M350ZB Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Cleared up quite quickly here though, reckon things will only get worse though !!!!!! Quote
hedgy99 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Snowed for 10 minutes in surrey and then melted. Drove my Z in the snow once, not a good experience. I was the only car that could not get up a hill. Got half way up and traction control kicked in, cut the power completely. The car stopped and then started sliding down the hill. Sh*t myself, managed to ski down the hill without incident. I noticed that front wheel drive cars managed to get up the hill as the weight of the engine over the front wheels helped to give more grip. Quote
M350ZB Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Never driven my Zed in the snow, and hoping not to have to, currently out-sdie my house under the cover, covered in a mixture of snow and rain=slosh !!!!! Quote
Lexx Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Snows been blowing horizontal here..... not being laying... ...but that could be somethign to do with being on water Quote

Blue meanie Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Flew in from Edinburgh last night to find a foot of snow on my Isuzu from the day before! Typical I never had a snow brush, so had to use a mop thingy! Quote
bronzee Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 I'm glad we don't get snow where I live, nearest we've had is a massive dump of hail about 8 years ago, sat on the sides of the roads for weeks. Quote

Wrong m8...wide tyres dont help....driven on snow loads...yes in Greece Stew!!!!! Got stuck many times and last resort in a front wheel drive car is to reverse uphills!!!! The whole trick when driving uphills is to make sure you carry on enough momentum...you stop once and thats it...thin deflated tyres help a lot as well....the scary thing is going downhills.....have stopped only just a few times..... On Friday I ploughed up the hill to my house where many other stuck. I was in the Zed and it managed fine. 3rd gear, use the torque! Quote
