Morning chaps,

Has anybody had any experience with the Japspeed K4 exhaust system? - http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Nissan-350Z/E ... 19-72-970/

I quite like the look of it, and I know Japspeed have a reasonable reputation with a lot of members sporting their K2 exhaust. I think it might be new, as I can't find any information about it on the net - other than the blurb listed on the Japspeed website. My only concern is that it looks very similar to the HKS replica kits on eBay that I know a lot of people have had fitment issues with.

Any feedback appreciated!

Cheers,

Mike.

It's a HKS replica.

And people have also had issues with JapSpeed exhausts not fitting, not just the ones on ebay you refer too

+1

The HKS replica I had needed to be chopped about and custom fitted.

I've emailed Japspeed asking them to confirm whether this exhaust is designed to fit UK models 'out of the box' (I hope it would be seeing as Japspeed is a UK company?).

Do Japspeed actually make any of their own products ? Seems like they just buy stuff from china and re-brand it with their name on it ?

Yep  that's why it breaks they say ok your bike.

wouldn't touch japseye stuff with a barge pole, not since they tried to tell a customer there exhaust was straight and the car was wonky

personally its the old adage of you get what you pay for. and in this case you will get an imported cheap chinese exhaust that will more thna likely require adjustment to fit, will possibly sit squint on the car, and posssibly require replacing in 3 years when its welds snap somewhere.

Probably didnt want the possibility of KW having a go at them since they license a K3 product

Kw stuff is v3 is it not? That's the suspension I run :teeth:

The only real exception to the cheap exhaust rule is Scorpion......and even then mines a little wonky donkey.

Did you tell Scorpion that it wasnt straight? Sorry if this has been gone over before but being made in Derbyshire, I wouldnt be supprised if they would go out of their way to sort it out. I once lost the removable baffle for my bike exhaust and they just sent me over a new one very quickly at a reduced rate. Still something to be said for "made in the UK"

With the JapSpeed it depends how well they've copied the HKS, or even how well they've copied the copy of the HKS :surrender: I get the feeling most of these exhausts probably come out of the same factory and all the copies are the same just rebranded.

I'd stay well clear of Japspeed. Even if they said it would fit out of the box. If it then ends up not fitting they will say its your car that is the problem and not the product. They've done it before

apologies for the thread bump but been looking at these this week. £499.00 inc VAT from japspeed and it is a HKS copy. Now I know the K1 is really loud and the K2 is a little more civilised. Anyone had experience with this specific K4 exhaust?

Just had to replace a k2 that was on my car as the baffles had gone in two places. Got a Cobra resonated to replace it and the difference in quality is massive. Wouldn't touch anything made by Crapspeed ever again, and the Cobra is cheaper than the k4....
