Advice Needed, Urgent booo roads!

Hey guys

Late last night i was driving down a country road, and my passenger side wheel hit the biggest pothole known to mankind!

The end result was the wheel was left slightly buckled but whats worse is the wheel its self has set back in the wheel

Arch about half an inch/an inch, not mentioning wrecking my front bumper.

The wheel is off to get fixed today so thats cool, but my question is what is the most likely component to be bent?

I took the wheel off this morning to have a look and to me i could not see anything, i mean the A arm at the top is

at a slope but i was thinking something like this would be something lower.

I need to get this fixed b4 the end of the week as im going away and the day im back i have it booked in

for a whole body refresh in a place quite far from me.

Thanks Guys

This might help.

I have most parts available.

I would check that arm 28/29 has not been pulled back from where it joins into the engine x member 4.

Without wishing to to add to your troubles I would want the steering checked - in fact the whole front suspension geometry may be affected given what you have said :headhurt: - get it to a specialist IMO.

And yes as the guys have said, get the evidence - take a camera and scale measure to show the size/depth of the hole. Maybe you have legal protection on your insurance to help or are in the RAC/AA - check out if they can help you get your money back for the repairs that might add to quite bit :surrender:

Good luck

Yes, local highways authority is your best shot at getting repairs paid for.

As mentioned, do not talk to them until you've taken lots of pictures of the pothole and the approach to it and the damage to your car.

Locally, a woman had an incident with a pothole and the LHA paid out as they couldn't deny nor ignore the issue due to it being in the local newspaper.

They will usually only pay out if its already been reported so also check for the white marks they put around them.

Very interested to know how bad the wheel is as I have a similar issue.

Your wheel dosnt happen to look like this does it?

:lol::ninja:

defo would be putting a claim in to the highways dept. You need to take a phot of the pot hole. Also take a ruler which shows how deep the pot hole is when taking the photos

Oh if that is your car (zedrushes old one) then you may have to settle for a repaired bumper as I dont think they make that veilside one anymore

Tbh if the front end has taken that much of a hit I would be looking at the rear end too :headhurt:
