Going to Abbey on thursday for a remap.

What can i expect, apart from the bill.

You can expect to receive more information than you can process, to see a genius at work and drive out a completely different car. It will also weigh a little less cause of your wallet but its easily the best mod per pound.

What do they charge for a remap?

£397 :scare:

Yeah but consider all the costs of other mods that don't give you any more performance, cheap as chips in comparison.

Yeah i know? But with other mods, its all little bits of cash, not one big lump.....

Sorry for kinda hijacking your thread, but this question has been bugging for me a while.

Can any tuner/dyno shop do this and is an aftermarket ECU required?

Abbey are Nissan Specialists and have worked on many many Zed's.

No aftermarket ECU needed as it's your ECU that gets remapped and your mods will be taken into consideration when doing the remap (exhausts, air filters/induction kits, plenum spacer, etc. etc.)

Do a remap with Abbey and you will get the claimed gains for like a £1000+ 5Zigen Exhaust :)

Shift is this end of the pond. ;)

Shift, if you ask the guys on the forum over here. Sorry I can't recommend any tuners in Wellywood. But I know the guys that live your end of the island will be able too.

Good price, sooo cheap next to having to buy an aftermarket ECU and get that remapped (£1000+ anyone?). Is it £397 + or including VAT? Do they recommend any other mods before getting it done?

I would leave Uprev for your last mod. Get everything you want fitted first & then get uprev to get the full benefit

I know that, I meant is there any 'essential' mods. I have done a bit of research and it seems Y pipe, rear silencer, plenum spacer and drop in filter/induction kit seems to work well.

Check out my Dyno results on the following thread http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24431&start=15 I increased my HP from 240 to 258 at the hubs!

I had fitted:

ARC Induction Kit

Plenum Spacer

XYZ Pipe

De-cate pipes

After Uprev the above mods were mapped into the ECU and now my 1k to 4k acceleration is now bliss! The whole package is tuned to it's potential and I gained some nice figures. What makes the uprev great is that it also removes the 155mph limiter giving you the option to spread your wings and fly  Not only that, but the change in throttle response is NICE!

I've been waiting since last weekend to find some real competition on the roads to have a little battle with :yahoo:

Like the others are saying, purchase your bits, get them fitted, get the Uprev done. You'll notice the difference more with mutli mods, rather than just sticking with one item etc. The only problem is the total cost of mods and Uprev. But the joy or driving the car thereafter is great. It feels like a different car!

Even tuning a totally stock car will give a return , you dont need to spend anymore money other than the reflash and you be happy with the results.

Be very careful with what you fit to your car with regards parts i.e exhausts and filters. A lot of items around dont work full stop and can and will lose your BHP or Torque.

Mark,

Is there in your opinon a general list of mods ie exhaust, popcharger/panel filters or anything you could give us a heads up that does give you a loss or not worth putting on your car??

and a positive list of stuff that has gains and worth putting on the car for example I have just got rid of my pop charger and got a K&N typoon with cold air feed, have I wasted my money or not ? oh and I will be coming to you soon for a remap.

Cheers

My view on tuning these cars and what we have been selling to people of the last few months is as follows

Leave the stock air filter box on the car ( if you have a DE car try to find an Revup filter box) and fit a perfomance panel filter

Remove stock cats, the best decats are the Motordyne Resonated De-cats or if you dont think they are worth the money fit stock de-cats.

Fit a Motordyne XYZ Y pipe fitted with Race cat to keep the car legal and quiet and keep the stock exhaust system which will sound nicer with the freer flowing race cat

And fit a Motordyne plenum spacer.

then Uprev reflash.

I have tried a lot of other tuning parts that dont work , that is how we come up with the above list that does work very well.

I can do a package deal if people want.

Dam you for being in the mainland ... I might just have to get my stuff fitted and then get a boat over to you :)

In relation to filters etc ... I have the Nismo intakes fitted I take it they will loose power opposed to the stock intake system and upgraded panel filters?

Also ill hopefully be getting Berks HFC's soon, then a Y pipe possibly XYZ if im feeling flush ... What kind of gains would expect with a good remap? Rough figures with and without nismos.

Would you do me a deal if I was to come over and possibly just purchase the XYZ pipe with you there and then? ;) lol

Chris,

yes we can work out a deal for you , but I wouldn't bother with HFC,s thou , fit De-cats and run XYZ with race cats far better flowing we find.

These mods are definitley worth 10+ bhp and 1-+ torque throught the rev range throttle response will be greatly improved as well.
