spursmaddave Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Going to hopefully test drive some XF's, I want to compare a 2.7D, the newer 2.2D and of course the 3.0D V6 Quote
DoogyRev Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Looking forward to knowing what you think of them. They are rather pricey over here Quote
NeilMH Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I would also be interested to see what you think. I like them a lot. Quote
S1 HNK Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 My father in law has the diesel S version and its seriously rapid. Lovely cars in my opinion and with the right bits on them I think they look much meaner than the 5 series equivalent. Enjoy Quote

Ekona Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Too much diesel love in this thread for my liking. You should be trying the V8s at least! Quote
Daryl Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 The new style face lifted XF really looks the part, let us know your thoughts. See if you can get a drive in an R, you know, just to compare. Quote
rabbitstew Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Dont you have to have an Arthur Daley style camel coat if you buy a Jag? Quote
rtbiscuit Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I'm actually wearing my flat cap today (for school) but now i wear it in salute to you sir. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 love the XK SS even more than the E type. Quote
leonk Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 1 love the XK SS even more than the E type. 16 made and valued at £1 million , bit out of our reach RT, still Quote
spursmaddave Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) Well I had a good look around at a dealer today, confirmed what i thought that the older 2.7 engine is less refined, less economical and less powerful that the new 3.0 so that's settled.... Didn't have a rest drive because I want to make the big decision first.... Does the Leon go or does the Leon & the Zed go.... Anyway has to be white, has to be 3.0 V6 soot chucker and hopefully the premium luxury or portfolio model Edited November 6, 2012 by spursmaddave Quote
Ricey Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Dont buy a white jag. Thats just wrong. +1 what are you a cheap southern fairy!? Oh........right Quote
rtbiscuit Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Not sure about white, its not bad but i prefer the darker colours Quote
Daryl Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Sorry, has to be British Racing Green,or the dark red they do. Quote
leonk Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Have to agree that I prefer the darker colours. Maybe the white looks better in the flesh, I suppose it's a younger look. Quote
spursmaddave Posted November 6, 2012 Author Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) Ok here is the thing.... I went to Spurs with my disabled mate on Saturday and as we got there early we parked inside the ground, we were actually 3 spaces away from Alan Sugars RR. The car park was full of Bentley Continentals, Mazza's, Fezza's even old Merc's but a white Jag XF pulled in and to my eyes put them all to shame.... I saw pretty much every colour option available today and still set on white... Edited November 6, 2012 by spursmaddave Quote
Dblock Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Its your hard earned mate and your opinion like I always bang on about but they do a really nice deep red? If whites what you want then thats fair enough. Chav Quote
rtbiscuit Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 does look good. colour is such a personal thing. i'd be tempted to say swap the zed and leon, will the zed get much use once you swap over? Quote

Exactly my thoughts.... The Zed is too juicy for my other halfs 50 mile round trip commute.... I want a bit of luxury, I was looking at a Lexus until Saturday.... If I get one can we be BFF's Quote
