Four years on the site.......have you read anything?? :headhurt::p

haven't spent much time on here, only occasionally dropping bye now & again,

point me in the right direction and I'll read it :)

Just use the advanced search and you will find everything you need... there is also a very good buyers guide sticky in the general section

being a non GT, will it be cheaper to insure?

and also what's the extras if it's a GT.

GT comes with cruise control, leather seat, brembos and uprated BOSE.

All UK cars have brembo's, its not part of the GT pack.

I would get a P3 done even if they dont do it. All they'll do is change the oil.

pfft Beat me too it on the Brembos. Non-GT is not to be underrated. Cloth don't throw you about in the corners like skidding leather ;)

And Cruise Control. Please! Don't get me started. If you want a motorway car, buy a Merc :boxing:

Bradders.

Drive it with the windows open. Listen for clicks from the rear axles on/off the power at low speed.

Check the clutch operation, try and get it to slip, check biting point is not too high.

Check tyre wear is even all round.

Check VIN stickers are everywhere they should be (they are on lots of panels).

Seems a good price - get a P3 equivalent service at a good independent. Normal servicing is a piece of **** on these so a Z specialist isn't essential for minor servicing, so long as they use the correct diff & gearbox oils. However don't underestimate the value of building a relationship with a specialist mechanic!!!

NB: I really like the cruise control (and the Z's is especially good), makes motorway driving less stressful. I wouldn't have a car without it now. Leather/electric seats/Bose/rays I could live without.

Non-GT is not to be underrated.

+1 When I bought last year, tatty high-mileage GTs were going for £2k more than I paid at a main dealer for a mint low mileage base model.

Cloth seats don't need heating, the standard wheels look bigger than the Rays and less than 10% heavier, you still get the hands-free kit, the stereo/speakers are a lot easier to replace... Cruise control is as much use as an ash-tray on a motorbike if you live in the south-east

Rays were a £1k option on both models until the 2006 facelift when they became standard on all cars.

Not really. It could be 4 owners who cherish their new car, or 4 owners who thrashed it. You'll never know, go by what you see :)

I see a nice looking car, but it's what's underneath that really matters. suppose I'll have to take the chance, and hope for the best.

BTW are these inspections (AA and the like) worth going for?.

Not really, they won't know the trouble spots to look for.

As long as the exhaust isn't rattling, there's no clicking from the rear axle, the clutch isn't slipping, and the electric windows work, there isn't much else goes wrong ;) If the tyres are on their last legs, get money off because your looking at £500 for a set.

Don't disregard mine :D

Maybe a few miles on it but it's full Nissan serviced with top oil

12 month mot

Tyres good

No clicking axle

Brand new exedy clutch

All electrics work

Full Nismo kit and 19's

Nearly £1000 cheaper

Just needs a hub and compression arm from Alex or Lee for £200

Wouldnt be selling if I wasn't going abroad

I'm no expert but my humble opinion, I would avoid it. Lack of rays wouldn't bother me as I prefer the standard wheels but the lack of servicing, non gt spec and only one key would be enough to put me off. I'm sure given a bit of time you could find another without those marks against it, if you see them as that.

Buy another key on ebay (get one that looks the same - x-trail?... Here is the procedure to add the key into your immobiliser.

 The success rate for people trying this seems to be zero! I and a few others have tried buying and coding used keys without success. For a start there are 2 types of key that look the same but work completely differently

Hi guys

I pick the car up next, and like I said it's only as one key, and I didn't take allot of notice of it to be honest, what I Didn't test was the central locking,I presume the unlock/lock function's are on the key itself, right?.

Yes, just the 2 buttons on the key fob. As far as the keys go, check through all the cubbyholes once you pick it up. We thought we only had one key but we discovered the other one together with some documents in the lockup behind the passenger seat. I can't really figure out why anyone would lock in there though .
