical thirsty cars with a non-pregious badge is tiny.

 

When I've sold previous cars they have normally gone pretty quickly, including Type R's and a Lotus, most impressive was my girlfriends Polo 1.4 TDi, Ihad 5 calls on the first day and sold 3 days later to the first person who viewed for the full asking price. But people want small diesels.

It's just a very bad time of year mate... Christmas is just done, everyone's pockets have been raped and a large percentage of the populations wishes for 2013 is "Become debt free", which wouldn't be aided by a Zed purchase.

 

I thought it would have been easier to sell, perhaps naive of me. That and I have the plethora of "DONT TOUCH IMPORT" advice to contend with, despite it being in the UK since manufacture...

The problem is that people are TOLD they want small diseasels. If they actually worked out what they'd save by going over to the dark side they might be surprised.
