The Beeb came to work yesterday, so someone had to take them offshore to the jack-up barge.

The day was a bit of a grueller! sailed at 11am, me and my colleague Lloyd (not Christmas), plus Producer, camera man, a Well Spoken Man (correspondent), PR mouthpiece for Vattenfall, and a freelance photographer who was setting up some time lapse stuff. Didn't end up sailing back in until well after 9pm, then one hours drive home. Best part of the day was the two slap up meals on the SeaJack, offshore cooking standards remain high I see!

They did various bits of filming and audio for TV, radio and Web. I believe it'll be going out on the week starting 14th august, and if I'm really unlucky, you might catch a glimpse of me getting the Frog off the barge.

As if I don't see enough tugs and barges as it!

The MPI Resolution is in Teesport at the moment getting reading to commence installing the Tees Bay wind farm bases.

I believe that's where the Sea Jack is heading next after they finish at ours.

We had Nick Knowles at my swansea refinery a few weeks ago filming from someone (BBC maybe). They left my office in a right state as i said they could use it. I was travelling at the time so missed it but apparantly they are doing up some house in the area and our refinery was involved in building much of the surrounding town so they wanted to see our museum (i cannot spell that word!) and discuss our history.

  • 3 weeks later...

Clip on 10pm National BBC news last night about the blades being made at H & W and tonight they are showing them being shipped out to a Cumbrian farm and assembled - so it does look as though we are going to see Andrew at work ;)

Was it? I missed the news last night. Will probably continue for a day or two then.

Looks like the BBC microsite for it is live now anyway, so you can see it all at once!

Timelaspe of the installation is quite cool. I'm just behind the camera on all the Sea Jack stuff
