steve-r Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 forgive my ignorance but I was looking to add a camera to my zed, it has the connect premium and was thinking of just getting one of these http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3a6e9ba4f4 is this not just a simple case of plug and play, or would I also need some kind of loom also? 1 Quote
bubbagross Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 I fitted one to my Roadster, a few more bits have to come out and you have to stop the hood from folding down half way so you can get into that area, but as the others have said, its really professional, and looks sweet on the factory screen. 1 Quote
sparky370z Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 The cam looks ok. It's the loom that attaches into headunit. That what costs alot. Quote

I bought one similar and it did not work with head unit Steve, so ended up going for the Kenwood one. Its more money but I knew it worked as other had also used the same camera.... jacks are not so much the problem, but the loom switches power to the camera when selecting reverse and automatically selects the right input for the camera image, so it all happens automatically ........ 1 Quote

Hey Bubbagross - I found a better way to route the camera loom from the boot to the rear parcel shelf behind the drivers seat in the Roadster (without having to mess with the hood folding malarkey.... you can actually 'bash' the cable straight through (if you know where to run it!).... Steve-r - you can get the harness / loom for the 370z from here (USA - Brian / bdl99) http://www.carkitcompany.com/nissan-370z/nissan-370z-backup-camera-ho 1 Quote

sipar69 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Mine is now on order:) Brian is very helpful with queries and dispatched the kit within 24 hours. Just hope it doesn't get held up for too long in customs....... Quote
robin c Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Just ordered my complete kit from Brian, let you know how I get on fitting to the roadster (any tips??), very reasonable $300 inc shipping to New Jersey house. Quote
robin c Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Kit arrived real quick from Brain looks a quality piece of kit. I plan to fit at the weekend. Will let you all know how I get on. Right time to make a call on the ERZ's HFC's... Quote

robin c Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 It includes a good step by step guide with the kit. The chap who created the kit has had a fair chunk of input from 370z coupe and roadster owners from the UK and USA. Honestly looks pretty straight forward. Famous last words.... Quote
robin c Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Finally got around to fitting the kit today. Pretty straight forward, the fiddly bit is getting the wiring fed through and neat and tidy. Takes around 3 hours. Really chuffed with the results. Can actually see out the back of the roadster now!! Car now cleaned and masked ready for a machine polish tomorrow. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Sparky Guys, no Camera menu in the hidden menu, does that mean reverse camera won't work? In contact with Brian, let's see what he says, nice kits he's doing. I wonder if there is a way to update the OS on the older versions, mine is Oct 2009 Quote
sipar69 Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Here's my thread on the camera. I think you need the Connect Premium version of the Sat Nav for it though. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/69820-some-new-modsreversing-camera-and-kick-plates/ Quote
mike89 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I am going to install this in the next few weeks. Thanks for the idea, this forum just costs me cash! Quote
chubbster Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Installed a reversing camera on my MY2010 a couple of months ago - cost me £81.45 in total Works beautifully, alongside the reversing sensors (£14.95). My favourite mod so far. I'd recommend it to everyone (pre 2010 is less easy to do). Quote
GIXXERUK Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Is there any distance related audible warning when using the camera ? Edited November 17, 2013 by GIXXERUK Quote
sipar69 Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 No but you do get the guidelines, which are helpful. Quote
GIXXERUK Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Thanks for the reply mate, I just had a nagging doubt that I hadn't activated something and it was supposed to make a sound, fitted a Brian loom and kenwood camera a few weeks ago, very pleased with it Quote

I agree - it's a great kit. Quote
