White writing on tyres

Just came back to me today,

 

while i was in france i saw a pug with Pirelli tyres on, but the pirelli was in white writing, just wondered if anyone new how to do this, or if its something you buy, or if the tyres come from the manufacturer like that?

Don't believe they would come 'as standard' like that ... but you could use something like tipex (maybe) to paint in the standard logo ... or make a stencil and spray it with white paint - like they do on F1 tyres...

That's the point I was trying to make.

 

I think it looked ok on a old escort that I tries to make look like a rally car with forest arch kit and 3 colour paint job back in 1990.

 

Would not dream of doing it now

i always remember the big performance super cars having it etc. never remember it on cheap cars. anyone got a link to the one on PH with it

I use a tyre pen on my sets of track tyres so that I can quickly at a glance know which ones go where.

I used to have a big black monster wide jeep with wheels like that on - the writing was actually white though, it suited the vehicle at the time but it was still a pile of crap!

If you do that then I'll come round at night and draw over it with a black marker.

It will look @*!# with White lettering on the tyres

think ive seen it on nascar racing and as mentioned above, someone i'm sure posted something up on here with white writing and it got slated..........

My rear Stones are a bit light on tread, so I use a black felt tip pen to improve the pattern.

 

It works alright until I go out in the rain...
