  1. My lumping great sedan isn't that far off those figures! WooHooo!
  2. Not sure who wrote that review, but again, he seems to think that the only skyline was the GTR/S... Oh, and RTBiscuit, not arguing that they are not all saloon cars tarted up. I completely agree. I was merely pointing out that the Skyline range isn't just the GTR
  3. Or rather a country where the only officially imported Skylines were GTRs... Pah... MR2 Turbo's were never imported. They are well known, however. As I said, an ill-educated populace. They probably don't know that the Vaux monaro is a Holden, and is sold in the US as a Pontiac GTO. I bet they don't know shedloads of stuff, but ho hum...
  4. Of course you're missing out on quite possibly the coolest skyline ever... The Datsun GTR As for skylines, (oh, and when I bought my G35, I had no idea it was a skyline, so I don't have a stick up my arse, I just hate it when folks are wrong/incorrect/or whatever...)
  5. I cannot be blamed for an ill-educated populace...
  6. I was BIG into MR2's myself. Had this little baby, (300+hp, 1.25 bar, HKS suspension, GT exchaust, water injection, etc)... My favourite car still, and I'd have another in a heartbeat At MR2OC FIRST ever official club stand at a car show thingy!
  7. Well, it's not for me to get shirty, but Skylines have, and will continue to be saloon and coupe cars... Always have, and always will be. The GT-R you talk about, (not the current one), have always been the range topping variant. A bit like the AMG to Mercedes, and the M-Power to BMW. The rest of the range has had engines ranging from 1.6 litre, to 3.5... So, Skyline itself is just the name for a a range of largish cars made by Nissan/Datsun, going back to year dot. The G35 does 60 in around 5.4 seconds, so certainly quick. The "new skyline" is not a skyline at all. it is a completely different model, (although the Altessa awd system is used in the G35X, the awd varient of the Skyline, and the same system used in the GT-R's in the past). It's like calling the Porsche carrera GT a 911... By the way, the Skyline was introduced at the same time in 2001, so who uses which bits off what car? Does that make the 350Z not actually a true Z car, as it uses bits from a Skyline?
  8. You don't know much about skylines, do you...
  9. I'm with you on that one. No doubt its an awesome machine but its soo bland. Nothing exciting about it. It was .5 seconds off the time for the Zonda F, and yet it was unexciting? Are g forces different in the Veyron? is acceleration different? For a car 800kgs heavier to do it in that time it had to have been anything but dull. Not really sure exactly how you can tell a dull/exciting car from just watching.
  10. Dissappointed? it is close to 2 tonnes, and the other cars in the top 3 are pretty much track beasts. The veyron is a different animal altogether. More like a cross between a luxury cruiser, and a supercar, so the fact it was only 1 second slower than an out and out supercar is amazing.
  11. Flew in from Edinburgh last night to find a foot of snow on my Isuzu from the day before! Typical I never had a snow brush, so had to use a mop thingy!
  12. This is purely because of the litigious ridden US market. Muppets who would use their launch control one too many times would go sobbing to Nissan that they broke their car, and Nicssan need to fix it. Quite rightly Nissan said 'hold on, you've done x amount of launches in a row" or whatever. Warranties are not there to get muppets out of trouble, they are there for genuine problems.
  13. And quite right that the drunk businesswoman should be jailed. Quite right it should be used in insurance claims. The more that people fail to claim on insurance, especially if they were driving like bloody idiots, the more chance my premium will come down!
  14. Just an FYI, try to take it back to where you bought it. If it is just out of warrantly, (so that could be 2 years old or so, then you CAN change it, as the consumer rights bill protects you. A 42" TV should last 5 years according to them, and if it breaks before then, you are entitled to a new one. The year warranty is bullshit. Take your statutory rights along with you. I'll try to get more info when I can.
  15. There are some awesome roads if you head off from Caernarfon castle, towards Betsw-y-coed. I believe it's the Evo triangle. I used to run there every sunday in my tubby.
  16. I used to be indecisive... But I'm not sure now...
  17. What about me! I'd likey one! Piccies here if you need them... should you do one.... If I was lucky.... and all that http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c233/ ... otive/G35/
  18. I posted this elsewhere, and still no idea if it is applicable, but it's a Nissan, and I presume they have a lot of similarity in setup. http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/produc ... cts_id=521
  19. Not at all. I like my G, and I can shag in the back.. I thought I made that clear? I just like the whole community thing that comes with these things!
  20. Blue 350Z, just off Princes street, near to that Frankie and Bennies place. Parked up at the side. Blue, with big funky wheels. Nice looking car there you have fella!
  21. 200? feck me.. they are 150-280 bucks in the US. Have you considered shipping one from over there? http://www.motordyneengineering.com/G35.htm http://www.alteredatmosphere.com/mm5/me ... e=350Z_ENG http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0512it_ ... index.html
  22. I don't know about the 350's, but the G35's have a 'sat' button, for satellite radio. YOu can hook it up to that no problem. http://www.g35parts.com/9083/osc/produc ... cts_id=521 This is the button I'm talking about... 4th round button above the head unit.
  23. What do people have against the Bose system? Granted, it's not a techno thumper unit, but the sound is perfectly fine for actually listening to music. Folks in the states hate it too.
