  1. Ferodos might be OK to use up on a track day: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=130980801287 Pagids to get through MOT? http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=130980803862
  2. Does it have the chassis number on little hologram stickers on the edges of body panels - i.e. inside boot, inside door shuts nr catch, underside of bonnet etc? This is the easy way to tell if any panels have been replaced, as you can't replace these (without, I imagine some difficultly in sourcing replicas).
  3. Now sold, this forum is an awesome resource for all things Z and the buyer saw this ad
  4. Thanks - I live 15 miles from Lancaster. If you are based in Glasgow as your name suggests then Lancaster is on the west coast mainline, 2hrs from Glasgow Central no changes and £31 for a ticket. I can meet anyone interested at the station if need be. Lancaster is also just 2.5hrs by Pendolino from London Euston if anyone from thereabouts is interested. Everybody is aware that Azure Blue is the best colour for a 350Z, just not everyone can admit it
  5. Thanks for the kinds words everyone, this car will be sorely missed. The Z ticks every box, noise, presence, handling, speed, looks, and very reasonable price. Why am I selling this again.....? Thanks a lot, my number has been added in now in an american style.... Cheers, Will.
  6. Now sold via contact made through this forum. Big thanks to the 350Z-UK.com community over the last 3 years!
  7. I just followed procedure here http://www.potholes....p_by_step_guide and they have coughed up without any fight. I don't think they knew about the pothole I hit until I reported it. I know this because i submitted an FOI request for inspections and complaints for the year prior to my incident and couldn't spot it.
  8. To update this I replaced the wheel with a mint used one from ebay (to minimise costs) and had the tyre swapped and a geo check. The council have covered these costs entirely (without any admission of liability) so it is well worth a claim if it happens to you,
  9. I got a pair of Apec front brake discs 18 months ago for my z for £85 delivered These are plain vented discs, no dimples or whirls, these I think: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4ac1aac98d I run them with EBC Yellow pads, which are much "dustier" than previous DS2500. 11000 miles later (only 1 trackday last year ) and they are going fine, however I'm not expecting them to last as long as the OE discs, but they wanted £500 for those. Braking performance I would say is not quite up to DS2500 + OE discs previous. probably down to the pads as much as the discs. The brakes are still utterly fantastic on road or track though
  10. Ferodo DS2500 are great, my car came with them. Then I fitted some cheap Pagid pads and they weren't up to much so didn't stay long. Now running EBC Yellow which are good for road use so far, but a bit dusty and definitely not as confidence inspiring as the DS2500.
  11. The amp in the boot, back left. The amp on my sub was fine, some need to wedge some card in if the sub drops out.
  12. Jeez thats not a pothole, its a crater! Well I've submitted a FOI request to find out if its been reported before and also reported it so they can fill it in. Plenty of pictures etc and measurements, if the tyre looks OK on the inside I will only be the cost of the used wheel + fitting out of pocket + someone might buy the old one off me for a few quid (as I believe it can be fixed, and it was mint pre damage).
  13. Well I've located a used rim at reasonable cost, and will have the tyre and the suspension inspected when its changed over, along with the geo check. I think this damage can be repaired fairly easily, but I'd prefer replacement. Just going to minimise expense and then submit a claim for the costs, means its more likely to get paid out and not so bad if it doesn't get paid.
  14. Somehow I don't think the council will cough up £1150+vat for a new rim from nissan after I hit an 8cm deep pothole. Whats the best way forward, I understand about the claim process, however do you think I can claim for a second hand replacement wheel or a repair? No external damage to the tyre and it hasn't gone flat. Irks me a little though reusing the tyre. Car drives straight and haven't detected any vibration at motorway speed yet, although I would want to get the geo checked. Anyone had successful pothole claim on such an expensive wheel?
  15. Mine was clicking away for ages, this has fixed it for 6 months so far (I used CV grease). 70k 2004 car.
  16. Mine was a bit musty so I set the passenger seat forwards and set a carplan aircon aerosol in the foot well. It went everywhere but the mustiness was gone! Not noticed any stains or discolouration of of the seat, carpet or plastics.
  17. I think insurers have got this upside down. I went to an SAC and could see that it really opened a few people's eyes. I heard some people come out with crazy things - at the course everyone was put right and given coping strategies. I came away having learnt something "new" and I think most people did - they will be more attentive at least on the drive home.... The opportunity to re-educate drivers in modern conditions should be maximised by the government. Of course, if there is research that shows those who have SAC's are more likely to claim or reoffend, in which case there's little to argue for them and insurers will load premiums.
  18. Could get a 1.25" hitch from rockauto.com (Curt 11493 think it was £130 delivered inc all taxes) and fit a rack Looks like this:
  19. Hi is this UK or JDM? What year car is it off (I understand there are some differences). Also how much would delivery be? Cheers.
  20. Yes really - I'm after a single standard wheelnut for my rays equipped 350z. Had to forcibly remove my locking wheelnuts, and am missing one original to replace. Anyone got one they would post to me? Cheers.
  21. Nothing wrong with a repaired car - so long as its been done properly. I'd hope to see documentation - a pic of the damage and receipts detailing the work done (dated around the time of the incident). The bodykit on this one may cover up nasties. Usual rule of thumb is that a recorded car is worth 10-20% less than an equivalent unrecorded car, and bear in mind it will be more difficult to sell on. There's lots of cars out there that have had big repairs paid for by insurance companies / individuals- these go unrecorded so a recorded car is as good as any used car IMO, its just you know for a fact something happened to it. If you want a car that you are 100% sure has never been damaged - buy a new one - however even then they do get damaged sometimes before hitting the forecourt! If the seller is honest here and it it was recorded due to engine damage - this may turn out to be 'better' than an unrecorded car as you may be getting a lower miles engine. With any used car make sure you do a thorough inspection and treat each on its merits.
  22. I very nearly bought a 968 and then a 944 S2 before I bought my Z and drove quite a few of them. I really like them. They both have the 3litre engine (968 has variocam), feel much more raw than the Z and enough power to have fun. I've never driven a 924 2.0 / 2.5 or 944 2.5 / 2.7, but I guess they would feel down on power these days. I have a real soft spot for the 924S as the last of the "pure" 924 shape and interior with a more powerful and characterful engine. In the end I went for a 350Z as I felt I'd miss my creature comforts and modern car reliability and safety features (crash protection, airbags etc) and of course I love the 6 cylinder soundtrack.
  23. Well mine dropped out again. In the meantime I had bought a used bose boot amp (£40) to keep as a spare. I swapped it out for the spare and every things fine again. I still can't say 100% if its just a loose connection or something more sinister inside the amp.
